Just watched him for the first time on PBS..'Austin city limits'.....where in the heck have I been? This guy is EXCELLENT! So happy to hear great music....gotta get out more.....
I just came back from an AE show in Chicago -- he's still got it!!! He's touring w/ mini-big band (horns, 3 guitars, bass, drums, strings, gal backup singer)!
This is a band he played with for a number of years in one form or another. He appeared on Austin City Limits with them (except with Mark Andes of Spirit, Jo Jo Gunn, Firefall and Heart fame on bass and Matt Glenn Fish as a second cello) around the same time. It was an incredible show and included an extended version of this number. Hector Munoz is a phenomenal drummer/percussionist.
Wow ! Great video, and great sound, if all youtubers could put this quality out. And a special thanks to the band here, they definitely had it together this particular day, and yes Susan Voelz is the best ! .,... too bad she doesn't seem to be a regular these days ? In my opinion best singer song writer in Austin, Tejas !

Watch AE’s you tube video playing with his string quartet. They do this and another number.
Alejandro is a great human being, musician and innovator...
Killer strings, killer everything and everyone. Yow! This may be my new fave version of this.
The best performance of this song that I am aware of. Examples like this is what makes Alejandro my favorite singer songwriter here in Austin.
I love Alejandro. I love him even more when he adds the strings to the band. I have been a Susan Voelz fan since her Poi Dong Pondering days.
