How does Remington R51 work?

That would have been great if it showed the top round in the magazine on a full mag jamming into the feed ramp.
As I see it, this later design leaves out a key feature that the original R51 had. The original model contained a sort of hook that grabbed onto a sloped cut in the top of the bolt to lift it up over the frame shoulder as the slide retracted backward. This new R51 doesn't feature that design but seems to rely on the each successive cartridge to push up on the bolt after hitting the frame shoulder. In theory, this may seem like a simpler solution; however, it obvioulsy doesn't work with any bit of reliablity.
Remington, issue those threaded barrels please.
This. They also need to push an appearance in the next James Bond. With an insider joke of an enemy thinking the gun has jammed and getting owned by Bond.

The gun works but, you need a break-in period.
Correct. It takes about 300 rounds of full-power ammo to break in both the gun and the magazines. I think Remington should have coated the magazine lips with a self-lubricating metal treatment and added anti-dive characteristics to the magazine follower, but it works well with high power good quality ammo. Mine loves the Federal American Eagle 124 gr ball for plinking - NATO spec, so hot but nice thanks to the gas operation.
My gen2 doesn't work, Remington couldn't even fix it.

It is kinda funny that in the real gun, the bolt (steel) slams against the frame (aluminium). A couple of shots and you have a simple blowback gun...

That’s not actually true. There are a lot of myths spread about this gun; unfortunate how they seem to sprout like weeds.

You animation is awesome! The only problem is you depict the gun working. The real life version doesn't really work. It's s lemon. Rem supposedly tried to fix it. Supposedly. The new ones don't work any better.

Matthew Costa Your in the minority. Just because *yours* magically works doesn't mean they all do. The problems with that piatol cause one recal already. They are also banned by name at my range because they are safety hazards.
It's a different gun than the first one. The comment about them being banned is hogwash and you know it. I doubt you've ever even been to a gun range.

The Remington R51 is the biggest piece of shit I've ever had the displeasure of having anything to do with. It's unreliable, poorly manufactured and no gunsmith will even bother with it. The R51 is probably what put Big Green out of business.
