Always remember it's a game. If you're stressing playing it or not enjoying it, it's not worth your time.
Playing a lower tier faction or with meme units is also a good ego defense against losing :^)
Thats a good point. This video is for people that just want to win and get better by winning etc etc. There are people that just play for the sake of it and get better. Playing = getting better regardless

I think this is really helpful, not only more efficient but also better for learning the game than if you gave out good builds for every faction in every matchup. Method 2: Creating a Core-Build to be modified depending on matchup is probably the way to go when learning a faction. Sometimes i also just feel like cheesing in LB with very one-sided builds (with very mixed results), but thats not how things should work and not the way to go if i was playing to win every game :D

All jokes aside, great guide. I can tell a lot of thought went into not only what made a good build, but how to present it in a way that would be consistently helpful for newer players.

This lends itself to a 3 part starter guide. Learn core mechanics from this, watch video to pick your faction, watch guide on how to use the units of your faction. Keep p with patches and there you go: decent results that let you have fun.

Building onto your point- if you're bringing a unit that counters something, but that something doesn't exist on the enemy roster, it's probably a good idea to rethink whether you still need that unit. Dwarves are such a good example, because let's say you're fighting dwarves and your normal build has a lot of anti-large units that you normally take as a generalist, well dwarves have practically no large units so maybe there's a more effective answer to what the dwarves are going to bring. Or you're fighting Khorne/Slannesh/Nurgle/Counts and you're bringing a bunch of shielded units, there are very few units that those shields are even going to apply to in the first place, and it's very unlikely that they'll bring enough to make those shields worth it (if they bring any at all!). Or you're fighting Ogres and you've got a bunch of anti-infantry, you can probably nix a lot of it and replace with anti-large variants because imo the gnoblars are fairly easy to deal with (though you still need to respect them). Or you normally take Thorek Ironbrow on his anvil of doom to give that tasty miscast to enemy casters, but you're fighting Khorne, then save the cash by going on foot.

Ask yourself that 3, maybe 4 times, or until you can no longer think of anything new. Obviously it's far from a perfect method and combos with synergies you're unaware of will blindside the fuck out of you from time to time.
Great Video ! Just when you say « you need something to deal with it twice », do you mean 2 units or 2 groups of units ?
2 different ways in case 1 goes wrong.
Like enemy cavalry? Maybe some handgunners and some halberdiers, that way if the enemy has a flying unit that suicide dives your ranged, your halberds are still there for you

Do you have any good starting factions? Not too complicated, but decent enough to pack a mean punch
Easiest: Grand Cathay, dwarfs and tomb kings. High leadership/undead, want to play defensive so you dont move much.
Easy but also aggressive factions: Norsca, Warriors of Chaos. Very simple playstyle of grab a mixture of melee units and run at the enemy. Bring 2-4 ranged cavalry just in case
Its funny, i've been watching guides like these and following these videos and I've learnt so much about how to make good armies, but I've never ever been confident enough to try multiplayer, no way.
Reason is that I know I'll get blotched because my micro sucks so much

I like how deamons arent even a choice for you why, its not to the mainstream factions which is why there trash and i feel like im the only player of slaneesh lol
