Understandably you are far more picky about vid quality particulars than any of us viewers. I have to struggle to discern the detail changes you are referring to typically.
nice, it's finally on the level of GTA 5 traffic 😂
@aidrivr The AI's cautiousness, perceived as poor driving, might actually be its anticipation of unpredictable events, like other drivers speeding or breaking laws. It sensibly drives slower than average humans, who often disregard these potential risks. So, I wouldn't put to much emphasis on people honking because you're driving slow.
One thing to add to the Ai is that if it learn where the marking are. Or it has a built in map and from there it shows everything to which he gain its logic.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐10/10 -OY3AH!
As a European, the number of stop signs is just insane to me 😵💫
Yeah, is like the cities are designed to cause congestion
one of my biggest peeves i spot in this video is the red blinkers, it just pisses me the hell off as its so hard to tell if you have them on, why not just use orange blinkers?
@@justacasualguy13 Totally agree. All the new models from like 2018-20 are using same color lights for blinkers as they use for brakes. Very confusing and annoyting. Totally get you and I'm surprised how government passes these laws
That's because we have traffic lights everywhere
@@trenbolonie these intersections are the type that would have a triangle here, not a full blown stop sign or lights.
Absolutely hands down 200% better than any other fsd videos out there. Thank you.
I agree.
Chuck Cook has good use cases though
so it's like driving with a neurotic student driver! hell no its more work and anxiety than just driving yourself!

Your editing is constantly getting so much better. The perfect combination of dashboard and interior camera views, the yellow arrows with sound effect, the slow-motion replays, and the seamless transitions between outside and inside views are obviously a ton of work but really improve the production value. And yes, I like the wide-angle view, and yes, I like the intervention counter, and yes! Add a honk counter.
Really loving the binaural recording, too.
The new aspect ratio is actually better for most smartphones nowadays, because most of them are 20:9 or 21:9 now. As a 20:9 smartphone user I must say that the 2:1 ratio is the best, because it just barely doesn't cover the front camera notch, which is perfect.
Also the intervention counter is amazing, binaural audio is more immersive and has a lot of potential.
Good job, keep it up.
Came to comment, but found basically exactly what I would have said. Keep up the great work, love the videos!
Yup total agreement. Looks great on my phone
as a person that has one of those newfangled phones with a hole cut in the top of the screen for the camera i have to agree
I agree
Agreed
btw, i always love how you wait until there's a dull moment in the driving to mention things not directly related to the driving, like the video format for example. You never spend too much breath on those off-topic subjects and get RIGHT back to the driving commentary. perfect!
speaking of the formatting, I didnt notice it and dont mind it.
yeah, things like that is probably why I never feel like these videos are long.
You still have the highest quality fsd testing conent there is! I follow you for a long time now, 5th earliest patreon and I still appreciate every video you upload. Great job!
Thank you so much Aaron!
@@AIDRIVR the production quality is definitely the best on youtube. well done, and thank you for your content!
Making lots of excuses for the fails
@@AIDRIVRBabysitting a supposed FSD system lol. Kinda defeats the purpose of paying huge bucks for something that can't do the job
Drawing a line between navigation by route and nav by vision is very impressive. I wonder if it can figure out other ways to nav like using landmarks or highway signs.
Or on a clear night navigating by the stars. Who needs GPS?
Good thought
Mine still tries to take the wrong turn, and turn signals, which should be easy, are still a mess.
The new resolution looks fine. Nice job with the edit on this one as well.
Video resolution looks fine. Didn't notice really until you mentioned it. Honk counter sounds good. Also, would love to see a heart rate monitor. It would be interesting to track your stress level that way across multiple versions of FSD Beta.
What a clever suggestion. Maybe track the average of you and your passenger.
What would happen if vechiles all used ai to give each other info?
The turn signals really need to be fixed. I had someone cut across my driving path because they thought I was turning but really I was going straight. Improper use of turn signals can cause accidents.
