  • When someone you love has died, is there such thing as moving on? Grief is not easy. It takes time. Grief is not something that we want to avoid feeling either. Grief is part of our journey and human experience. To fight grief is to fight what's natural. Instead, let grief guide you to be a more powerful being.

God bless you! Only He can bring you true peace. I'd like to share my best friend's story with you.
      Family Story
Little did our family of six know that Friday evening, September 24th, 2021, would be the last night our family would be complete. We laughed together, played games, sang, and enjoyed listening as our 16-year-old son, Ethan, played the piano for us. I packed a lunch for Ethan for a church mountain hike he was going on the following day.
My mother (who was visiting from out of state) and I woke early with Ethan on Saturday morning. He hugged me and smiled, never pulling away or rushing me. He got in the car, waved, said he'd see me later and he loved me. It was hard to watch my "new driver" heading out on his own that morning. As Ethan pulled out of the gate, I turned to my mother and said, "It's just so hard letting go." Little did I know how much "letting go" I was really doing. That was the last time I saw Ethan. He did not make it home that evening.
That afternoon, a friend tried to contact my husband, leaving an urgent message to call him back. He tried several times to return the call to no avail. As we were preparing supper, an overwhelming feeling of deep concern for Ethan filled my heart. I quietly blinked back tears. I glanced out the window, half expecting to see a police officer pull up to the house, but no one arrived. However, within a few minutes, a patrol car DID pull into the driveway. In my heart, I feared the worst. My husband and I went out to meet the officer, who confirmed our fears. Hesitantly, he told us our son had fallen off of
a bluff and had succumbed to his injuries. Our hearts were crushed; they still are.
Yet, in all of our brokenness, deep, continual grief and loneliness, our family has such a blessed Hope and assurance that we will see our dear son and brother again. You see, when Ethan was a young boy, he was saved; he put his faith in Jesus alone to forgive his sins and to take him to Heaven when he died. He realized some very important truths from the Bible that he would want to share with you.
      His Story
Everyone is a sinner. Sin is any violation of God’s Law. God is holy, just and righteous, and He cannot allow sin in His presence. Ethan realized that he - like all of us - had sinned; and his sin separated Him from God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ” (Romans 3:23)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)
He understood that, because of his sin, he deserved to spend eternity in Hell.
“For the wages of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23a) [Wages: price]
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
Ethan believed that Jesus, God’s Son, paid the price for all sin when He died on the cross - because His sinless sacrifice was the only thing that could satisfy the just demands of a righteous, holy God. Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb, but He arose the third day, triumphant over sin, death, and Hell. Jesus is alive today!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Ethan was sorry for his sin, repented (turned), and received by faith the free gift that God offered to him.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
“...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
Because of this great salvation, Ethan lived his life serving Jesus. He worked hard to spread this Good News to the world. He is alive in Heaven with Jesus today; and because of this great HOPE in Christ, we know we will see him again soon - not because he was a great kid, but because of his faith in the great Saviour!
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
      Your Story
What about you? What if you had fallen to your death that day - What if you were to die today? Where will you spend eternity - Heaven or the Lake of Fire? There will not be any parties in the Lake of Fire. It is a place of eternal torment for those who reject God's Son.
The Word of God is very clear that there is only One Way to Heaven.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
We did not know that Ethan would step into eternity that day; however, because he put his faith in Jesus alone for his salvation, Ethan was ready to go. Some day - perhaps today - you will take your last breath here on earth, and you will step into eternity. Where you spend eternity is determined by what you do with Jesus Christ. Will you accept Him or reject Him? You are not promised another day or another breath. Eternity begins soon - Are you ready?
“...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31b)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
“(...behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2c)

The sadness of losing your loved ones never really fades away, but just by remembering them for who they were, how nice they were, what they did for you..keeping those memories alive, and remembering them for all of the good they did for you, and others, trust me it helps. I lost my grandpa about 2 years ago. The pain of losing them never went away, but just by focusing on all the good they did, and how they impacted your life and just trying to focus on that. It truly helped me. Grief is probably one of the most painful things you can ever go through, trust me, I know. But just know that it gets better. I pray for everyone going through grief that you never give up, you keep living your life, and you have a blast doing it. I know it'll get hard sometimes but just know that you're not alone, and that plenty of other people are going through exactly what you're going through. God bless everyone reading this, and have a fantastic day. ♥

My brother committed suicide last week. I've sat around a lot and just let my mind run wild, knowing that you won't be able to say "hi" or tell then a joke is honestly depressing, I really wish I gave him more of my time. The way I've been able to deal with his loss is honestly just letting myself feel whatever I'm feeling. It hurts yeah, but I know I'll be alright and that it'll all be okay in the end. Knowing I don't have to stand strong and being able to go and talk to my friends or family makes me feel a lot better.
I do hope anyone else feeling this way will be able to get to the other side of this dark road and remeber that everything'll be okay. Just like the wise words of Erza, "Don't die for your friends, live for them."
R.I.P to my brother, who'll always be my hero. Love you bro 💚💚

Please, Jesus loves you and wants to give that peace you are longing for.

