I just love how Del Toro never stopped loving his monsters, even if they didn't bring him awards or didn't make him a Big Shot in Hollywood... Directors now-a-days tend to forget why they started making movies in the first place, Spielberg forgot his first love, Science-Fiction and Nolan made an Oscar Bait as he was too desperate to win an Oscar. Really happy for This Polar Bear of Man, Del Toro's a cute Legend!

Dunkirk is a war movie that gets as non oscar bait-ey as a war movie can get. Barely any dialogue and it's non-linear. The filmmaking in Dunkirk is staggering.

Mankeerat Singh dude are u stupid? WAR MOVIES are most easily identified as Oscar Baits, that's what the Academy has been all about... Just another Nolan Fan boy who knows nothing about movies... Go away Noob

Mankeerat Singh as for facts to back my argument, NY Times has reported that 70% of The Oscar Statuettes ever awarded are for WW-II movies, movies about Holocaust, about the Vietnam War. Sorry for being Brutal earlier, but it is the truth mate. Nolan wasn't even scoring any Oscar Nods with this regular epic content, so he took to the genre most awarded... War. I take it, that u haven't seen "The Shape of Water"... It's not just fine Filmmaking, it's Poetry, the protagonist is a Mute Woman and hence the dialogue is as little as possible here as well. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association voted rightly... Del Toro got what he deserved... And Dunkirk won nothing, evidently it's going to be left empty handed at The Oscars as well.

Nikhil Sharma And by the way, I couldn't care less about who wins the Oscar. I hope Guillermo wins it because he deserves some recognition that he has been so sorely lacking.