21:19 I think you missed it, but that approach does have a yield sign, but oddly far back from the intersection. So it is not a completely uncontrolled intersection. FSD definitely should have yielded there.
Never even noticed the resolution change till you mentioned it, I don't mind it as no important info is missing and the top and bottom of the video wouldn't be showing the road anyway which is the most important part
I will add my voice to the choir: I only watch other FSD video's because of the unprotected left progress (yes, that one) and the others getting new versions earlier. But your vids are next level, it takes you a lot of work, I know, but you give us _exactly_ what any FSD follower want. The highs and the lows, the personal and the factual, and your technical skills just adding value to the content.
I still go back and watch the old FSD Beta videos to remind myself of our progress over the past couple of years... Its genuinely magical seeing the whole journey from boxes, goofy road mapping, and fighting a war doing unprotected left-hand turns to what we have today... Cant wait for part 2 and all the future videos... 😀😀
wdym Our progress? Is this fsd system the official Tesla version that got an update or is this some community driven developement improving on the official version? (just stumbled upon this video, I can't tell by the comments)
I was looking forward for a video from you every hour since the new version of FSD has been released. You simply make the BEST FSD videos among all Beta testers out there. I know you had some tough times before, so i am extremely thankful that it at least seems you're doing much better and that you decided to continue making Beta-Videos. Big big shot out to you, these videos are awesome. I love your commentary, your visualisations, your 3rd person camera on the car, showing also some more boring sections of the drive so that we can get a good feeling on how good FSD already is, just everything is perfect. Keep up that great work!
Full agreement with the first paragraph. Less so with the second.
The binaural audio sounds great when it's not clipping, and the 2:1 aspect ratio gives your video a dramatic quality. The counter is a good idea. Definitely some well deserved honks this drive. Your videos do a great job at documenting the changes in each release. Thank you for your hard work!
Your FSD drives hold my interest to the end. Your visualizations, commentary, and routes are the best, in my opinion.
0:20 Love the failure to yield to straight-thru traffic immediately into the video
This was an EXCELLENT video. One of the best I've watched. Very informative and very clear, visually. I have no problem with this format. Thanks for your effort.
It’s interesting how an AI driver is essentially an automated unit tester for the San Francisco road system. It’s excellent at finding all of the road areas that need to be improved!
Been watching as many FSD videos as I can for the last 2 yrs and your videos are by far the best in terms of editing, insightful commentary and video shots. Thumbs up from a Canadian FSD-beta tester! Thank you!
Thanks Eric, appreciate it! :]
Its getting more impressive over time. That is what we want to see!
so it's like driving with a neurotic student driver! hell no its more work and anxiety than just driving yourself!
Excellent update and some really wild behaviors. It is great to see it improving over time. I love the new aspect ratio because I watch your videos on my TV. It overscans a bit, so on the old aspect ratio things were cut off at the edges. I noticed right away before you even mentioned it, that I could see the whole picture now.
Im a new viewer (fan) and just wanted to say how much I appreciate all the effort youve put into this recording setup. By far the best one out there and your full commentary takes it to the next level. You have by far the best content of your kind.
I took time to think this over while washing dishes; you should be getting paid a handsome penny for imparting confidence in the system as you do. That has be selling the software for Tesla. Always candid about shortcomings, but at the same time demonstrating in a challenging environment how far Tesla's engineers have brought this ADAS. Aside from that, it's great to see the assertiveness that's been reached, it points to real progress. Finally, let's get you to 1M Subscribers!
Damn, this is getting insane. We're really getting close here
Brilliant video!! I'm always so happy to see an upload from you! Ratio works perfectly for me, all I would say is maybe take the sound down a touch but otherwise, love everything you do, can't wait for pt2!
