- A lot of times music lost media never gets talked about because it only applies to fans of a particular band/genre. Well today I wanted to talk about the lost music of a band I really like, and regardless about whether you're a fan, the story is quite interesting.

UPDATE! Jon just posted on Twitter that his dad found a CD containing THREE Cricket and Clover demos! No idea if or when they'll be released, but he let the rest of the band members know so hopefully something will come of it eventually - twitter.com/iamjonwalker/status/1048692039485812736
LSuperSonicQ I literally came here because I remembered that this is the only strong piece on this album
He also found another 11 demos www.altpress.com/news/panic-at-the-disco-jon-walker-cricket-clover-songs-found/
holy crap! do you think theyll actually release them?
Why didnt he just leaked them for
Great!
pretty odd was so different because they swore to shake it up and we swore to listen

Wow, I haven't heard anything about this scrapped album in _years._ Those were strange times in the fandom. The memes... and the _fanfiction._ Oh, the fanfiction.
That said, I never knew the album was so experimental, and I can tell you why it was - drugs. No joke, around this time the whole bad got super heavy into marijuana, though Brendon had been a stoner since high school. I suspect there were other more psychedelic drugs sprinkled in there too. But yeah, that goes to explain a lot about their thought process, behavior and output at the time.
I was just gonna point out that they were ridiculously high when they were in that cabin. The descriptions of Cricket and Clover pretty solid proof of that (no sober person would come up with the idea to recreate a drumset with egg crates, wood cartons, and glass, for example) as well as Pretty Odd as a whole. I wouldn't be shocked if they'd dropped a little acid out there, too.
Kaija Schmauss I also think the beard growing contest happened by accident because they were so high they were too lazy to shave XD
Remember how Ryan totally failed at growing a beard? Man I made so many jokes about his lack of masculinity. Seems a little insensitive now, but I was 17 and it was just a different time.
Oh yeah I mean Brendon confirmed they were super high on psychedelic drugs in a recent interview
I think at one point Brendon said they were on shrooms also.
They were also on shrooms sooooooooooooooooooooo
Man this made me mad nostalgic for the old days of Panic
Literally forgot I left this comment wtf lmao
Pretty. Odd. is my favorite album of theirs by far
That's very interesting, because I think most of their fans feel the exact opposite. I have a deep love for Pretty. Odd. because it came out during a very formative time in my life so I have a lot of good memories surrounding it and nostalgia for it, but if I take off the nostalgia goggles I can't say I would enjoy most of it otherwise.
Samantha Port I think I have a similar reason for liking it, or I would think that, but having removed the goggles for a listen through earlier today I can honestly say I love everything about it- the nonsensical lyrics, the dreamy composition, the harmonies I know by heart to this day
beautiful, beautiful album
Briqt Wemmde I've grown to love it, but their first album is Definitely the one I relate to the most heavily.
Same!! I like fever too but I LOVE Pretty. Odd. It's magical
Briqt Wemmde I was in high school during the Pretty.Odd era! Everything from Reinvent Love rubber bracelets to plastering my room with Ryan and his sea green guitar. I still love this album, I think Ryan was the superior musical artists in the band at the time. I didn’t enjoy vices and virtues, to me it took Brendon a long time to figure out what he was doing but his sound and vision for panic has grown and I appreciate it so much after Pray For The Wicked. :)
I guess you could say they closed the goddamn door on this one
I'll allow it.
I’m almost 100% sure the lyrics in that photo are authentic. I remember when they were first shared online years back, Ryan’s ex-girlfriend, Keltie, has posted them either on her twitter or now deleted blog. She dated him during 2006-2009 but continued to talk about him all the time so she must have been holding onto them.
Brianna. What’s keltie’s twitter/last name?
Danae Radlauer Keltie Colleen. She had a Twitter years ago by the same name but deleted it a long time ago.