It really is difficult and a lifelong process. When you are having an "up" time, notice the feeling. When you are having a "down" time, remember what an "up" time felt like and know it will come back. Then feel the pain. Talk to the person you lost out loud. It's ok to feel that pain. They were an amazing component in your life...of course it is horrible they are now not there. Allow yourself that feel and gently tell yourself another "up" will come and ease it for a bit. As time goes on, the "down" will be farther out but will always hit you emotionally. Give yourself a hug and do a self care day when it does happen. Hugs

My wife died almost 2 years ago, right at the beginning of the covid lockdowns. She was the love of my life. I waited 46 years for her and just as I was about to give up and accept that there was no one for me, she came along and fulfilled all my needs. ( a lot of needs I didn't even know I had)
And then after 10 years of marriage she was (very) suddenly taken from me. I had a few friends but no family around me then. I'm trying to power through this because that's how I've always dealt with my problems eventually. Now I'm realizing that I can't power through this and I'm scared.
Thank you to anyone that has read all this. I'm open to suggestions but I just like the idea that someone heard me.

I am so very sorry for your loss. It sounds like your wife brought you oodles of happiness. Grief is painful and unbearable. It doesn’t ever fully go away. It seems as though you just learn to live with it. I am glad you were able to find a love as beautiful as the one you found with your wife. I can’t offer any suggestions that will cure grief as I feel none will fill the void of a loved one, but here are some that may help increase ones mood or resilience: spending time with my friends and family, self-care, join a support group, get professional help, talk to someone, allow yourself to feel the emotions that come with grief, journal, listen to music, be patient with yourself, or write a letter to your wife.
If you need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out to me. I’d be happy to listen.
I hope you found the strength to continue powering through this since your post. It is very scary and i can only imagine how this must feel for you. But you’ve shown a lot of strength and resilience these past two years.

I went to give flowers to his mom who made a memorial in their front yard. I couldn't stop shaking the moment I saw her. It all became so real. I just lost my fiance, the love of my life. I've been with many women but she was different and the connection we shared was a rare one. We fought through drug abuse and addiction but our love for one another was always there. Love is hard and we had some rough times, but at the same time that love and connection we shared was and is something amazing!! No one and nothing made happier than every night for 5 years falling asleep and waking up with her in my arms. It was her and I against the world and as long as we had one another the emotions I felt because of her were so amazing I have yet to find a word suitable enough or close enough to describe what we felt for each other. She was in a car accident and unfortunately she ended up with her brain activity ceasing to exist and a decision was made to take her off life support. Jesus understands and he loves you more than you could ever want to be loved and wants to give that peace you are longing for.

And honestly, I'm glad he was in my life. He wasnt just a pet. He was my only best friend. Someone I thought wouldnt betray me or leave me. But I'm not mad at him for leaving me.

I lost my best friend (my dog) two days ago, her decline was sudden and quick, I lost her within 5 days of going to the vet...It's the day after and this helped me release some confusion about what I was feeling and how I even proceed with life, without her. I know it's fresh, and I'm in the thick of it, but I intend to honor her life with living my best, and taking care of myself, so that I am able to continue remembering her and loving her from a far. Thank you for this 5 minute video, it helped.

I'm coming up on 7yrs since I lost my oldest daughter Marissa. After her passing I spent 18 months in bed, I couldn't function. I have been through LOTS of therapy and still am and it has helped, but I have moments like now where I'll have flashes of memories or feelings of her and it's the most painful thing I've ever felt.
I'm unbelievably grateful for the 9 and a half years with her, but of course I want her back. I've never felt such intense pain and sadness. I'm only here on this earth still, cuz I have another daughter that needs me. The hardest thing to do is hold on when you're entire being is telling how easy it would be to just let go. Thankfully these days are fewer and further between.
I guess my outlet right now is commenting on this video, which I appreciate and had good examples and ideas of things to do. So thank you to the creators.
I would also like to say to anyone that is reading this and who has watched this video my heart goes out you and yours.

