"End of life car" I know the feeling. I say that about every project. lol
I have 7 of them so far.
That’s dedicated work right there.
That is a great project; done right.
Dukes doing it right sand blast , etching primer and a good paint job! If you dont have nice paint and body work people dont care to look much further.
BBT stuff fits the best. Luckily Lind orders container loads of that stuff and sells it at about half the retail price. For us out here it is a game changer. Over there all you have is CIP 1 which is good because of the tax savings.
Very nice!
The sweater looks awesome on you.
I really love it, thank you so much brother. And it fits perfectly and it’s nice and thick.
That is a nice sweater and beatle
nice job.
I just picked up a 1960 Indian Red VW two months ago, love the color.
I can’t wait to see yours come together, great job on the body work.
The shirt! ❤️
Thanks
👍
I do absolutely love the interview video's the history stories behind people VW's are very interest to me, I have 1971 beetle standard myself in the middle of full restoration. I have a passion for these vw cars also I do love your channel keep up the brilliant work you are doing. From UK
Thank you very much. I truly appreciate that. I actually did an interview and went for a ride in a VW thing that will be up tomorrow.
We appreciate you sharing with that with us, Slade…. Duke You did a great job with the detail on that video . She’s a beauty already. Now I’m going to go over and subscribe to your channel.
Thank you my friend. I truly appreciate that.
Awesome video!! Thanks
Great video Duke. Thanks for the share Slade.
The only way to actually know if it is matching number's vehicle is to obtain the VW birth certificate from VW in Germany. As I found out, with my Dad's VW that he bought new in 1964 should have been all matching numbers, but unfortunately an unsavory VW shop swapped engines unbeknownst to him. The engine is period correct, but not the original engine when it left the assembly line. Good luck on the build.
I really enjoyed this video. You never know what you’re going to see on this channel. I love it
Always something different going on here brother thank you so much.
This is what I should of done. He is doing a great job with this restoration. The bodywork looks immaculate. Numbers matching yikes
Right? When I seen the numbers matching, that raised my eyebrows. That’s hard to find that stuff brother.
This is a great idea to add to your channel, wishing I had a small fraction of Duke's ability.
As you said, Slade we do the best we can.
My granddaughters 68 is coming along, your disc brake conversion video convinced me to install them.
I'm working on the door windows which is something I've never done before.
My next door neighbor has a yellow convertible Thing sitting in a field but so far he won't sell it.
Such a bummer because even though the body is in great shape the top has rotted away and there went the interior.
Absolutely I wish I could do bodywork like that. I admire what he is doing. Thank you so much.
The Duke has spend big $$ in that project so far.
Oh, absolutely, my friend! That car is being done 100% right! Just an FYI, that 77 will be here in a couple of days. Yes, I’m that stupid. I don’t even have the 68 done lol
@@SladesVWBeetle Glad to hear you bought the 77. 😎🤤
@vintage76vipergreenBeetle I thought of you right away, it just actually happened hours ago. Should be here in a few days. I’ll be able to go over it much better. It’s got much more of a solid base for me to deal with compared to a lot of other ones. Honestly, I’m kind of excited about getting a lighter model.
@SladesVWBeetle
The 77 should be a easy project to get back on the road. The only problem I see is the missing parts on the sunroof, like you said. I would make a list of the parts it needs and order them, before starting the project.
@vintage76vipergreenBeetle yeah, the missing parts for the sunroof are going to be a little difficult. I won’t tear this car all down. But I’ll redo what it needs done.
How did you get your fender beads installed so perfect.
That was SO informative Duke!! I learned a lot!
Can I ask who your transmission guy in Glen Bernie is?
Hey Duker, Hope all's well and healthy with you and yours. You're not putting a 327 in this Bug?
