- It's been 5 years since I bought my TV... figured it was time for an upgrade! This is the 49UF770 (2015 model) from LG - and LED Edgelit Ultra HD television with a beautiful design and WebOS 2.0 (so Smart features too!)

I am about to buy a LG TV and I still have not decided between the model 49UH6500 or the model 49UF7700.
What makes me doubt are the following points:
1- The use that I give to the tv is to watch blu ray films in the play 3, to see Netflix, and to use Play 3.
2 - I have seen on a Philips TV 47 inches in 2013 (using what I mentioned in point 1) the image INCREDIBLY REAL, it looks like a bit more accelerated in the frames or I do not know how it is said; To the point that it seems that you are seeing it there, you can almost touch the skin of people.
3- Before telling me about Full HD and 4K, I am aware of the differences and advantages of each technology, but remember that I saw it on a Philips TV 47 inches and that is a TV purchased about 3 or 2 years, is not new new of 2016.
I hope you can help me. I am doubting a lot and the reviews on the Internet sometimes say contradictory things; Like the home appliances pages.
I am from Argentina. I am 34 years old and I am a fan of the cinema and with this purchase I aim to have a TV that reproduces images as real as the ones I saw on that Philips TV model 47PFL7007G / 77.
For some, perhaps wait for 2016 sets for HDR and Wide Color Gamut if you plan to keep the set for 3-4 years unless you already bought high end HDR/WCG tvs of 2015 models.
yep no point getting a 4k tv if it's not hdr approved..4k blu ray is coming.

Was thinking of upgrading our 42" LG smart tv in the next 1-2weeks and the UF770v is a contender. Want to stick with LG as our current TV has been brilliant over the last two years.
Was hoping to see some sky or free view footage on your video but I guess it would be better if I go and see in person at our local store.
It's still £599 for the 49" too, great value for money I reckon.
+jonnygti Yeah it's fantastic though. The aerial port on the back on the TV supports Freeview HD, so the HD channels are really crisp and the SD channels are noticeably SD... but if you're sat far enough away from the TV, they look fine too. It's a really great TV though, I recommend it fully. Bought an LG sound bar for it last week too and they pair up wirelessly!

+Mark Hickman with our LG soundbar we have it connected to the TV via optical then the sub connects wirelessly. So the actual soundbar still needs a wire into the TV. But if this tv supports soundsync along with the soundbar then it will connect without any wires at all, you'd just have a power lead. Depends how old your soundbar is, if it's a few years old and not an LG then it won't have soundsync unfortunately
I recently replaced my old LCD LG TV which I had it for 4 yrs and was very happy with it for a 4K TV. I bought it online without seeing it in person. It is the LG 49UJ6300 - 49-Inch UHD 4K HDR Smart LED TV (2017 model). BEWARE. THE PICTURE WAS WORSE THAN MY OLD TV.
1) You can't see it if you are not at dead center facing the TV
2) The colors are not real. Faces of actors look like they all are wearing makeup.
3) It comes with about a dozen TV applications from Amazon, to Hulu, to LG Plus which becomes a headache as I was used to cable TV.
4) The remote control is a joke.
CONCLUSION: Don't buy it . Don't buy a LED TV. Buy an old LCD TV instead. MY HD LCD TV looks better in every way than this UK 4K TV.
I noticed that when the screen is switching between source, the black screen has white bleeding on the edges, is this common?

I will be using a Panasonic speaker bar with this set. When I set it up in the menu I cannot use wired headphones, they are muted. Is there a way around this problem ? Would be grateful for a reply. Norman Bevan.

Hi, just wondering what the dimensions of the TV stand is width and depth. I'm looking at buying this TV but my tv unit is a Ovid OV95W (has curves instead of edges). I would say that usable width of my tv unit is about 72 cm wide and a depth of 40 cm.... Is the stand of this tv wider then that??
can other apps than the pre-installed ones be dowloaded on the tv? and can skype calling work on the tv if the external usb camera is attached?

+darren taylor Good choice, Darren! I don't think you'll regret it. The picture is the best on any TV I've ever had... so crisp and with a load of customisable settings too (that I didn't show in the video)

yeah hopefully i wont. decided to get the 49inch as the 55 inch is 779 pounds whereas the 49 is 599. dont think its worth 180quid for 6 inches of tv. guessing the 49 inch will seem more than enough.

+Teo Tutulan Sorry for the late reply, Teo! It's fantastic. Picture quality with 1080p and 720p videos is great, even though it's a 4k TV. Motion blur is only really noticeable for me when I'm watching football on freeview, but I've not found a way to stop it yet. Sky works flawlessly though

Depends on the console and game, for example, Uncharted 4 on the Ps4 pro works with HDR.

+darren taylor Upscaling is fantastic! I'd say if it's in your budget, go for it - if not, then maybe find £100 more and make it in your budget? Honestly, if you get this TV, it's going to last you about 5-6 years in tech advances... 4k will be everywhere soon and you won't want to be stuck with a 1080p Full HD TV which was only a bit cheaper than one like this (in my opinion anyway!)

Currently HDMI only supports 30hz (30fps) UHD so not so good for gaming.
Joseph Campos ended up buying the Samsung JU6500. Bit more expensive but great gaming TV
Hey Joseph. But to play in 1080p by HDMI you can have 60hz. But on 4K as you said , maximum is 30 fps mate. This one is the only which can run both HDR on the market so it's a big point to consider if you want it to play with consoles, PC and even to watch future HDR fims on Netflix or UHBD :)

Depends what you want. Tbh a 4k tv is way more future proof than a 55 inch one, but if you prefer the size go for the 55 inch. Also matters if its for a bedroom or living room.

+NICK YOUNG It looks fantastic! It upscales well (no games are 4k, but they still look good) but you have to activate Game Mode so you get 0 latency between input and what you see on the screen. I've also found that I need to change the colour settings a little bit to get them to match up with what I'm used to on other TVs!

yeah I got this tv... blacks are average... And there is slight vertical banding (which I minimized by settings) and slight bleed common in tvs nowadays.

hi, im close to buying this and im wondering about the input lag, i really dont think going over 25ms is good, so can anyone tell me if this tv got noticeable delay when playing games?

I've had the 55" version of this TV for 12months now and I'm slowly growing to hate it. There's no HDR, SD images are awful, no itv player or 4 on demand. Amazon video refuses to play in UHD (although netflix does). Watching football is a poor experience. There's no support for freesat even though it has a satellite tuner. And the 4k upscaling is, er, poor to say the least. Netflix 4k is good. And bluray movies look very nice. If your thinking about buying this model I'd invest elsewhere.

+Joh Mat I did some research after because I didn't know what Wuaki.tv was but it turns out to be a rental and purchase service. Similar prices to iTunes! A pretty good range of films though. Not free, unfortunately!