*and ilL bE HOLDING ONTO YOU*
Ouh music, Green Day's Cigarettes and Valentine's is interesting too as a piece of lost media
I was gonna say that it sounds like a similar case but not the same
There’s a song in the film More that Pink Floyd made their album More after which is not on the album. There is no version where it is just the song instead of acting as a background song to the film.

@@brianna8009 Sad. Just. Sad...
Nearly Witches is actually my 2nd favorite song of theirs (Lying is the most fun.... is the first), so i'm real curious about these missing songs.
Do you mean the demo version, or the version that eventually came out on Vices and Virtues? I'm curious, because the demo is quite a bit different in that it doesn't have the "ever since we met" refrain, and I don't think the original version of the song would have included it either. I did really like the demo but I think I prefer the finished song we got. I'd still love to hear more of what they created for Cricket and Clover, but I have a feeling it might be too experimental and weird to be truly enjoyable. I dunno.
Nearly Witches is great tbh. My personal favorite is London Beckoned.
Doombreon Nearly Witches is my favorite Panic! song ever
plot twist the reason ryan hasn’t released anything in years is because
1. he’s upset over cricket and clover being lost
2. he’s searching for it
3. he’s rewriting it
and/or 4. he knows where the hard drive is but he doesn’t have the rights to it.
lmao would that be something
rivers haley Ryan Ross knows something I don't know...
Ugh I wish
He said in the crankthatfrank interview he has it but cant post it.
I believe Jon Walker has at least one hard drive but because of legal reasons can’t release anything
@@nanapoohsmom4927 yeah he posted that his dad has it somewhere or something lol
I would've loved to hear Cricket and Clover. There's an album called Evelyn Evelyn that tells a complete story without traditional song structure that i love. Not that i don't love Pretty Odd, but i wish we coulda had both
evelyn evelyn? what's that?
Those lyric sheets are real! In the making of Pretty Odd there's a clip at 12:30 from the cabin of Brendon singing "...on strings, I feel like something velveteen", which is in the 3rd sheet as "I feel as if I'm a figurine, I feel like something on strings... I am something velveteen"
And at 12:49 you can see Ryan lip syncing to Brendan singing another song: "scarlet stocking sink every lash up in the harbour" (?)
And at 13:15 Brendon sings "scratch my phosphorus skin"
I'm guessing these clips were from what would have been a Making Of for Cricket and Clover, just like for Pretty Odd.
link?
In b4 P!atD fans literally ask the band for the album like a bunch of paparazzo.

I stopped listening to them after Pretty. Odd. To be honest nothing could top that for me. Every choice of instrument, every metaphor, just everything about it was everything I wanted in an album. The mix of classical, folk, modern, with a heap of Alice in Wonderland-esque magic thrown in. Uplifting, intriguing, mysterious, a little dark at times, observing the casual strangeness of the world. I was probably more a fan of Pretty. Odd. than the band.
Sir, your comment is ignored. Maybe a small reply can help your comment rise up?
highkey same
Pretty Odd. Will always be my favorite album
Pretty. Odd. Will always be my favorite, i like vices and virtues as well though if im in that sort of mood. But I'm not a huge fan of any of the other albums after vv. Doab was okay but i never listen to it.
MetroAndroid exactly.
Also, to add to the theory, if you watch the Calender Business video (the making of pretty. odd.) there are some clips of the band singing lyrics that aren't on the Pretty. Odd. album. I don't remember all of them, as a lot of time it had the video with someone talking over it when they were playing, but there was a part where they mentioned something about "weathervanes pointing the way" or something (and no, it wasn't to the tune of Northern Downpour, before you say anything). I'm willing to bet that a lot of lyrics that don't make sense to us off of Pretty. Odd. are actually references to songs that they wrote for the Cricket and Clover album.
