In this installment of Saturday Sportster Todd gives you all the tips and tricks on installing an exhaust onto your Street Tracker project. Todd's in stalling the Lowbrow Customs Hooligan exhaust by Kerker on our project. Although this exhaust is made for this year range of Sportster, Todd has to do some light fab work and adjustments to the stock bracket to make it work because of the higher than normal shocks to give chain clearance. He helps you trouble shoot and think about things you might not of thought about when it comes to installing an exhaust for the first time on your bike. From loosely installing everything first, to tightening the exhausts in sections and making sure the fit is correct. 100in/lb on the exhaust nuts. I just finished my hammer 1275 kit and just reinstalled my exhaust. I had to look up torque values. I like the hooligan bike. Can't wait to hear it run and see the finished product
With that 3/8 ratchet I guarantee they are not under torqued 😆
I've got about 20k on a 1250 kit on my 89 sporster and i love it. Just picked up another project sporster for $500 because I'm so cheap into it I'm considering doing the 1275 kit. Have you got to ride it yet?

@@ericweber1969 i am always browsing Facebook marketplace being medically retired i have the time and i catch deals like that often you just have to be the first one that sees it and get there first. The bike is all there just completely torn apart. Someone wanted to paint it and got in over their head. Either way someone bought the house with the bike in pieces in the garage wanted it gone so I scooped it up cheap with no title. Took a little work with a trip to the dmv I got ahold of the last owner and just got the title. So now I can start putting it together. I thought i was going to have to part it out but now im tossing around build ideas in my head. I'm leaning towards doing a hardtail on this one.

For what it's worth, on my similar build, Bassani Road Rage III I had to make an entire hanger from scratch. I'm still belt driven, but using 14.25" shocks had massive clearance issues. Given how many people are jacking these up, I see a market for pre made brackets.

Man this exhaust install takes me back to high school. I thought it was gonna be an easy Peasy job but a fmf header and a pro circuit muffler don’t quite go together on my xr650r

Suggestion for riders is after a few rides, hot and cold cycles one a new exhaust, to check those nuts at the heads one more time!

Where can we find the skidplate? It's not listed on the parts list.
I have a question on my 1994 hugger 883 my oil is blowing out of the oil tank and no one can figure out y any ideas I have taken oil out cause I've been told it's to fule but not the Cass it falls in the casses and pumps up to the oil jug I dnt know ant ideas
Over full. If you have too much oil in there it's going to blow out somewhere, and most easiest places is your oil tank filler hole. When you do an oil change if your bike has been sitting for a while, there is oil sitting in the engine, if you put a full 3 quarts in with out running the bike, you will be over full. Thats just one instance of what it could be.