Last month my wife and I lost our only child. She was 22 years old. Her name is Marisa, (one "s"). I share your grief. I will pray for you. There are no words to express the confusion and pain that we feel. My only and most genuine hope and source of consolation is my faith in Jesus Christ. I have no idea what you may believe, but in this time of tragedy know that God IS in control and is calling you to come to Him. His ways are greater than ours. If you are not a believer I am not trying to sound cliche, nor trite. If you are a Christian then you know that God does love you, He knows the end from the beginning and He has a plan. As confusing as your loss may be, realize that you and Marissa are a part of this plan. Trust Him. All of this is not to say that the pain and tears are not real, they most certainly are. But they don't have to be without hope. From one grieving parent to another, I will pray for you.

I lost my 5 month old baby girl just this Sept 2021. She has a congenital heart disease. I am praying so hard everyday for a miraculous healing. I am so positive that God will grant the healing of her heart i always though that she will grow just like other kids. Losing her is soo painful still cant accept it.. Got no chance to hug her tight and say to her ears how much Mama love her soo much for the very last time. I was so sick and afraid it was covid so i cant go near her but hen she got sick too so we decided to bring her to hospital. I though she's getting well my husband told me her temperature is okay, she dont have cough and oxygen level is okay then my husband told me one morning her oxygen level drops. She died in the hospital while im sick at home. Several days passed before baby returned home and she was already in an urn. The agony of waiting her and seeing her in an urn is so devastating. The thought of I shouĺd have done this and that is killing me .. so much guilt so much regret but whatever I do I cant bring her back. I know I have to accept it but it's so hard dont know where to start i.just want to think she's still here with us. I hope i could make through this.. I just want to be reunited with my daughter but I also have other kids who still need their mama. I dont know what to do.

It's still there and I know Jesus will give me the strength to keep moving. So again thank you for your prayers. It means the world to me.
As for your loss, I am unbelievably sorry. As you know as a grieving parent, you know there are no words to say. There's no understanding, life becomes confusing. I just hope that you and your wife live for each other and live through the spirit of your daughter that will never leave you. I hate saying this, but if anything "good" came out of losing my Marissa is she taught me and left to me a beautiful gift of empathy and compassion. I feel your Marisa did the same for you. Hold on to that. I know you guys will. We don't know each other, but we have a bond that most people don't know and I hope never have to know. If you ever need to talk you can message me anytime.

@@aimeesoriano9949 Hello, my heart aches for you and your family. I know there is no words. Sometimes saying nothing and just letting you know that someone knows how you're feeling, knows the pain and for you to know you are never alone. Be it through your God or other people like you that have experienced what you have. I'm sorry you were not able to be there with her, I cannot imagine what that must feel like. Please try your best to not blame yourself or play the "should've, would've, could've game." It will only drive you mad. I did the same thing to myself for years (still do at times) for our decision to remove the support that was keeping her alive. It was soul crushing to do that to myself. You just have to remember that you loved and cherished her. That's the gift we parents are able to give to them. I know you love her and always will and that's what matters. We unfortunately have no control like we think we do. It takes times like this to teach us that unfortunate fact. The only advice I can give you is live for her, live for your other children, live for your husband and of course live for yourself. We owe it to our children that have left us to do that for them.
I wish I had words to make your pain go away, but unfortunately I don't. All I can say is you are not alone. If you ever need to talk, please feel free to message me anytime. I will send my love, thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

That's why I came to this video.. I feel like I'm stuck in a limbo. As soon I saw the news, I immediately shook my head and laughed because I genuinely didn't think it could be true. I thought it was just a sick joke that became a rumor.. but the more I read, I realized that this is the reality. I feel so guilty that I didn't love him as much as I should have. I know it could never change anything, but he deserved all the love in the world. He put on a smile for us and we never knew he was struggling. I still keep trying to tell myself everyone is wrong and he's alive.. but then I start to think about how I'll never get to see him on stage doing what he loves anymore. It's all just a memory now. I feel lost since I actually knew of him and watched astro since All Night. I can't imagine how his family and members must be feeling. We were only fans and saw what he wanted us to see.. so it's hard for the people who saw him everyday. I keep watching videos of him being happy to help ease my heart. I don't want to believe it's true, but I know it is. I just never thought he could pass away. At least not this young. When I look at his pictures, I don't always feel sad because it's like there's this lingering hope that he'll show his face to us saying he's okay and not to worry.. but he's become a star now. He will live forever next to the moon. Forever in Heaven where he's not suffering. I pray for everyone who is grieving his loss. I feel selfish because I didn't know him personally, but I'm allowing myself to be sad knowing it will pass. I'll get better as time goes on. He will stay in my heart and live there with me wherever I go. RIP Moonbin 🙏💙 My Butterfly 🦋

