A very beautiful mixing of hindu , Buddhist and Jain cultures of ancient India
It's purely buddhist temple. Avalokiteshvara later treated as Shiva. Buddhism was all over india and mostly the old temples were all buddhist.
@@bg8187 I am too Buddhist but it's a historical fact that ellora was never a totally Buddhist cave although it must have had shared dominance of sangha but there was Jain presence in the cave and it is confirmed that Hinduism came at last during i guess so yadav Dynasty

My friend asked me why it isn't included in world's wonder i replied if you include this in world's wonder other remaining seven wonders feels child's play 😂😂. I know 7 wonders are beautiful but India have so many wonderful places like Ellora caves, Elephanta Caves, Kanheri Caves, Ajanta Caves, Belur Halebidu, Bahubali Gommateshwara statue, soo many are there.