Andy, thank you so much for this video! 11/10! Liked and subscribed! My wife and kids travelled many of those streets in a minivan in 2002. It brought back some great memories! That was some crazy aggressive driving at the beginning, very impressive. Sorry to repeat questions that may have been already asked abs answered, but… what year Tesla MS is this? Did you buy the full self driving or do you rent option? How are you getting the rearview of the car is it a camera sticking out of the trunk? I thought I noticed something. The overlay graphics are absolutely incredible. I love all the info you put up on screen! I don’t think you could’ve overlaid this any better than you did. It’s amazing! Sorry for rambling 😅
Would love to see a comparison video for the different aggression settings in the fsd
15:13 I feel like FSD should recognize signs like “Authorized Personnel Only” and ask the driver to confirm.
Haven't noticed anything different with aspect ratio watching on mobile phone, so I guess it's good if it gets you more views because you deserve it ;)
Love the new counters, honk counter could be a great and funny new addition.
I'm always happy to see a new video from you even thought it's "long" because I know I will watch it until the end and won't be bored even a second. Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you!
Best regards from Croatia :)
Your editing, audio, and video... even narration sets the bar for FSD YT channels. Would love to see you do a video breaking down all your gear you use to make these including the editing software used to put it all together. Keep up the great work!
I actually like the wind noise in the background. Gives the video a nice atmosphere, kind of like you are really there. And I love the idea of a honk counter 😄
interesting point - it's a bit like AIDriver added a music track as background to the commentary, but used a "wind noise" ambient selection - one that happened to be synced to the video. Not a bad idea, really - it's less distracting than other music selections, which is useful for those of us trying to gauge FSD's progress. And still works when he has the windows rolled up in the rain! ... wind noise ambient that wasn't synced to the vid would be a fun way to mess with our minds ... 😉
this vids are always relaxing while I drink my coffee. love it
By far the most entertaining content on FSD and even on youtube as a whole right now! Could the new visualisation be the Busses? At 4:40 the bus is not displayed as the usual semi!
I don't watch fullscreen typically, so the 2:1 ratio looks amazing in CZcams's theater/cinema mode. Props.
Love the new intervention and disengagement counters! :)
I kind of preferred the old aspect ratio but don't have strong feelings on that :)
Elon said the next version should use AI for the path planner, so maybe we'll see some improvements there! :D
2 video in a week 😻, we’re blessed
19:52 Cool to see how early FSD turns the 3rd pedestrian blue. Almost like it senses the three are a group.
Seems like one of the improved visuals is human walking animations.
Love the aspect ratio. Favourite thing though, is the audio - love hearing the cars pass by. Somehow the lighting is better than previous vids, too (though that might just be the time of year).
Very high quality. Happy to be a Patreon!
Ngl, I kind of get why it's illegal in my country now. It's not ready yet
When I imagine going through those streets for the first time, I'd be making much more mistakes and taking more time to make a decision. This FSD drives like a local. That's very impressive.
The moment Tesla tried to change lanes in the middle of intersection was so cocky, I'd only do that being local and very confident.
My mind is blown
I didn't think that was very cocky. If I had clear visibility and enough space I'd do it myself as a non-local.
Fsd saw that area to the left of the Amazon delivery van as a sidewalk; it appeared to me.
My favorite comment In the video was the autopilot knew the other car would stop when it made the holeshot around the delivery van at the end of the video. 😅 that's fricken awesome when we start assuming its intelligence level is that high.
I let it miss an off-ramp on purpose to see how it fixed the route. My passenger looked at me like I lost my mind and said I couldn't believe you let it do that. I said I was just wondering what it was thinking. They laughed and said it was a car. It doesn't think! I laughed and said then how is it? We were still riding along while it's making every decision?
I'm a robotics mechanic and everyday I except the car to be perfect in it's execution of some beautiful smooth lane change off a cliff. I feel confident ill be fine with the mistake as long as it did it well.
Great video again, and I like the video sizing and layout.
Great work capturing and narrating each of your FSD drives. Thank you for your efforts!
4 minutes in and I’m already blown away. FSD is so close. You can feel it.
Love this aspect ratio on my widescreen monitor and phone.
Love your videos. You almost got to Marietta Drive! My M3 FSD could never get through that street because it is way too narrow! Dont have your latest version yet. Will have to try Marietta Drive on the next update!
