Looking at all these cool rods reminds me of something. My Stepdad had gotten a 51 Mercury from some trade, or deal. It wasnt 'chopped' or anything, but (and this was years ago, when 'Rat Rods' were still sort of new) he painted the car 'Flat Black' and made some noise about 'Rat Rod Black.' The truth of the matter was that he was a notorious tightwad, and the paint was cheap. Anyway, I wonder if theres a class called "TIGHTWAD RODS?" The idea would be based on making the car spending the least amount of money! Just a thought.. 😃

Beaters as in rat rods and yes there is a ton of Rat rods at this show. Very nice rat rods.
