For proper aligment of the markers the insert should be put in with the bezel already mounted.
If you align it properly it's not a seiko any more.
@@user-rt1hf8jr7l Hee hee! 😂😂😂
I did this with my skx007, easy to do and really makes the watch look very expensive especially with a low dome sapphire crystal
Thanks! I have this exact insert from LCBI.
Wow you pop the bezel so easy. I used the same tool but could not get the bezel out then I used a Swiss knife which was a bad move because I made a deep scratch on it regretly.
great tip! thanks
Hi there! Cool and simple tutorial:)
Just wondering; is that a stock hardlex crystal or domed? I was thinking about changing the insert but was told that it would create a gap between the crystal and the bezel; unless you replace the stock crystal with a domed crystal. Appreciate your help, cheers:)
Thanks!!!! Super helpful
If you are ocd with the pip lining up perfectly do not do it this way. Put the bezel on first and then line up the insert to 12 o clock
Jonathan Ham Good idea! Thanks.
Spot on, thats exactly what I did after being told how to do it 👍
Also for the OCD folks like myself, take $3 and 10 seconds to add some contact cement to the outer edge of the bezel. If you don't glue the new bezel insert down and you go swimming with the watch often, the bezel insert WILL fall off eventually. Instead of worrying about your bezel every time you're in the water just take a few seconds to glue it properly. Watch on, I'm not trying to undermine your video bc I appreciate it and respect what has worked for you. Just adding a tip from experience. Cheers guys.
What difference does that make ?
That GMT bezel insert looks great. Makes the watch look much newer and more up to date. Cheers.
GEARY Thank you. It’s cool how a new insert can make the SKX look completely different. Cheers, Anders.
Tack så mycket.
Could this be done with citizen promaster?
Hello Sir.... Can you tell me please the dimension of the bezel insert..... Thank You. Nice video btw
Be careful if you’re working on a 7002 (predecessor to the skx). There’s a very small ball bearing just below the bezel that you can easily lose
Hi there. Thanks for the helpful video. Is it important to glue the new bezel insert? I noticed you didn't do it compared to some other videos on youtube.
Hi. I have had no problem not glueing the bezel it depends if there’s enough glue left.
Best regards,
Anders
Watch On Sounds good. Thanks.
I am waiting for a red-blue ceramic bezel for the SKX 😎
I want to buy SEIKO AUTOMATIC TUNA SRPA81K1
but im so confuse. What is ceramic on it? Shroud?
Ceramic how? Metal ceramic Plated, or full shroud from ceramic and no metal?
And why ceramic? How tough it is?
How to buy a watch with ceramic parts?
Let's say you walk and swing your hands and by mistake you hit a corner and chip the ceramic. I will be pist off. What watch is that? To wear, or to look at it? 🤔
The insert is glued after setting the bezel to center the marks.
Great tutorial. Thank you.
Could you tell me what is the size of the ceramic bezel insert? i want to order from alibaba but don't know what size to pick. cheers!
Hi Alexander. I belive it's 38.13mm. You can read more about it here: www.thewatchsite.com/21-japanese-watch-discussion-forum/15326-bezel-insert-sizes.html
What musik it is? Bach? I can´t Shazam this. :-/
thanks for this video! I noticed you just slipped on the new insert without any glue or tape. Will the insert drop off without any glue ?
Brandon Lau Hi Brandon. There’s glue on the bezel. I didn’t remove the old glue. Best regards, Anders.
Shadowman84FS just left the old glue. Never had a problem.
Shadowman84FS You’re welcome :)
what is that tool called? the tool like a small knife but without sharp edge, can u gimme a name a link, thank u
Hi. I would buy a complete watch tool set like this: www.amazon.com/dp/B076K2925G/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B076K2925G&pd_rd_wg=9Ueyk&pd_rd_r=SFWFYX80XFDRZ36MF6M8&pd_rd_w=zp4h6
Nice mod. Skx is the best watch to play around with mod as there are many aftermarket parts available for skx. I have done modification on seiko watches. Already uploaded a few of them on your channel and manh more coming soon. Please take a look at my mods and advise too. Thanks.
Do you know if they make this green ceramic bezel in the size of the SKX013?
And also: Happy 2018!
oscar gustavo arcos ruiz Hi, try to write them. Maybe they do make them. Happy new year.
