  • I set out on a 2 day adventure to find a rare (in my region) snake species that I've never found before. Along the way I find as many other cool animals as possible.

    ive been obsessed with snakes since i was in 2nd grade, (i had lots of time to beg my mom for a snake since it was covid) but yesterday I saw a california king snake, it was so cool. It was awsome to see its defense mechanism, (coiling up to strike, and shaking its tail as if it had a rattle, but there was no rattle and no venom.) It was stuck in a road so I happily relocated it. I didn’t pick it up however just because I’m not a snake pro, im only 11 at the end of the day. But it’s awsome to see these videos!! keep up the awsome content!

    Great video. I love living vicariously through you - no snakes where I live (Aotearoa), and I'm also awful at seeing things in the grass. 😂

    Testing out hiking boots would a good addition to your channel. You are wearing the boots for the purpose that they are being sold as. The number of wears, time and cost. I was surprised to see your boot fall apart.

    I have lots of these guys living around my property! I also have lined snakes as well as DeKay’s. They mostly hunt earthworms and insects. One of my resident garter snakes is a big female, and I have several smaller ones that are either males or her offspring.
    I also have had a big bullsnake and a huge western rat snake living under my house, until they were killed by my neighbors.

    Once again, great video! However, id like to say that for as protected and sensitive as these areas are, you sure are showing a lot of habitat. Especially the google earth image, which pin points exactly where you were. Id hate to see that area become more publicity known. Keep up the great work.

    • @timinthewild
      @timinthewild  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks Nate! The google earth thing was actually a random field that wasn’t the exact location. I’ll definitely take this into consideration in for the next video, though.

      @timinthewild I really appreciate it. I hate to be that guy, but I want to make sure these sensitive areas protected.
