  • Kalk Bay is a fishing village on the coast of False Bay, South Africa and is now a suburb of greater Cape Town. It lies between the ocean and sharply rising mountainous heights that are buttressed by crabs of grey Table Mountain Sandstone.

I just happened to be on the dock when this boy caught this octopus. Moments later he and his father made ceviche out of it. I decided to not share the execution of the numerous octopodes that day.

How sad to think people celebrate catching an Octopus. They are highly intelligent sea creatures and should not be caught or eaten. Yes, you will laugh at my statement but once human beings have evolved, they will refrain from eating just every living thing.