They have the pepsi ones tho
By bezel cannot rotate
Hi Watch on,
Hi viewers,
could you please tell me where I can buy bezel inserts? I was looking on eBay but couldn't find any.
Can you recommend a seller or a trustful website?
Thanks a lot.
Ben Jammin_Duisburg Hi Ben. Check out:
Dagaz watches and Lumed Ceramic Inserts. Best regards, Anders.
@@TimeAndCrown Thanks a lot
make sure the gasket isnt pretruding or it will not rotate. just an afterthought .
Good vid man . The new bezel was TOO DIM .
Where did you get that leather strap? Its beautiful Makes that watch look way more expensive.
It’s a very nice strap. I got it from www.urremmen.dk
@@TimeAndCrown Thanks friend! They have English page too! Im getting the green bezel like you did too. Makes that watch look so classy and rich, with that great strap.
Jesus Perez Yes it looks completely different with that combo. Enjoy modding your SKX :)
Scratched the case of my watch with that tool, I now use copper Tool I made from copper pipe. I just hammered one end flat and sharpened with fine sandpaper. Won't ever scratch stainless steel because it's a softer metal.
Stainless steel on stainless steel, your just flirting with danger.
Your videos are excellent. are you from Denmark?
andypandy73 Yes 🇩🇰
I used to have an omega seamaster but sold it last year. what is your opinion on certina dive watches? they are reasonably priced
I think they are. You can compare them to Hamilton and Longines which are also owned by the Swatch Group. They come with ETA movements which in theory then means that they come with inhouse movements. Compared til Oris and TAG Heuer they are much more affordable and not far from the same quality - at least in TAG Heuer's case. Best regards, Anders.
ok last question I promise. Hamilton scuba or certina ds dive watch? they are both about the same price? £600
which would you go for? I like them both. the Hamilton is the orange and black bezel model (scuba)
Why take off the bezel when you could remove the numbered section and replace that with the ceramic piece?
You have to remove the bezel to get the insert out.
@@TimeAndCrown Why is that ?
panagranit pana You simply can’t get the insert off when it’s on the watch because of the crystal.
Cover up the case with electrical tape, before removal.
Why?
@@raphael2924 it makes it much safer far less risk of scratching the watch in the process if you have it covered with electrical tape
"Just randomly put it in" Eeh.. How about NO! Of corse you put the bezel on first and then be very careful to align it perfectly my slight OCD would drive me nuts having it a tiny amount off center all the time.. Also a tiny effort to put some electrical tape on the case when you are prying off the bezel would mitigate the risk of scratching the case.
Just a thought after removing the bezel how about using a bag of hot water to loosen the adhesive holding the insert? Is it heat sensitive? If so that would probably help with removing without bending it.
How about: YES!
To be honest, I learned a lot from this video, but DAMN, you didn't give a single f***k about alignment, I guess not everyone is that much OCD about it.
Do not glue insert in until the bezel is clicked back on if you want it to line up!!!
Really... you install the new insert with the glue from the old one.
I won't ever mod my skx...just a nato strap is good enough for me....
Great idea but you could have replaced it with a lumed ceramic dive bezel rather than a GMT one!! The SKX is a dive watch after all without a GMT complication. Great idea.......wrong type of bezel.
Paolo Marinaro Hi Paolo. The idea was to do something crazy. As you can see I also have a regular ceramic dive insert for the SKX. Best, Anders.
Thanks for the reply, Anders. Yes, I love the idea because I would love to get a ceramic bezel for mine but with the same colours as the original. :-)
Paolo Marinaro Check out my other video, link is in the description. I install a green ceramic insert. I believe that the company has many other colours :)
Thanks, Anders. Will do!
You won,t be working on any of my watches with those "techniques" !!!!
Nice hat. It’s an old man’s hat.
Why thank you......Your appreciation is welcome......;)
why would u not clean n re glue... poor form brother
I’m too lazy 😉
@@TimeAndCrown lol
How can you clean the glue of? What do you use??
@@sepp540 he said he lazy.. Use a rubbing alchol
I would have simply purchased a new bezel and leave the original alone.
Refitting the insert is always the last job on a replacement bezel insert fitting. Anyone with basic knowledge knows that.
