- Great John Norum solo from The Final Countdown album (which has been released 36 years ago today).
This solo has everything : a great melody, some bluesy licks and some shredding stuff too. It was a bit complicated to figure out what to play exactly on some parts but this video should give you a good idea about it.

Just 2023 i had discovered this Jem...
One of the best solos ove heard.thanks for sharing man
Never heard this before but it sounds fantastic, obviously done by a very talented player who knew his way around the fretboard...can't believe its 36 years since Final Countdown, I remember it on the radio alongside Livin on a prayer...top job.
Thanks. John Norum did many very cool solos on this album (and on the other ones too).
Too bad Europe is mostly known with The Final Countdown song, because they released lots of great albums and songs. Also their music style has changed a lot from their first album to their latest.
Yeah, Norum's solos in TFC album were very cool...and this is a great lesson. Thanks!
such a beautiful solo..I always had liked this song and the solo is why..I think... great job, Steph.....
Thank you!
Thank you!! Norum is my favorite
Very nice solo..
Thanks!
Wow you transcribed this epic solo! So great!
J'étais obligé, il est énorme ce solo ^^
@@StephLeGratteux Je suis bien d’accord, cet album a bercé mon adolescence !
Great job Steph, i hope at some point you play the solo of "open your heart"
Thanks. Yes I will play both versions!
I always loved John Norum. Great guitarist. However, I struggle with some parts in his solos, as they sometimes just seem like a BURST of notes like the ones in bar 15- Rock the night has the same thing
I know what you mean as I had a hard time trying to tab the fast part of Rock The Night solo... and I didn't even try to play it 😅
@@StephLeGratteux ahaha yes, that fast passage in Rock The Night is impossible.. do you just slow parts like the one in Ninja so much down you can hear the notes individually
Very good job, congratulations!!!! I love this solo and it's great finding someone giving some credit to it!!! Did you use the splitted bridge humbucker of your Charvel?
sehr stark !!!!! :-)
Danke!
🤘🏻🎸👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gracias!
Muito bom! Show!
Obrigado!
Eu acho o solo mais difícil de fazer do Europe
Europe. Nice. 😂
35 years ago I was a huge Whitesnake fan. 87. Great album.
And I was at the same time a Mötley Crüe fan too.
And Ratt, and then came out the first stuff of G'nR, Skid Row, Poison, and the best albums of Bonbon Johnny... Etc
I don't wanna say, that those Swedish guys were bad {or they are just like a "one song band", as most of the rockers know them all over the world.
As a real thrash metal fan I am pretty ashamed that I am listening to such kind of stuff, but for me it is not so terrible.
Tho Europe is one of the last.
1987 might be Whitesnake most successful album, I still prefer the oldest ones. Their sound kinda lost that blues/soul touch which made them unique, and they started to sound like many other bands produced in USA. Anyway I still like this album as Whitesnake is one of my 10 or 15 favorite bands and Coverdale one of my 5-6 top singers. How sad it is to hear his singing now :/ But he's still an awesome frontman!
Ratt, Poison... well... no comment 😂 (which is already a point of view 😂). I like many Crüe songs, I'm ok with a little bit of Cinderella, but Poison......."unskinny bop bop".....
Maybe you should give a listen to some recent Europe songs, it's very different from the super mainstream music they used to make (I might have said this already, didn't I?).
Btw I'm wondering if you'll like the next video. I only posted one solo from this band a long time ago, but I will start to post more. I won't say the name of the band, it's top secret 😂 (and it has nothing to do with Europe, Whitesnake or Poison)
This is great, but where's the first 8 bars?
Teache Kee Marcelo 😂
First !
Aussi rapide qu'un ninja !😄
Hello. Sorry I’m new here in your channel. Something of Michael Jackson, maybe? Sorry if not or if you don’t like his.
