Question: Is there a gloss finish for the various printable materials? Specifically this figurine would look cool with a gloss finish. I wonder if you have experience with these? Good luck and thank you for producing and uploading.
@@Incorruptus1 Yes there are Gloss Top coats for the figures. Some resin also naturally cures in a gloss state. However, best bet is to use a gloss top coat to seal the figures and add some shine to them.
@@AzrachToys Yes I also think it might cover up the sanding and such, those parts will be better after gloss? Because that was my hint I could have given. Maybe it works/worked in it's favor? :) Would be cool to see a finish after gloss and before gloss. So you can see what it does. But they all look super interesting. I will start catching up on your videos. I sculpt and do this myself, just not have all the equip. yet. Good luck, it is fun watching your results. Thanks!
Could you imagine in the future, when 3-D technology becomes so prevalent and easy to use and acquire materials for everyday homes? People will be paying for models to download from companies or get it pirated kinda like movies lol.
That look more and more likely to happen in the not too distant future. It is very exciting to be part of this movement. Excited for everything these is to come.

I think I might to adopt this method. Hasbro's figures are to use cheaper plastic and just don't feel like they used to. Plus, this way I could get the characters I need in the costumes that I want and not have to wait on companies for years-on-end.

After removing supports with sanding you can use a clear coat it will bring the black back. Or use wd40

Nope, this figure is 90% a ripoff of a real figure (mafex nighwing) so in long run if this type of piracy exist it will be the death of this hobby

Mass manufactured figures have to be considered for customers of all ages so sharp ears and edges are usually avoided. I am glad you enjoy the sharpness on this figure.. haha the 420 likes made me laugh out loud. Thank you so much for your like and comment :)

Cool, I was planning to try Zeta for my first figure since he should be an easy beginners model but what I really wanna do is some Static Shock figures
Make your first figure as simple as possible. I recommend the goal should be joints and tolerances. Static shock would be very awesome. Best of luck
I feel like I wouldn't 3d print an entire action figure, I would just 3d print more accessories for my existing action figures
Very valid point. Accessories are a great way to make good figures great. 3d printing lends itself very well to that avenue.
For the support dot issue, the easiest fix is to sand it like normal to remove the marks, then paint the sanded areas with either a UV resin or appropriately colored paint primer. By using a resin you can smooth out any left over issues as well. If any joints have issues with grip I would consider disassembling them and using a small amount of UV resin or super glue to thicken parts of the joint. Just make sure you let it dry completely before reassembly.
I think the design is quite good, but I would change the ears slightly merging the shape of the human ears with the "head spikes" (bat ears) and perhaps make the face more angular. The original character had almost a cleft chin and square jaw. In the source material the cowl/mask slightly changed the shape of the characters face to make it harder for identification since it would impossible to remove material from the face of a human with out surgery the mask would have added it in strategic places.
To add more ab crunch I would consider finding a way to cut the lower abdomen in two and add another bar-bell joint.

Great work! I know you mentioned in a previous video, but which Resin are you using to achieve such good results?? is it a mixture? just curious

Have you thought about linking all the joints with the thread from inside? That's another technique i have seen where people thread back all the joints with stretchable strings inside the torso so the joints never fall off but if we have ball like joints for movement then it's going to be be hard to move arms legs since the stretched string will try to keep them straight. What you think?
I see what you mean. This is a concept popularised by ball jointed dolls, and early G I Joes used a similar mechanism at the waist. This would require me to re-engineer all of my joints so I won't be exploring it in detail. But the idea would definitely work.

I love everything the sculpt the paint it looks like it came from a higher end figure company, the only thing i would change is the head a bit i dont thing the ears should be jutting out as much i would take them off completely to make it look like its a tight mask or even just close them in a bit further to the sides of his head. I hope this doesn't take away from what i said. It's a beautiful piece of art.

Not yet. Transformers will require a whole lot of engineering and time to develop. I am mostly working on characters inspired by DC currently

This is just so damn cool. I do have a stupid question though. Do Batman beyonds wings come from his arms or his back? Cause to me it always looked like his arms and in comics the wings seem to bend with his arms. Reason I'm bringing that up is cause if they do, it would be really awesome if you did a set of wings similar to how the web wings work on the ML figures. And you could take it a step further and make a sent of bent ones to clip on too. Just an idea/question/suggestion. It looks really awesome. Do you have a superman?..... Whoops sorry should have finished the video lol
I always thought the wings came from his back but the spiderman Web wings idea is actually good. I think his suit is nano tech and can be portrayed to be either way. But great idea!

Just wondering when you said you recommend do you recommend that 3D printer to be used for action figures is good or just it’s good in general?
Any resin 3d printer can be used. I recommend the elegoo mars 2 pro and the uniformation GK two because I have used them personally and with good results. The uniformation GK two in particular has so many quality of life improvements to make your prints that much better. Hope that helps.

Hi There. Yes I use a hair dryer to assemble the figures. The resin I use softens with heat and the flexible parts can connect easily.

I have 2 printers at the moment. I primarily use the uniformation GK two and my elegoo mars 2 pro is my small printer.

I might need to think about that. It takes a lot of time and effort to perfect the joints, and im still always tweaking stuff. I'll see wheat I can do.

Isn't what you're doing conflicting with I don't know some licenses or something because basically you are making money even though it's your work as in calculations and printing and stuff you are still using a well known dc image to sell your stuff. Wouldn't it be better to just like create your own characters and figurines instead of using this? I don't find it ok man
I understand ultimately I want to be making my own figures but I love these characters so much. You could consider it fan art.
