- At the most beautiful location on the West Coast Main Line?
3 Peaks by Rail charter, Loram 37 and a mix of evening Freight at Carlisle!
Galloway Princess at speed climbing to Beattock WCML!
28-29 Jun 24
The Red and White Loram 37 sails through Carlisle on the morning of 28th June, en route from Slateford depot to Derby after runs around many freight lines in the central Belt of Scotland.
That evening we see freight at Carlisle with
Mail train
Varamis Parcels,
Intermodals
and
The 3 Peaks by Rail 2024 charter with Locomotive Services 57311 and Galloway Princess and a rake mostly of Mark 2 stock. Filled with enthusiastic walkers and climbers from across the UK rail community. Even the ORR was represented! This was its leg from Ravenglass to Fort William,
As well as heading north on the 28th we see it
heading south up Beattock at Crawford on the West Coast Main Line on the evening of the 29th on ots final leg from Fort William to Crewe!
It was my first time recording at Crawford, where the West Coast Main Line crosses the Clyde amid beautiful Scottish scenery on the north side of Beattock summitt! It has been a popular spot for many years with photographers and I now see why!

Thanks for another very varied selection from Carlisle.
The Loram class 37 has a striking livery that makes a change from
all the same colour.
I would like to make another vist to Fort William by rail, a scenic
journey that rivals the S&C.
Hope you are keeping well Leslie🙂👍💗
Thanks! All good here. Fort William and Mallaig would make a smashing excursion.