4:50 There’s more songs since Jon on Twitter said there’s 14 tracks
* "Feather Fingers"
* "Fill Me Up"
* "I Don't Have a Shirt, But I've Got a Hat"
* "Phosphorus Skin"
* "Porridge"
* "Scarlet"
* "There Was Once a Man from Nantucket"
* "True Love"
* "Velveteen
he also said that porridige, there was once a man from nantucket and i dont have a shirt but i have a hat are made up and arent real
I admit I was a bit confused when I saw the notification for a lost Panic! album but glad that your covering this because I genuinely love this band. :D
I'm guessing you weren't a fan when this was going on then XD Makes me feel so old, jesus. I was actively following them during the whole cabin debacle, so I knew exactly what this was as soon as I saw the notification.
not gonna lie, i wish they continued the sound of pretty odd. sadly, that came from ryan ross i feel like. i’m honestly in love with pretty odd.
Y'know, Weezer also has a similar story to Panic's. Their second album was a concept album called Songs From the Black Hole. However unlike Panic's album most if not all the songs for it have been released.
Yeah thats gotta be one of the more interesting peices of lost media
Weldd Superfriend is on one of Rivers' solo albums though
TectonicImprov I was actually thinking the same thing
The thing about SFTBH is that most of the songs are released in demo form. They’re found on Rivers Cuomo’s demo albums.
Funny bc rivers and brendon made a song together called freckles. Never got released tho ):
Wow! I’m a huge Panic! fan but I never knew this album existed! Super interesting, thanks for making this video! Nearly Witches is one of my favorites so it’s really cool to find out a bit about its origins.
This is really interesting to see from you I didn't even think there would be that much info from Cricket and Clover considering it's so obscure. I wish there was cleaner audio for True Love somewhere as that's such a pretty sounding song. I think it would be interesting for you to talk about Songs From The Black Hole an album that never was from Weezer.
"To hell with our guitars!"
Explains why Ryan fricking destroyed one of his guitars up in that cabin by burning it alive XD
"It's the end of the electric guitar era" after using Spencer's drumstick 2 play it. XD
The fact I knew all of this all ready is sad
"Beetles"
Ummmmn that is not correct

I think lost media is really interesting so i subbed to your channel. I also love panic! so as soon as i got this notification i freaked out
3:33 Ryan also summing up his solo career.
Wow I would of loved to hear this album or a few songs from it even though Cricket and clover seems to be kinda messy. But I kinda like that feel. I really love PATD’s early work, better than their new stuff. Pretty Odd is a great album. Also I love the demo of Nearly Witches. I love the original but I heard the demo and I’m like “this is even better.” I had no clue about this lost album so thanks for making this video
I can't help thinking of "from a mountain in the middle of the cabins" in relation to cricket and clover
"To hell with our guitars."
They burned one alive you know
I love Panic at the Disco more than I love myself. Can't believe I've been a fan for over 10 years.
Music lost media is really interesting
In the 30 minute Making of Pretty Odd documentary, we actually hear them performing snippets of the Crickets and Clover album, like that song about Scarlett.
6:53 I don't think Brendon _can_ be straight with us
😂😂
As a hardcore panic fan, I’d die to have this album in its entirety. I love pretty odd, but it needed more, and C&C would’ve been a perfect tie in/prequel
I didn’t know that the nearly witches demo was from cabin album !! wtf !!!!!!!
Your playing Northern Downpour in the background gave me the big sleepies. Thanks. It’s pleasant.
Any day LSSQ releases a new video is a good day
I got sonic mania plus and then this video.
dont care
hurry up and find more lost copies of Kekcroc.
I was such a huge fan of P!ATD (still am) back in the day and I've never heard of this, wow. I'd love to hear any sort of recordings if the hard drive Brendon mentioned is real. I also found it weird that they dropped the exclamation point with Pretty. Odd. too.
I want to mention that, while "It's True Love" hasn't been released officially, an album Brendon Urie was apart of has a song titled "It's True Love". 'Razia's Shadow' by Forgive Durden has it as the ninth track. It is a rock opera, and Brendon plays one fo the characters. Just so happens that that album came out in 2008. Conincidence???
