Bought one as a dedicated clearing saw and it came with a default circular saw blade - which is great for cutting down small trees at ground level. Dealer said that it was not really meant for anything else than sawing - confirmed by carefully reading the Stihl catalogue. He mentioned something about the gearing and angle of head being specifically for sawing. Also have the Husky 555 FRM which can take different blades - mulching, grass, line trimmer, saw.
Yes I agree with your Stihl Dealer about the FS460 CE-M K. A great bit of kit. Unfortunately you would need to purchase another gear head that's suitable to use spool heads and shredder blade kit. Yes the Husqvarna 555FRM and the Stihl FS460 C-EM you can inter change the heads

@@robertjulian7121 Morning The Stihl Shredder is designed for the Clearing Saw range due to the diameter of the insert hole. Though I believe there is another brand Oregon that has a shredder blade that will fit your FS240 or you can buy the Stihl Shredder blade and buy a a reduce on eBay. I hope that helps? Rob

What is tool to sharpen the 270mm 2 sided shredder blade ?
Also just out of interest, what about the standard 2 sided grass cutting blade ?
To get a decent edge on the shredder blade you would use a angle grinder. I hope this helps?