Great job with everything you do from the editing to the commentary.
As for the aspect ratio, I didn't even notice it until you said it but it perfectly fills my phone, Samsung GS9 screen
Small question, do you feel safe so far while letting the car drive automaticly?
I'm surprised at how consistent and decently reliable it already is (even though it's still far from finished)
so it's like driving with a neurotic student driver! hell no its more work and anxiety than just driving yourself!
@@ezragonzalez8936 Are you like a anti-Telsa bot or something lol? This is the second time I've seen you copy/paste this exact same comment
To everyone watching right now. We are witnessing history in the making. Once FSD is solved we will look back and just appreciate all the work that everyone has been putting into this massive project. Great video man
It’s always a great day when you post a new video :) Regarding the shorts, other creators split a wide view into top and bottom, so for shorts you could have the visualization on the bottom half of the video and the normal view on the top? (Without overlaying the visualization) Just a thought for how to get around the handcuffs they put on you regarding the aspect ratio. Or maybe visualization paired with the third person view? Either way, your videos are amazing, keep up the great work!
Great video! I really liked the audio in this one, it felt a lot more immersive. Seriously appreciate all the work that goes into these!
Loving the bigger screen, the trade off is worth it! (Aspect ratio)
Slightly odd comment here: how is this supposed to adapt to other driving cultures/laws worldwide? Is Tesla expecting it to or are they going to limit which version drives where?
Self driving bèta can only be used in North America currently, and tesla adapted the software for these types of roads. I live in europe, where, as you say, driving culture and traffic rules are vastly different (in fact, I don't think EU rules even allow fsd vehicles). When fsd goes intercontinental, tesla will probably adapt the software for different types of roads.
@@lukesepter3250 Hey, thanks for explaining that! I have been watching FSD videos for over a year now but in no video ever have I heard or catched that the FSD beta is released only in North America! I always thought the beta is being tested in Europe and maybe other continents too.
Well, if it's like that then Tesla will have to re-teach the beta almost everything anew when it gets released in India :)
@Sebas Tian here in the Netherlands, autopilot on highways and clear b roads is the most advanced autonomous driving we get from tesla, which is basically adaptive cruise and auto steering and auto lane switching on indicating. In that sense, tesla also doesn't have that much of a market lead here compared to other brands in self driving territory. For example, I have driven Nissans (leaf, x-trail, ariya) that performs similarly, and nissan is also able to detect roundabouts and stop-start traffic on b roads etc. in the adaptive cc and automatically adapts its speed for them. Don't know how tesla performs in that sense, and I'm also curious about the progression of tesla fsd over here.
And yes I can imagine tesla will have to re-arrange a few things for Indian infrastructure😂
We don't need to see empty sky, so wider aspect ratio is better in almost all cases. Since the actual camera FoV is much wider than the angle subtended by the screen when we watch, the wider aspect ratio helps the brain more easily interpret it, especially the 180deg view of the pole cam. I hate shorts on CZcams.
I quite enjoy the 2:1 ratio! Great vid as always :)
Edit: it would be nice if you could duck or mute the audio when the internal camera dies. Those beeps were quite high pitched and unpleasant, especially in headphones.
As a German I just about died when your car just cut through the intersection ignoring the through traffic, that was insane. Guess it was mostly just following the car in front of you? Totally unacceptable ... unless you're US urban drivers, then its just another monday lol --- on the other hand, the car finding its way out of the parking lot despite completely wrong mapping data is kinda impressive! The indecisive turn signals annoy me as well, and I'm just a viewer.
As for your feedback: I wouldn't even have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out - the difference is just not that large. The black bars + wide resolution are fairly common in media and movies, so it's not that big of a deal. Your editing and video structure are what's important, and you're doing it wonderfully! although it's unfortunate your camera died at the end - the outside view is a bit jittery so it's less comfortable to watch than the inside camera.
Audio is fine, I like that I can hear all the stuff going on around you, more immersive that way.
