Need an update on housing prices
Hmm, it seems apart from Wilmington, North Carolina has no medium or big beach cities. (Just some very expensive little towns.)

Is ocean isle Beach a nice area?

No, right now, NC is booming from the mountains to the coast. This market cannot hold and there are going to be some sad people when it finally collapses. Shoddy building practices, destruction of the environment, and greedy politicians, real estate agents, bankers, etc. will destroy our environment and our laid back lifestyle.
The beach town properties are expensive, relative to the inland properties, because they fetch high weekly rents from vacationers during the busy summer season. But compared to California home prices, they are much lower.
I'm from CA. Anything else should be affordable. Lol
