And I bet in the third summary (Oathbringer) he will mention it in more detail. - plus he apologized have some respect. Or do it yourself
People forget this are 30 minutes summaries give him some slack. If you really read books, you it will come to you naturally. This whole thing is super sloppy. Like the last book summary, the editing is very choppy and cuts things out, such as character names. That plus the missing plot points, and even a giant glaring typo in the titles he added later to try and patch what he missed point to laziness. Why upload a video with this many mistakes instead of checking it carefully first, and redoing it if need be? The previous book summary he put up left a lot out, too. He's a very cute guy and seems quite nice, but both videos are pretty terrible. Sadly no one else on youtube seems to have a summary up, so this is apparently the only option.

Hey Dan, nice summary video. I just re-read the book a few weeks ago myself and feel like you caught most of the main threads. One thing you got a bit mixed up was calling the group plotting to assassinate the king 'bridge 4 men'. The only person from bridge 4 was Moash, previously the member that Kaladin saw most as an equal/friend, who knew one of the guys from this strange group from back in the day. This group turns out to be The Diagram, the one created by Taravangian, the King of Kharbranth, a small city, who becomes the King of Jah Kaved as a result of civil war he orchestrated by assassinating all the various kings and high lords. And Kaladin 100% killed Szeth, but it was Darkness (the Herald of Justice, Nale, the guy who tried to kill Lift in her Interlude, and generally goes around killing potential Radiants including that old shoe maker) who knew exactly where he would drop and had a fabrial that can revive a person in the short period before their soul leaves the Physical Realm. This was his rationale for why Szeth was no longer Truthless and could start again.
Also the Sword at the end, Nightblood, was definitely created in the Warbreaker world, Nalthim; you might recall he was created by Vasher and Shashara (V's wife) hundreds of years before -- they imbued him with thousands of Breaths and the Command to Destroy Evil. An Awakened Sword has similarities to bonded spren in that they are both the result of large amounts of Investiture focused to a particular idea and seem to have overwhelming power when fueled by Investiture but we don't know much more than that yet. Also, in case you missed it, Vasher is the gruff priest, known as Zahel, that teaches Renarin and Kaladin a bit about sword fighting and using Shard Blades & Plate.
I also think you'll find that a lot of people disagree with your interpretation of Adolin. As a character he has repeatedly shown that he's incredibly chill, positive, optimistic, and most of all honourable. Him killing Sadeas wasn't just 'him getting emotional'. Sadeas killed thousands of his men. Sadeas clearly attempted to kill him and his father. Sadeas then continues to attempt to humiliate and assassinate Adolin, Renarin, and Dalinar again and again. Sadeas acted without morals and did everything he could to try to embarrass, ruin, and destroy Adolin's family. Even after it comes out that Dalinar was in his right mind the entire time, Sadeas laughs it off and makes it clear he will continue to do everything he can to keep screwing them over. To screw everyone over. At that point, it's clear that Adolin had to kill Sadeas and he had every right to do so. It was what his father, as the Blackthorn, would have done. Not bandying about with pointless political games, but doing what had to be done. Sadeas' 'murder' was as Just and necessary as Shallan's murder of her father. If someone repeatedly tries to kill you and people you care about (and does kill people you care about), and essentially tells you they're not going to stop, you'd be more messed up to not do something.
Btw, regarding the part where you talk about Wit popping up in Shallan's past (putting powder into his drink); this was actually explained in Mistborn: Secret History. If you haven't yet, you really need to check it out. The quality of writing is far closer to Stormlight Archives than the original trilogy and a lot of the reveals tie both of these series together. The Cognitive Realm / Shadesmar plays a large part. And, like yourself, I wasn't impressed by Kelsier as a character in TFE but his point of view is really enjoyable this time around.

Mark Tilbey I️ like your interpretation of Adolin but I think there has been small foreshadowing that he will not turn out to be a positive force. Mainly Syl saying she doesn’t trust him and his willingness to kill.

Sanderson retconned this part and it changed after the first edition & audiobook - in the original Kal stabs Szeth with the Sil-blade, but Sanderson decided that kind of cold-blooded action was out of character (the fight was won already), so in later editions I believe Szeth simply lets go of his stormlight and falls from the sky to his death.

About to read Oathbringer, glad to have a "quick" recap! Thank you Mr Greene :)
Also, a lot of people are criticizing harshly this video... But come on, it's not fare:
    - This book is incredibly huge, and he managed to sum it up in 30min. Things that were important to you may not be for him, and vice-versa.
    - Sanderson himself is the first to say that there is no official pronunciation for his characters' names, every reader can invent its own.
    - To this day (April 2020), he's the only CZcamsr who made a summary of this book. The. Only. One.
    - Details are not important, it would require an hour long video. People who want them can go read the comments (and I salute all the people who provided them, it's nice to have complements to the video :) ).
Yes, I would have prefered something a bit slower, with more fan-art, structured with written titles on screen, more details, no errors etc... But many fantasy series do not have this kind of content, leaving no choice but to go back into a series where you forgot half of the plot. Just because this summary is both rare and useful as it is, it has value. And I don't want to learn how much time you spent on this, because frankly I wouldn't have had the courage to do that much! x)
I hope it will encourage people to make their own summaries for Stormlight Archives or other fantasy series, because it's clearly something missing for CZcams today!
Have a nice day Mr Greene! I guess bad youtube comments doesn't hurt you after that many videos, but positive comments doesn't hurt either ;-)

I don't think Shallan has the hardest past. she had one big issue where Kaladin had kinda small yet hard problems with trust and honour where he worked his way to overcome it but again and again, and he just wouldnt get a brake

I think they each faced hardships of their own and it can be argued both ways as to who had it worse

Shallam, shallome, shamamalama. I’m dyslexic and just kinda give up when it comes to fantasy names of people and countries. I️ could look up everyone’s pronunciation but I’d rather just have a small joke of constantly slightly saying it wrong.

I empathize with being dyslexic and fantasy names can be complex, but Shallam is distracting. I'm fine with people pronouncing it perhaps not like I do, but you replaced an entire letter. It'll be like if people started calling you Baniel rather than Daniel.

So naturally, I really enjoy listening to your channel and reflecting. What I wanted to ask, and maybe I just missed it(?) but did you summarize Oathbringer in depth yet? If not, would you consider putting one together before the next book is released? I bet there's a lot of people rereading right about now. Just a thought.
At any rate, thanks for the great, thoughtful work you do.