Yep, you can pull it off on a motorbike when you can aim at the lanes you're turning towards before you stop and have a tonne of acceleration when the light changes, but you probably shouldn't 🤣 In all seriousness it does appear like the oncoming cars weren't paying attention, so the first driver sent it. Autopilot certainly didn't understand the nuance of the situation
You snooze you lose.
I am saying this 2-4 years earlier than I thought I would say it, but: We are really getting there!
Great video, great voiceover. Thank you!
Really loving the stuff you're putting out recently, It's well edited, concise; exactly what I want from this kinda of video...
Great video as always!
Be aware that street sounds are kind of loud, when you have the windows rolled down.
You might have your reasons, but I just wanted to let you know, that you might intake more airpollution particles, with windows down, than through the Teslas HEPA-filter air vents. (At least that is what our measurements say in Danish traffic).
The second these cars will start communicating between each other will make self driving really reliable and effective.
It's feel like GTA San Andreas
not V?
I really like the wider resolution. Also wondering if all these drives are in assertive mode?
2:1 (18:9) looks great on my TV. Love the content and the effort you put in for your videos. Great job 👍
22:49 Humans 🙄 Beeing honked at for turning left is probably the rudest thing I've ever seen.
The Tesla can move a lot to the left though, leaving more space for other cars to pass
or it was another fan recognizing AI Driver
@@kempo_95 how would moving over like 40 cm make any difference for the passing cars?
@@RubenKelevra You can move over a meter or 2. From kerb to kerb there is space for 3 lanes. So you can move in the middle when you turn left.
New intervention and disengagement indicators are excellent! Maybe put a summary with all 3 (incl. honks) at the end (could be green if 0), so the location is consistent across future videos
You nail every FSD video! Excellent stress test as always ☺️
Shorts are CRAP. Please ignore. Give us the widescreen all the time. Always. Let the mobile kiddies convert the good bits if they really want.
Shorts are how you attract new people though sadly.
@@kempo_95 Yeah I sometimes like to wave my gf's boobs around when I'm selling lemonade too.. so yeah, if the point of the "short" videos made for mobile phone kiddie addicts is more temporary youtube cash for OP then fair enough.. :)
@@kempo_95 and as far as shorts go, these kind of videos are quite suitable.
I didn't actually notice the slim black bars on my 16:9 TV until you mentioned the change in resolution. Since the change is very minor I'd say it's ok for a while.
17:15 since you mentioned audio: I'm pretty sure you have audio channels inverted for this recording. I actually had to check if I was wearing my headphones correctly since I was hearing the left passing cars on my right ear... and the the right side passing motorcyclist at 17:15 on my left ear...
The big truck pulling up to your left at 18:04 being heard on the right pretty much confirms it.
Thanks mate for your very detailed commentaries. It might be a bit overwelming for some, but I like it so much as it's so helpful for a guy with severe visual impairment like me to follow along with what's happening in the vid :)
Wow that unprotected left turn in that intersection looked really tense, from the camera perspective it seemed to have been a few gaps but that could be wrong. That’s a really tricky area
Love this stuff man! Also an odd question, but I’ve been trying to figure out how to get this 2:1 ratio, how do you do it? Any different aspect ratio in camera as well?
You always have great videos. I love your videos. There is no need to apologize for small things like sound quality. Thank you for your videos.
the black lines are so thin on my 16:9 monitor, i didn't even notice them until you mentioned you changed the aspect ratio.
Really enjoy watching your FSD beta videos. I have tried the Beta a couple times in our Model Y. Keep up the great work!
Great content. Dont mind wider camera view with black bars. Stereo sound is great. I see new element i form of autopilot text/notofication extracted and put into middle of the screen. Like the content as well. Autopilot is getting very good. I would let it proceed. It seems its getting ready for Europe cities;-) Will miss your vids once Testa release new HW and autopilot will strat taking advantage of those new capabilities. Thanks. Watched till the end and looking forward to part 2.
