English teacher here! I think she was using the story tense or the "historical present tense" when she said "I'm hot...Why am I no happy?" People tell stories about their past this way sometimes.
What is the "story tense"? Also I'm not sure what your point is because one can use the historical present tense to write a historically accurate chronology, for example:
21st April 1925, Elizabeth, Princess of York is born in London, England.
8th September 2022, Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom dies in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
This is historical present, is it not?
Using the historical present doesn't necessarily indicate that someone is telling a story, if by "story" you mean a fictional narrative (although I admit that I can't imagine what else you could mean that would be relevant).
Actually historical present is similar to how people recall memories, is it not? For example a hypnotherapist were to instruct a patient to go back into a memory and then describe it, the patient might use the first person present to describe a memory even though it is a historical event since they are recalling the past to the present.
In this instance Jada Pinkett Smith was describing her thoughts at a particular time so she should have said, "I was thinking..." which is past tense, then obviously to accurately describe past thoughts as they were thought in the past they would have to be stated in the present tense, so again, I don't understand what your point is.
I think a way to tell if someone is fabricating a story is to notice if there is too much narrative detail, too many plot holes filled in and so on. People don't remember actual events as well as writers fabricate fictional histories.

Iâve been a stay at home girlfriend, but it was more so because of depression/injuries from a car crash and not having a car. He told me not to work.
It absolutely made that worse. I could honestly say that for the year of 2021 I more than likely did not spend more time standing up than laying down. I can pretend, but it doesnât take that much to clean and cook. The psychological cost of knowing that you might even judge yourself for mentioning that he forgot to take out the trash is something to be aware of. I felt trapped a lot of the time.
I do think the place that Iâm in now -going back to school and aspiring to a higher income life- was very informed by having to rely on whether or not he kept his good job or or if he wanted to do the things I wanted to do (I canât do them if heâs not paying for it).
I mean, he bought a Porsche instead of trips to visit his sister, or take wine tours, etc. I wanna be the one with the money now. If I choose to drop everything and move to another country, I want to be able to do that. Iâve always been way better with money than he is anyway and I trust myself way more. I never had a problem with working for it, but the repetition of putting somebody elseâs needs and expectations above your own because theyâre paying IS something that you will have to pay for.
Iâm not even gonna mention what it does to him psychologically to feel like he has a whole lot more power in the relationship then you overtime. The second he offers you money to do something that you donât wanna do, is a cross roads.

When my husband took me to LA to visit his aunt and I started hearing all the trash in the town I knew it wasnât for me. The "Christian Wife" was probably not ideal at that time... and because Smith lacked discernment and wasn't committed to his then wife, Jada probably seemed to fit in much better and especially since she was already groomed for it... Now in retrospect Smith probably regrets his decision to leave her his first wife... However, Smith's family need prayer and repentance more than ever.
