This Water Spot Remover Actually Works | CarPro Spotless 2.0

- We’ve had our hands on CarPro’s Spotless 2.0 (which was a new release for 2022) for some time, and finally had an opportunity to test it out in a real world setting by attempting to remove some water spots on the glass of our Ford Mondeo.
Spotless 2.0 has been developed to quickly remove damaging water spots on both single-stage and clear-coated paint finishes, and is advertised as safe to use on glass, chrome, stainless steel, plastic, and rubber trim.
We also took the opportunity to pull out our old bottle of CarPro’s original Spotless formula to compare the differences side-by-side.

Water spots on glass suck. A few years ago I had some water spots on my side windows and tried just about everything, even compound with microfiber pad and nothing helped. I later took the car to get tint and I don't know what they did but somehow they were able to remove all the water spots. The tint looked great but the water spot removal impressed me more 😂

When you used the light to see etching in the glass-was that etching from the water spots that were removed, or etching caused by the acidic Spotless 2.0?
Great question. I would guess it’s from the years of water spot build up. What do you think?
I recently removed water spots followed by a polish on a Range Rover. Those water spots were so imbedded and etched the roof had to be heated up (using the sun), water spot remover applied, finished by a compound and a finished polish. Without the sun and Carpro spotless 2.0 the compound polishing did nothing.

@@OmniGarage yes, I would also guess the etching mentioned was from water spots rather than the acidic spray itself.

Yeah it sure was! That was at the very extreme end of the scale. Not fun but a very happy and thankful client.
Have you experienced any issues using this on glass? Had some limescale in the corners of my rear windscreen. Applied it with a brush, let it sit for maybe 2 mins, and then rinsed of with low pressure. Now there are spots and running trails where the product sat which won’t rub off. Should I try to dissolve that with more product?
Didn’t have this problem. Yeah try more product and wipe of with a wet towel. You don’t want the product sitting for too long.

@@hsuzhewei5479It kind of solved itself actually. I often use acidic car shampoos, like Carpro Descale. And after maybe 3-4 washes with those trails were gone.
Hi, maybe I used this product improperly and left it for too long, cause it left a lot of marks on my glass, how can I remove it?

How acidic is the 2.0? Are you comfortable using it in ceramic coated paint surface?
I think it’s a pretty aggressive cleaner. It has a pH of 4.0. Carpro Cquarts 3.0 has pH of 3-14 ish, and Gtechniq CSL has a pH of 2-12 ish. So should be safe on these coatings. I would use with caution and spot treat water spots rather than soaking your whole car in this product.

@@OmniGarageSpotless 2.0 has a pH of 2.2 based on testing by Sandro at Car Craft, and Descale is between 3.5-4 depending on dilution, one of the downsides of ceramic is the waterspots that come with it so not the best for cars that live outside and/or don't get much love. You guys should give graphene coatings a go, or try the new DiamondProtech range, they're supposed to be better at protecting against waterspots or Carpro Sic which is pretty good at that part too but not the longevity part

I would say that after a few applications and the water spots haven’t come out….then you need to try a different method/product.
@@OmniGarage ok, thank you for your advice. I applied it twice to a side window to test and it was not clean as in the video, it was left with spots of the product.
In the instructions for Spotless 2.0... Do NOT spray directly on glass. Use with caution, buff in and off instantly and neutralize.
That stuff is POTENT... you just don't leave it on there.. you gotta wash it off or wipe it with a quick detailer.. something to remove it completely... it can even strip coatings if you arent careful..
Don't use this on your side mirrors i did and they turned all hazy.
Good to know it didn’t play nicely with the plastics on the side mirror. Hopefully you’re able to fix it!

@@OmniGarage I was told by Carpro and the store i bought it from would it be safe they both said YES
but it's a mirror surface yes glass like but very very sensitive, and i new this but had my doubts.
But since i got the double ok i went with it, and paid the price, if you find water spots on any side mirror
I would use a glass polish just my 2 cents worth.
