    Sheer cold increases in accuracy based on the level gap. For every level they have above yours it gains 1%. So sheer cold had a 34% rather than a 30%. Which does a lot more than most people expect, just like how 95% accurate moves miss so often.

      Treecko is just not good in these games, worst starter choice as it doesn't do well with most of the gyms and anything after..it also ironically doesn't do well against team aqua as most of team aquas pokemon aren't water types and super effective against grass types..they mostly use dark, flying, and poison types (if it was a viable option the speedrunners would of tried it)

      You lose to Wattson, lose to Flannery, and need to catch a Surf pokemon.
      You can grind or catch pokemon to help this, but than means you are now behind pace and will never recover.
      The only other way to save time would be if Treecko was better than Latias and/or Kyogre through midgame and lategame.
      It is not.
      It gets pushed in by Winona, has no tools to deal with Golbat or Weezing well, dies even harder to Glacia, flounders against Drake, and dies screaming to Steven. It is also constantly making contact with Sharpedo which, while I can't say for sure, probably means there are items you need to use between certain fights, and possibly some pokemon Sceptile just doesn't have the HP left to survive a hit from.

      it's something chance-based of "I either use the move I calculated to do the most damage or a move that I don't see as damaging", although the latter category isn't exactly intuitive. Also, the AI seems to be unable to calculate the power of variable strength moves like return. Also, the chance to either attack or do something else, seems to be affected by both pokemon's HP, how much damage the attacking move does and individual trainer preferences.

    • @aprinnyonbreak1290
      @aprinnyonbreak1290 Před 11 měsíci

      1HKO moves are generally treated as status moves
      The AI doesn't consider them proper damaging moves, and will only use them if they aren't prioritizing anything else, barring special AI.
      Basically.
      While Kyogre is outside of KO range of any of Walrein's attacks, Walrein will use any of its moves at random, unless one of those moves has some kind of "unacceptable" tag, like using Hail while the weather is still Hail, or something.
      As soon as Walrein sees a possible KO roll on an attack it as, it will try and use that move (or any move it has that shares a KO roll, regardless of which is the "best"), and will no longer pull Sheer Cold, same as it would if it, for example, knew Defense Curl.

    If it's to prevent kids skipping important world-building or where to go/what to do in the story, you can just add an objective to the game menu (if they haven't done so already) or maybe make it so you can contact the professor at a pc for help; sinc every pokemon center has one and you'll always need to go to one anyway.
