Not sure how long this will last, but Best Buy currently has the Combo Touch for $30 off the original $199, meaning that it’s much closer to the $149 of the folio touch and a much better deal at $169. I’m assuming this is probably a Holiday deal, so I hope someone gets some use of this. Definitely going to pick one up after this video
Pinned.
Target has them for that price too!
Amazon has it too at the moment
Hi! I bought a Logitech Rugged Combo Touch case for my iPad 10th generation--a blue one. I bought it on the DWV site for $161.00. My case has all the keyboard features you just described and also has a strap with a magnet closure with a slot where I can put my Apple pencil.
I use a tempered glass screen protector on my iPad in addition to the folio touch and can confirm that it doesn't affect how the case closes over the display, so feel free to use it however you'd like!
Thanks for the info. Thinking to get one one they restock the case
I’m just worried about the sides on the screen protector getting lifted from the case
@@joetheclown1 i’ve had my iPad for 2 months and there are no signs of the screen protector lifting.
@@Bigdaddygas thanks this is the info I've been looking for 👍
@@joetheclown1 no problem👍🏼👍🏼
I have the Folio. I admit I’m envious of the Combo’s removable keyboard. But its inability to secure the Apple Pencil is a deal killer for me. I got tired of always worrying about the Pencil falling off, or digging through my bag for my Pencil, only to find it dead. Since I have to choose between detachable keyboard and secure Pencil, I choose the latter.
Same here. I absolutely love the Folio. I’ve been using it for almost 2 years now. I don’t actually want to remove the keyboard, find a place to put it and remember not to leave it behind. And I love the way the Folio keeps hold of my pencil.
This convinced me, thanks!
This is also convinced me. Also the things that hold the pencil can be help when openning the case.
I don't like how Logitech didn't include a magnetic flap to secure the apple pencil on the combo. It feels like they didn't include it on the combo to incentive some people to still buy the folio. If they would've included a flap on the combo, there would be no little to no reason to buy the folio besides the lower price.
I can accept the argument that the flap would've looked ugly or felt inconvenient on the combo as a strong possiblity, but if the reason is the former, I don't appreciate that of Logitech at all.
Very good assessment and I think (one of) the challenges is having the flap when the keyboard is detachable, but there's probably something that we don't know. I didn't disassemble my unit but it's there's a number of considerations like the larger trackpad takes up more physical space in the keyboard and the tradeoff between the flap and the trackpad was easy enough.
Thanks for commenting!
there is an apple pencil cover on the 7-9th gens clasic ipads but i'm not sure if there is a folio touch version for those ipads
You can buy a sleeve for the pencil
What I DIDN'T like about the Magic keyboard was taking out the iPad when i needed to use it for anything other than typing or streaming (viewing) a show. Something as expensive and easy to break as an iPad is I think should be protected as much as possible. Paying 100$ or 150$ more to be less secure and not really gain much in terms of features seems at best illogical to me. i returned it for the Folio but returned that for the combo. It's a smarter buy for multiple reasons.
Agreed
Exactly, since magic keyboard can't open 180°, u'll have to remove ipad from it when u need to write notes. And that is the main reason why I choose logic's keyboard. And also the magic keyboard has a very magic ✨ price 🥲
Still like it?
@@callancollins7708 yes
@@geebee44 Cool, thx for the reply
I bought the folio touch because I want the pencil to be secure. Also, I want to be able to open up the folio and quickly bend back the keyboard to use as a tablet. I do not want to take it off as I switch back and forth. I would not like to have to set the keyboard aside only to forget to reattach and lose it! I like the folio also deactivates the keys when it is folded back so not a big deal that it doesn’t come off. I used to have a Microsoft surface and that was the same deal, fold back and keys deactivate. I feel it is more work to detach. The guy in the store preferred his removed. It really comes down to what you prefer. For me, it was a secure pen and a keyboard that bends back and deactivates. I am very happy with it. Love the backlit keys. Did try out Apple’s keyboard but felt the ipad was not secure.

Didn't even know there was a difference until I saw this video. Super helpful & gave me all the information I needed to know condensed into 10 minutes. Not sure why there are complaints about the camera angles & demonstrations... Those were actually my favorite parts. I appreciated how you showed the conversions into "read mode", as seeing the inconvenience of the folio flipping back and forth led me to purchase a combo touch a few minutes ago. Awesome channel & can't wait to see more of your videos.
