  • Our mineral collection is not just beautiful to look at. As a research collection, it is both a store of knowledge and a source for new knowledge! Regardless of whether it is minerals such as quartz or granulite for the production of porcelain or the use of minerals for technical innovations: minerals form the cornerstone of raw materials, some of which we use every day almost unnoticed. And without which many inventions would never have taken place!
By recording and digitizing all objects as part of our Museum Evolution, we are pursuing one main goal: to make these treasures accessible to the public. In order to always get new impulses thanks to your ideas and to design new applications for the future!
A film team accompanies the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin on its way into the future. On CZcams you become part of our Museum Evolution!
The earth is changing. Every second. For 4.56 billion years. But this change is happening too fast lately! This is shown by the speed of species extinction and climate change.
We are making the museum fit for new challenges, also structurally. As a place where, in future, a million visitors a year will be able to engage in an exchange about the preservation of our natural foundations of life. And as a place where more than 200 scientists are already researching life and the earth. We are catapulting the 30 million objects in our collection into the future - analogue and digital. For all of us! So that we can work together on solutions - for nature and the cohesion of society.

Im Rahmen der Museums-Evolution sollen viel größere Teile der Museumssammlung für Besuchende zugänglich werden und auch die oberen Etagen die Ausstellungsfläche erweitern - wir nehmen euch hier mit auch diesem Weg. :)