Fans got the Justice League Snyder Cut to release maybe they can also get the Panic at the Disco Cricket and Clover album to release
And also, the way they tried to make the songs reminds me of how The Moody Blues did some of their albums, since some of them had songs that went into eachother and told a story. For example, House of Four Doors is a 2 Part song, Ride My Seesaw has a beginning part that goes into the next, and theirs plenty more.
I do wish we got the album, it seems like it could have been great! Hope they release the songs they had.
Ghostgirl 708 yeah a lot of bands do concept albums, like My Chemical Romance and Green Day
That's a common thing with bands doing concept albums, particularly prog bands liked doing that. Viewing the album as a novel with each song a chapter title.
The Moody Blues, I'm guessing is just your exposure to that idea? Which isn't a bad place to be exposed, but yeah they were by no means the only or first band to do that.
The new interview with Ryan he said he had the demo
i vaugley remember hearing about this when i was younger, i hope we can uncover thisI was one of those few people who actually did like the album Pretty Odd, it had that Beatles esq vibe to it and i adored it so much, so just knowing there is an untold story of an album somewhere out there in the world? chills...
was snooping around to find anything I could about cricket and clover and this video taped a bit of that eagerness in me up. You explained the whole thing so well
Super glad you made another video about music. Your last one about the white tie affair was one of my favorites.
ryan ross said in an interview with crankthatfrank that he had the songs on a hard drive
The moment I saw the notification, I went "Let's keep these teen hearts beating FASTER, FASTER!"
Ryan actually has a copy of Cricket and clover. Search up his interview with Ryan.
I love nearly witches and I’m glad they released it and made vices, although it was a hard time, I love the album so much
i think i saw somwhere that "when the day met the night" was supposed to be on cricket and clover- didn't they performe it live just before they scrapped the album? it was under another name like in the middle of summer or somth
Thank you for this! I’m a big fan of Panic! but I had never heard of the cabin album until a few days ago. I found the same comment on the Reddit thread that you included in this video, and after some digging I found a scan of the Kerrang interview on a Portuguese fan site and translated it. I was wondering if anybody else had discovered this interview because I had yet to hear anything about it, but I just found your video and you covered everything perfectly! I wish we could all hear Cricket and Clover. It would be fascinating to listen to it after all these years, and to see just how far they’ve come music wise. Who knows, maybe someday somebody will find the hard drive! :)
Why are so many lost medias experimental and conceptual?
This is why my prog-loving wife can't find anything good
If you're going to do more music related content, is there anything you can find on mcr? Also while I know you hate relying on wikis, but wikipedia says nine in the afternoon is hold-over; any truth to this?
There are a few mcr lost things like a sister to sleep studio recording that was never released or the original demos for three cheers
the album MCR scrapped that was going to be made before they ended up making Danger Days was called "The Paper Kingdom" it was going to be a concept album about a support group for parents who's children had died. They decided this was too dark for them, and scrapped the idea. No clue how far they got in to making it though I'm betting "Fake Your Death" was going to be on it.
Ash of Eden I wish the paper kingdom was released, millions gone to waste
Personally, I don't think it's hold-over from Cricket and Clover. The lyrics are too blatantly about starting over anew, back in their old band practice room where they wrote the first album.