I appreciate the review…of my review! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
I love my combination touch! The ability to protect the keys by either removing the keypad or reversing it and using the iPad as a tablet is wonderful. The keyboard and touchpad are great!!
Very thorough comparison, covered everything I needed to know. Great work!
Mike, good stuff. Talked me into the Combo for the reasons you detailed.
Fantastic! Thank you. You absolutely answered my questions.
I’m using the Combo Touch with a tempered glass protector on my 12.9 iPad and it works perfectly fine 😊 This is always my go to keyboard ❤️ , even though I do own the Magic Keyboard. Aside from the fact that I got the white Magic Keyboard and it gets dirty so quickly, I love taking off the keyboard off the combo touch and using the iPad as an iPad. The only thing I’m upset about, is that the folio touch has a flap for the pencil and the combo touch doesn’t have it. Since I usually use a silicone sleeve on my Apple Pencil, the added sleeve gives me peace of mind that the Pencil won’t fall off.
This was an excellent review. Thank you!
This is an excellent review! Super, exactly what I was looking for. As someone who does reviews, I really appreciate the through and thoughtful review!
This is the most informative video review I’ve seen! Great content.
I appreciate it Divya! Cheers
The video I thought I didn’t need. Thanks for the complete review and advices. Considering buying of these.
i hope i will enjoy this for stuyding and searching and it will gonna help to get done faster at my study homework
1st timer to your video. I went with the combo touch because I like the fact that I can separate the keyboard and keep it moving. It’s great to do that especially if your doing drawing, playing a game, reading etc..don’t want to be holding on to a keyboard while doing certain things. Great video and I have subscribed.
Great video and one of only 2 videos I have found on CZcams about the iPad Air 4 version of the Combo Touch! Thanks very much. I really feel like Logitech have listened to feedback and made some very sensible improvements. Impressive and I'm going to go with the Combo Touch! :)
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, at least I know I was.
@@ItsCaputo thanks! Hope so and will let you know! :)
Thank you Michael, that was really helpful for me to decide which keyboard to buy 😊
Thank you! I'm new to using an iPad (required for job) but was undecided on the choice between covers. Your video was extremely helpful, will be purchasing the combo.
I'm glad it helped!
Very helpful vid! I just realized that combo and folio touch are two different keyboards coz they look very identical. Thanks!
You got it!
I just tried the Logitech combo touch in store, and man, that trackpad is just awesome!! its almost the same as the trackpad on the Magic Keyboard while being bigger. the key feels are so good, that I dont think I will regret my purchase over the refurbished combo touch on amazon which is just 77 USD, like a steal! I'm gonna do a review on the product in chinese later, which will be another topic. wish you guys a nice day :)) and cya :))
Perfect!!! wanted the review between the 3. Thank you! Going with the logi CT!!
Right on!
Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what I was looking for. I found both for $50 off at Best Buy. I think I am going to go with the combo touch, because it seems better in every way, except that it is less secure with holding the apple pencil. But I am going to put this most likely in a backpack, and I have spots for a pen, in the backpack, when I am carrying it around. Otherwise it connecting to the Ipad itself should work fine. Also the keyboard itself is alot closer to my Macbook Air M1. Plus being able to detach it, makes it alot more convenient to use as a stand, and when I don't need to use the keyboard. I plan on using it for sidecar.
thank you so much! my local tech store is having a massive sale and got the combo touch for almost half the price! thanks, this video gave me all I needed to know ^^
You're very welcome!
Great video, im for sure buying the combo touch!
Glad you found the video helpful! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼

great video! subscribed! keep it up mate
I currently am planning on upgrading to the ipad 11 and have the combo touch for the 10.5 iPad Pro and have 0 complaints. I love being able to detach the iPad and go into tablet mode and for me would never attach something to my tablet to prevent from becoming a tablet. I’d love to get the same set up for the ipad 11 but feel like the price is still high considering the ipad is my secondary/media consumption device.
Thanks for the comparison, went with combo myself. Delivery in next few days 😊
Excellent! I’m glad you were able to find a keyboard for your device. What else can I help you with?
I bought the Combo Touch and I LOVE IT!!!! It has all around protection great backlit keyboard, large responsive trackpad, and a very versatile case. Though I would love to have the pen area to be protected but that’s asking too much. I have a glass screen protector and the keyboard doesn’t touch the glass since the case protrudes on the edges and stop the keyboard from touching the screen.
thanks for the review ❤️❤️ really helps 👍
No problem Rendy!
