- After having gone on a long journey of self discovery removing a transmission I finally figured out that all I really need to do was adjust the tension on my shifting cables. try this first, 19 mm and wrench and a few seconds should have you up and going as good as new.
Thank you for posting this. This helped me a lot. In my case, I had to adjust the cables. The other way around and my shifting has definitely improved. However, my 4 wheel 2 wheel drive cable is not working properly. I need to look into that next.
Outstanding brother!!! Thanks!!! I knew it was an adjustment and not the tranny, but I was absolutely going to start digging around in the front end!!!!
Thanks so much! so far it seems to have fixed it. I have a diesel 4x4 3010. My cables weren't loose but i did adjust it as shown and so far seems to be staying in gear!
Glad it worked!
Thank you for this my problem resolved now. Truly appreciate this
This fixed me up today. Thanks a lot for the help!
Outstanding, glad it worked!
Worked like a charm! Thank you!
Thanks. Ill give it a try
Great info!
Your dog looks so much like mine. He loves riding in the Mule!
Plane and simple thanks
I'm having the same problem with my mule. I just found your video and have not tried it but I will.
How is it holding up since you made the adjustment?
Still staying in gear like a champ, hope this works for you.
Tried it but it’s still hard to take out of reverse and sometimes slips out of high. Any thoughts?
Just got my throttle body replaced. Now it makes a loud squeak when it's in gear and I'm not moving. But as soon as I gas it it goes away. It also goes away when I'm in neutral. Any ideas?
Nope, sorry. I'm not a mechanic I just decide to tackle this project and ended up learning more than I wanted to. Good luck diagnosing your issue!

Mee after taking the whole engine apart 😆
Yeah, I learned a lot but wish I hadn't under such circumstances.