Ash of Eden I thought plans for Paper Kingdom started after Danger Days was finished
You’ve become my FAVORITE CZcamsr. You put so much work into your videos, and they’re so interesting. Thank you for posting this 💖
“It’s the end of the electric guitar era” ~ George Ryan Ross
We really need Pete to return the favor and do a drunk history of P!ATD I feel like it could uncover a lot
Im such trash that i went on a witch hunt for this album, later to find out that it was never released, the only evidence that it existed was that Ryan Ross had writed lyrics on paper and there was a photo leaked about it.
i audibly gasped at the “fill me up with porridge” because the first thing my mind thought of was “ryan was kneeling in the bathtub”
Woah woah woah. Can I just point out something *VERY IMPORTANT*. In Ryan Ross' recent interview with CrankThatFrank, he says that he has the Cricket And Clover demo's. But he just isn't allowed to release them. So the album does still exist but not publicly. He is a pretty loyal friend though because despite him leaving the band he still keeps them private. Also he did say he wanted to release them as well.
ryan ross just says he has it in an interview!!!!
I loved the band for what fun they had. How they seemed like such close friends. This lost album is a good example of that. Maybe its just right to keep this album never to be seen by daylight. Its a treasure that will only be considered as treasure when its not found, and i like that. Atleast we know on those songs were guys having fun in their youth somewhere on a hard drive inside someones basement.
0:30 According to the other members of Panic!, Brent was not a writer on A Fever You Can't Sweat Out.
1:00 might i add that i appreciate that 'piano knows something i dont know' intro.
I'm not usually the type of person to click on videos like these but I'm really glad I did! really well thought out and interesting! awesome job dude :)
Jon found three demos!!!
Yeah I couldn't believe it! Here's hoping they get released!
It kind of sounds like they were just really high when they thought of the album
In an interview with frank that crank recently Ryan said that he has cricket and clover, the phrasing was vague but it seems like he's put it together in its entirety (which could very well be like five songs lol)
and we thought they were high when they wrote pretty odd lmao
I don't listen to panic! anymore but this fascinated me
Ryan said in the CrankThatFrank interview (2019) that he had the demos for Cricket and Clover, but it wasn't up to him to release them. He also said that Jon would have gotten into trouble if he had posted them.
Sorry if someone else has already said this.
You included a clip from my channel in this video, thank you! :-)
One of my favorite youtubers and one of my favorite artists! Great video dude!
Jon and Ryan both fucking have them >:(
this is a really cool video, and it's interesting to know that "folkin' around' got used as a song title on pretty odd. (which is my favorite album by the way)
also jon tweeting about cricket and clover demos has the entire panic fandom shook
Missed you man, glad to see ya again
HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW
This whole concept of lost albums is really fascinating to me. Good video!
this is very interesting. i didn’t know about this at all. really great video! 👍

This was such a good video idea, amazing job!!!. I’m by no means an “old” panic fan (I’ve been listening for 5 years though) but I’ve done digging in panics history for sure and wish this album could’ve came about, but maybe it’s okay that it didn’t. I’d still love to hear it and I wish new fans knew about this album that could’ve been!
this is amazing thanks for making this
I love almost anything from all of Panic's albums but my favorite song has to be "Sarah Smiles" from the Vices and Virtues album
Fever was pure teenage heartbreak gold. I loved it.
I was a hardcore fan from 2005-2009 so it’s interesting to remember these things I’d forgotten about being a fan like when they played true love. I remember a lot of confusion in waiting for pretty. Odd. And being so relieved and happy when it came out. Good times
oh my gOd i’m only 1 minute into the video and i’m already hyped
my favorite youtuber and my favorite band? yes pls
I've seen them once and it was at a pop up with 400 people. Real underground. Met Zack, got in for free. Seeing them at a big show in February :)
i don’t think that panic! went the way we all thought, like A -> C. i think that though the difference between fever and pretty odd was drastic, the cabin album was the B part that the fans never saw. because of that, we just thought the creative process completely changed. the snippets of songs from the cabin album have elements of both fever and pretty odd, like nearly witches, a very upbeat, burlesque-pop type of song, and others, like it’s true love, carry some elements of both pretty odd and fever. so basically, if they did end up completing cricket and clover, or if jon ever releases the demos, then we might be able to see the thought process and finally see the A -> B -> C that we missed.
im suprised you dug deep enough to find this and avoid the fanon around the hotel note