I got the Combo Touch on sale at Target for $160 for my iPad Air 5! love it!
Great content and editing! Immediately subbed
Thanks for the sub Vanessa! 💥
Great review thanks. Went for the combo with ESR screen protector. Works great.
Good choice!
We got the combo touch for my daughter's iPad air4. I plan to solve the apple pencil issue with a piece of elastic and some sticky back hook and loop (velcro) attached to the backs of each side of the cover, just to sort of hold the pencil in place when everything is closed. She will be able to remove the velcro completely if she wants and we can also remove the sticky back velcro if it doesn't work out as intended.
Thank you for your introduction
I decided to buy Combo Touch 😁
Damn u are a really good reviewer as a tech enthusiast u really cover the areas and give good insights keep it up!!
I love love love the Combo Touch for my iPad Pro 11in 3rd generation! Best protection.
Fantastic content. You gained a new sub! Are you shooting on 4K on both of your cameras and what bodies you actually use?
Great video!
Thank you for the review…of my review! 🍻
great video thank you for your help
You got it, Bonnie!
Very informative. I'm in the market for a keyboard case. I love the convenience of the magic keyboard but just can't justify $300. Before watching this video I really didn't watch the differences were b/ween the 2 keyboards. I will probably end up going the route of the combo touch and just get some kind of holder for my Apple Pencil.
i had keyboard and mouse plus extra mouse logitech plus case and its amazing can't wait to see and i,ll might gonna try it too if its worth it
I owned the Folio Touch for a few months, and today I exchanged it for the Combo Touch. I'll be getting the combo tomorrow in the mail, and I'm very excited. The Folio felt very heavy and I did notice my battery drained more by being constantly connected to the keyboard. Hopefully the combo will be a different experience.
I also have a paperlike screen protector on my iPad and it doesn't affect it at all
How's your experience after switching to Combo Touch? Is the battery issue improved? Is there any other good/bad experience? Thanks! I am trying to figure out which one to pick.
@@DD-ry3zg which one did you end up buying??! I’m undecided myself. The combo touch is only $40 more so I’m kinda leaning toward that one.
Folio touch is a flawed case, I’ve had mine for 2 years and it broke yesterday for no apparent reason, after looking to see if I was the only one that had this happened apparently I wasn’t the only “lucky one” what happens is the ribbon cable rips internally from opening and closing of the case, sadly I ran out of warranty so I’m stuck with bumper case, which left a really bad taste with Logitech products
great detailed comparison...
Appreciate it Abdullah! 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Nice video
Found the folio touch at goodwill for like $10. Now I need a iPad Air!
Wow, I did not know about that I could enable the “Tap to click” feature until now😮. This makes it so much better to use this keyboard cuz so far I thought there was no way around the physical clicking at the bottom of the trackpad. Thanks for highlighting this, I’m literally a happier person now haha! I have not used the Combo Touch, but I personally would prefer the Folio Touch. I agree that the keyboard can be a little bit of hassle sometimes, especially if you’re using the iPad on reading mode, but the Apple Pencil securing feature is non-negotiable for me. Also, it is so easy to insert and remove the iPad from the case that lately I’ve just been taking the iPad off the case and onto my hand for easier and lighter reading/writing experience. Hope this helps someone who is confused between these two, cuz I was very confused and am glad I chose the Folio. Again, just my personal opinion, it is best to thoroughly think through YOUR own use case / preferences.
Bravo for a very informative video!!! I want the Magic, but how can you justify a $300 keyboard for a $500 (on sale) iPad? I can't so I'm ordering the Combo. Thanks for helping make my decision.
I have a folio touch for my ipad pro 2018, i find myself a problem about unable to use spacebar button properly, which in my case, the spacebar is not put space whenever im writing,, i had to press shift and spacebar if i wanna make a space between word in any apps.. it was not like this when the first time i bought it,, anyone can tell me is there any setting that i missed out??, any help would be great.. 😊
I have the folio touch and the Magic Keyboard and i do use the mag more but recently pulled the folio out and started using it with iPad Air 4 at home and use the magic with air 5 when out and about. The weight is the issue vs the magic
Thank you. Everything I needed to know. Logitech Combo Touch is my choice. Click + buy. 👍
Thanks! 😊
No problem!