Very impressive drive. It’s interesting that you thought this drive was too aggressive when people have been calling the cars too timid in the past. What kind of camera setup is capturing the rear elevated view of the car?
Awesome video! I was wondering if you have ever considered trying out openpilot (experimental mode end to end) to compare with Tesla FSD beta. Though the downside is you would also need a compatible car which you may not have
Excellent work man! Love the binaural audio (when it's not clipping). Aspect ratio is fine, gives a wider view so more context.
Keep em coming! Thanks.
thoroughly impressed. even though I watch several of these kind of videos all the time. for the video formating I actually didn't even notice anything until you mentioned it. All your editing is great and I don't think that you should feel bad for poor quality or anything like that. I wish so bad that I could be part of the beta testing program but I'm only 15 and can't even afford a Tesla yet. But once the chance comes up you know What I'll be doing.😀😉
Keep up the good work and I will definitely be looking out for part 2 of this.
I have to say, when you speed up the footage, the sound of the sped up cars passing by is really cool.
Was in a Cruise car a couple weeks ago and it did the exact same left turn from Divisadero to Lombardt almost hitting a Vespa rider. Something about that intersection really messes with self driving
I wonder if in the future road design have to pass the ai car test before it is implemented in reality :)
Great video... really looking forward to improved assertiveness (biggest pain point for me). +1 for the honk counter, and I suggest displaying these on screen continuously (small print for HD OK). Might even consider an AI DRIVR recognition / shout-out counter?
By the way, the exterior camera is more suitable for intersections and areas with more cars. In contrast, the interior camera is better for small streets as it provides a clearer view of the steering wheel. This is my personal opinion, but I think it's a good idea! Also, I love yours videos!
Great Video, Great Audio and visualizations.
No problem whatsoever with the aspect ratio!
Keep it going! 👌
dunno if u do but itd be nice to prep the same route for fsd and ride it every time new update comes out for direct comparison, with all the honks, disengadements etc, road cicumstances will differ yes, but it might be still cool to see, drive on the same time for traffic similarity
I do like the 1:2 aspect ratio as I usually watch it on my phone. Love your content man! Longer videos would be great too!
Great FSD video, AI DRIVR. It's been a pleasure to watch your videos over some years and see FSD grow better even as your CZcams skills and followers grow as well. I'm also a beta driver and share many of your experiences and observations even though our geography and ages are quite different.
Didn't notice the resolution before you said it. So it is definitely ok. I would opt for the 16:9 fitting my macbook size, as I 9 out of 10 times watch on desktop. But actually I did not miss anything in the bottom, as subtitles fit in the black area underneath.
Both resolution works fine.
Mine keeps changing lanes incessantly even on chill mode with “minimal lane changes” enabled - it’s making good progress but don’t feel I can let it do its thing for very long yet. Today had a super fast jerk to the left out of nowhere freaked me and everyone else out. Had to take control. Still… progress.
With all the bad press SF has been getting lately it’s nice to be reminded of how gorgeous The City can be. Lived there in the 70s and always glad for a reason to be back. Thanks for virtually transporting me.
Did you notice that in the end, when passing the wrong truck, the fsd was observing the car in the far back, even though it knew there was a car in front of it.
I think intervention, disengagement, and honk counters are all a good idea. Also, I didn't notice the aspect ratio change until you mentioned it.
The 360° video you took from the back of the vehicle like you are floating, what mount are you using? I have an Insta360 one-R and would love to get shots like this. I didn't see it listed in your equipment links.
Great drive. Lots of odd intersections / lane geometries make it pretty challenging. Screen aspect ratio is fine.
Aspect ratio on my PC seems fine, didn't notice the black bars in full screen until you called attention to it.
Great video. It would be super cool if at the end of the vid you had a screen showing the final count of disengagements, honks etc.
Definitely a nice breakdown of what's going on w/ FSD! great overlay & aspect ration imo. Turn signal weirdness is one of my biggest FSD issues at this point. If I ever see ya I'll wave too - '3ILLIN' plate
Great video as always! Resolution and format is for me very good
