Walk & Dance Beginner Workout at home 2 | 30 minutes | 3000 Steps

  • Get your steps in with our new Walk and Dance Workout! You’ll strengthen your cardiovascular system, tone your muscles overall and improve your balance and coordination. It’s about 3000 steps, more or less depending on your pace during the walking breaks.
    Here’s the format. It’s a “Plus and Minus” pyramid-style workout: There are six exercises added one at a time in six rounds and then subtracted one at a time in five rounds. Round one consists of Exercise 1: Round 2 consists of Exercise 1 and Exercise 2…and so on until you reach Round 6 that includes all six exercises. Next, we subtract an exercise with each round. Join us and follow along - we’ll keep moving and have fun along the way!

    Thank you bothso much! I spent almost three years virtually incapacitated by daily migraines. They took me off some medications and the headaches pretty much disappeared. I'm 60, so the road back seemed pretty daunting. Discovering your videos was my way forward. Three months ago I couldn't imagine doing a 30 minute cardio video. Now, I can do 60 minutes and I walk 5miles a day. It's all thanks to you both.

    Another great workout!!! Thanks so much, April & Aiko!!! April, I love that you introduce new moves to keep our minds going. You make me always feel like if I mess up to just keep on going, love the encouragement. The different lengths of workouts let me pretty much daily do something out of your selection. It depends how busy I am. I have found myself trying to get extra steps in when I doing activities. Aiko, you always keep the humor going, which is so encouraging & makes the time go fast...I think you can read my mind. Thanks again, see you tomorrow.

    as a person in 20s who sits 8+hrs for work, this is much needed!! I just found out your workout from the 30mins resistance band and this one is a very good cardio part after some muscle building! and everytime i want to give up i told myself if my grandma can do this, i can do this. Thank you and your mom for being my motivation!

    Hi from the UK, I came across your workouts 3 weeks ago & loving them, as a 60 something retiree 😉 it’s now part of my 2023 daily routine (after walking the dog). I love mixing them up, it keeps them interesting, I aim for 45 - 60 minutes a day. Thank you both so much……..Kim 😊

    I have sciatica in my left leg and it hurts all the time. But I've started watching and exercising with you both..and it really helps me. Even though your steps aren't hard or strenuous, I do have to pause for a second because of the pain. I enjoy your workouts. Aiko really inspires me❤. Thank you 😊

    I really like this routine (probably one of my favorites) because it is of a manageable duration and the moves are enjoyable and as I get stronger I can challenge myself more. Well, there’s one move I don’t like, but I just substitute one of April’s moves that I do like and then I’m happy! I know April always says “Just keep moving!”

    Will definitely try this! I go to a mental health therapy group and today a lady in the group recommended me looking up walk & dance. So I did! My goal for tomorrow is to try this out ☺️ I am not a senior by any means (I’m 30) but an absolute beginner. Due to my mental issues it’s difficult to me to get out of my home to exercise. I tried another at home workout a year or so ago but it was too difficult so I just gave up. But this looks more like something I could do!

    What a unique twist on the pyramid! I got excited when I learned of the new structure of the pyramid and I wasn't disappointed. It kept my brain active and the moves weren't physically difficult, making it easier for me to speed up my moves and completing a move cycle even though the clock ran out. Please, please design another routine of this type, April. Aiko, you were fantastic. I always remember that it's great when the brain is challenged to think on a different plane and this kind of routine does this in spades...Anastasia

    This routine really builds up on you-- I'm sweating! I had trouble with youtube this morning, I finally got the video to run but it was very blurry and low resolution.