Thanks for this review! Based on your in-depth review here I've gone with the Combo Touch. I'm in Europe and was able to get one for €167 so not too bad I'd say.
That’s a pretty good deal and I’m interested to know what you think about it. 🍻
@@ItsCaputo Will do! My iPad is coming in from the US (can't get a deal on those here unfortunately) but will post on how it goes. Needed to get the keyboard here for the right (Nordic) layout anyway.
Hey, do you happen to know if the IPAD Air 4 Combo touch works with 2018 IPad Pro? Really wanna know
I chose the folio touch due to being a user of the Apple Pencil and I could care less that the trackpad is smaller. I rather have the extra protection and price of mind. Both are great but I don’t see the extra 40 bucks being worth it.
Reasonable conclusion to come to!
@@ItsCaputo haha yeah using it now to log into my works VM, makes working away from the desk a whole lot easier.
With the flip to secure the Apple Pencil to me Folio Touch is a much better buy, and the lower cost. I use Apple Pencil a lot and I know that magnetic is good for temporary placement not good for travel. If I lose or break my Apple Pencil it is $129, if we take that into consideration the price difference of the two is way bigger.
Hi....is the Logitech folio touch compatible with the iPad air 5th generation?
So I have the Combo Touch for my Air 4 and I’ve had some annoying problems. The keyboard all of a sudden stop functioning and same with the trackpad, it’s really annoying when I’m doing some documents and I can’t continue because of this. Also, when I want to reattach the keyboard it sometimes don’t recognize it! Please someone help me with what should I do!
Any recommended tips to secure the pencil around the case like the folio but for the combo touch?
Thanks for the advice which was great. I had ordered a Folio and for some reason Logitech cancelled my order - after watching the video I have just ordered a Combo that is being delivered tomorrow! How fortuitous..
Glad it worked out for you!
Are use a tempered glass screen protector on my iPad Pro and it fits both
goated review
Imagine if the detachable keyboard was then able to be connected via Bluetooth 🤯🤯 one can only dream. Thanks for the video :) this helped me immensely
I wish! The unintended consequence is that the keyboard would need a battery and by extension would be heavier. Appreciate you stopping by to watch and comment 🍻
That would be the ultimate keyboard. If that keyboard could connect to multiple devices that would also be awesome
I have exactly that for 30 dollars I have an iPad 2018 but it doesn’t have a trackpad I can tell you it isn’t that useful tbh because it will slide around a lot and I tend to forget my keyboard bc I have to charge it and I still want to use my ipaf
But it is pretty cool because the whole (flap idk what to call it English isn’t my main language) is magnetic and you can place it on there wherever you want so you can choose how far away you want it away from the ipad
How to open the logitech combo touch case to protect the edge of the case?
Ordered the combo touch. but still wondering if a stand like the Twelvesouth + a compact wireless keyboard would work better. I know typing on the mech keyboard be more satisfying, but wondering about everything else =/
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it
I bought the combo touch shortly after I got my iPad , but the non-dettachable keyboard made the iPad too heavy when using it to read. I switched to the folio touch when it became available and I prefer it in almost every aspect. The only thing I miss is the flap: my pencil keeps dropping in my backpack, and I'm afraid I might lose it one day.
think you got the order the wrong way around
Hey does the keyboard yawns a little when you are typing especially for the middle keys ? or mine is faulty ?
Combo better in everything but i like typing on folio keyboard more
Folio touch is vulnerable… when you fold it a lot, then suddenly it is turn off dead. It happened 2 days ago. I had used it for only 1 year.
I wish the combo touch had the pencil flap :(
Cuz I like carrying my iPad with my pencil around and I move around a lot and I wouldn't want my pencil flying off. And I don't like carrying my pencil separately in my bag cuz that just beats the purpose of it being attachable to the iPad.
It just slows down the accessibility for me if I were to still reach for the pencil in my bag...
But I love the detachable keyboar :(
😢😢i have folio touch inside ribbon cable is sooo fragile in hinge it tears with just small force it tears
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Same typing experience
Logitech Combo Touch
- lighter
-larger trackpad that’s clickable
-detachable
- Apple Pencil is secured
Logitech Folio Touch
- heavier
- is a folio, so better protection
- Apple Pencil is secured
- keyboard is not removable
Hi, nice video. Thanks for sharing. Would you be able to tell if the combo touch sand color is compatible with the ipad air 4?
Hi! It looks like the sand color is available for the iPad Pro but not the iPad Air. I checked ax few different websites and there’s nothing available.
@@ItsCaputo thanks a lot.
This was very informative, thank you very much, but in the folio does the keyboard disable in reading mode? Thank you very much.
Yes the keyboard is disabled when flipped behind the iPad and THANK YOU.
@@ItsCaputo well this was really informative, because I wonder if I flipped the folio when I want to draw or give any pressure from above, should it affect to screen. but now if it's disabled, there is no reason for me to puchase the combo one. thanks alot!
What is the idea of detaching the keyboard, less bulk ? seems would be necessary to protect the screen and work as case right ?
For me, I detach the screen on this device when it’s propped up on my desk and I’m watching a video or while I’m in the kitchen cooking and I don’t want the keyboard to get dirty.
Logitech does not use butterfly keys on there combo touch model both models presented in this video use the scissor key mechanism other than that this video is pretty accurate
Both magic keyboard and Logitech has the scissor keys, the butterfly was in 2016/19 MacBooks. :(
Hi, i need an information if is possibile.. the folio cover , when you use it in tablet mode: with the keyboard face close down to the table, go in stand by mode? or is possibile not volontary whit hand touch keys
Thanks
Yes, that's correct. The keys do not work when you flip the keyboard all the way around.
Wish there was a segment on kickstand usability on various situations i.e. desk, lap, in bed, on couch.
Sorry about that but I can answer your questions if you have something you’d like me to test. LMK!
I have it and its great and I’ve dropped my iPad and it is still in great condition worth 600 dollars
I chose the logitech combo because first of all the logitech combo has a protective cover and when you detach it my iPad 12.9 pro is protected inside the cover therefore I detach it and when I use it detached it becomes another form of element where the keyboard is already in the tablet and then therefore if I get tired of using it when in tablet form I can go back and connect it and then it’ll be the keyboards Pad will be usable again Attached
Does your combo touch slips on drawing mode? Mine every time I draw or write something , my combo touch slips going down
No it does not but i'm using it in easel mode while sitting on a desk mat thats textured and offers some resistance. Does the hinge feel loose otherwise?
People dont talk about this enough, but the reasons that these cases are a no from me, even though they are really nice, is that unlike other cases they don't stand on their own without a kickstand, essentially making them useless for in your lap typing. These only work if you work from a table or desk.
Have Magic and Logitech and the I do prefer the Magic
I have a Combo Touch. It’s been about 4 months and i recently have problem with the ipad detecting the keyboard. Like the keyboard is dead. It becomes very erratic and unpredictable, i suspect it’s due to the contact point. Anyone with similar problems?
como puedo saber si para la gente mexicana el teclado tiene la letra ñ?
I have a question. Say I am using the folio touch and I want to flip the keyboard around and use the reading mode. In this mode, I would write my notes with my Apple Pencil. Would I feel the keyboard under the iPad? It feels like it might become damaged or smushed overtime as I am pressing on it.
That's a reasonable conclusion, which is why someone whose use case includes a lot of content consumption would choose the combo touch because of the removable keyboard.
I understand that the Combo keyboard detaches, but can it fold back behind the iPad like the Folio if you wanted it to?
Yes, that’s correct. You can detach the keyboard and flip it around the back of the iPad with the keys facing in.
Thanks a lot. Do you think I can put an iPad in a thin case and it still will attach to apple magic keyboard? So when I remove it it’s still protected. Thank you
The keyboard is magnetically attached to the case itself which transfers keystroke data using the smart dock connector so using a different thin case sounds like it would circumvent the design.
Hello, can we still unlock the iPad with the fingerprint if we have the combo touch on the air 4? Or will the protection also cover the touch id button?
Hey Amel! Yes, but you need to buy the Combo Touch made for the iPad Air 4.
I think that ipad keyboards are just great inventions and there are so many things that you can do with them. They are easy to use and if you do school work or just work on your ipad then keyboards are perfect. I would rather use my ipad and my keyboard rather than my laptop, as it is easier for travelling and you can do so much!!!!!😄
By any chance do you know if the outer side of the combo touch case is magnetic?
Because I have a detachable magnetic flap and if possible, will like to cover my pencil with it; since combo touch doesnt have a flap.
Let me check for you.
@@ItsCaputo 🙏🏻
Is ist magnetic?
Do you have a solution for the Apple pen problem?