My mom committed suicide in September, and now I avoid everything that I can having to do with self-harm (she didn't self-harm, I'm the one struggling with it), suicide, or anything that reminds me of her, including a certain song. Sometimes I think of her posting a status update on Facebook or calling one of my relatives and I kind of let myself forget that she's gone. I hate it.
I just want to let go of all this pain and hurt that I'm not letting myself feel, but I'm so scared to let myself feel all of my repressed emotions.

Sometimes we unintentionally protect ourselves by repressing our emotions. In due time you’ll be able to “deal” with it and allow those emotions to be there too.
You’ll learn how to give it a place within your new life. Which might not make it hurt any less but it will become easier to recover yourself whenever you feel lost.
I hope you’ll be able to recover. I wish you the best! Keep your memories alive and remember, there is always someone who loves you!

He is the closest brother to me, he is so kind, he's always so generous to us and my parents. he always buys me food even though I didn't tell him I was hungry. He got into an accident. Someone crashes from the back of his motorcycle. This is my first time I lost someone I dear the most especially when it comes to family members. Im 14. He is 22. Young I know. I really missed him even tho it has just been a few hours.

Only Jesus can bring true joy and happiness.

When I was 9 years old my mom passed away. Before that happened I loved to play the violin and I did really well in contests. My mom always played with me and taught me. Until on the day before Christmas my dad got a call. My mom had passed away from brain cancer. Ever since than I haven't been able to do a lot of things. When I play the violin I vomit, I can't cry anymore, and I'm alone. I still hope someone can save me one day. If you loose a family member like me than don't do things like how I did. Open up to people and tell them you hurt. Learn that you can't always be what they want you to be but that's the beauty of it. Love is an amazing thing that we cant live without. Open up to people before the pain really sinks in.

I’m struggling with the loss of Technoblade. It feels as bad as when I lost my cousin back in 2018. It feels weird feeling this way to someone I never met, and it hurts so much more when I have no one to talk to. I want to tell my mom about it but she doesn’t know techno and might not understand. I’ve never got over the death of my cousin so I probably won’t do it with Techno, though it’s worse when no one I know what I’m going through.
I had to delete TikTok and turn off notifs for twitter just so I wouldn’t accidentally stumble upon people saying their goodbyes. Feels so bad when my most comfort app is gone for now.

I’ve been just sleeping super deeply. Feels like he’s just going to come up to me any minute. Sometimes i’ve have arguments in my head going back and forth saying he’s here with me versus he’s not. I haven’t cried though, because I think I am numb. I also saw him pass away. Which was heartbreaking but it was quick. My mind has blocked out that memory from my brain so I can’t really remember even tho it was only a few days ago. Sometimes I feel like he was just a dream. When we arrived at my grandparents house after the news, i saw my grandma, crying hystericly while holding him. I had noticed that he had one last tear in his eye. After I said my final goodbyes, I cried in my moms arms the most I have ever cried. I have all of these mixed emotions in me right now including anger, depression, and some suicidal thoughts. I will try to overcome this though. As he is now in heaven with a new body taking care of my grandmas dog who passed away almost a year ago of desiese. I just dont know how I can overcome it. My grandfather just died yesterday and I dont have words that can explain how much I miss him. I can still hear his voice talking to me. And I feel so bad for my family. They are suffering and I cant stand watching them in this state. I hope that we will get through it.

I lost an internet friend, who i sadly never got to meet in real life. We were chatting in a discord group with other people for several months, everyday. For the past few months we almost didn't talk at all but he died in an accident five days ago. This is my first experience with death so it was fairly new to me. At first it was denial and shock, cried in the evening the past three days. Actually noted my feelings, drew a meaningful portrait of them, thought of them almost constantly. I went to church today and lit up a candle, thought of them once again. Still grieving, stomach issues, zero motivation and problems with sleeping. Hope it's gonna be over soon and that they're in a better place 💕

My beloved grandpa died 4 days ago. I feel shattered. He had chronic heart failure. His condition had been getting worse during the last 8 months and as a result he was constantly in and out of hospitals. I knew he hadn't much time left, but one thing I also learned for good is that no matter how aware you are of such situations, you are NEVER really prepared for them. My condolences to all of you who have lost your beloved ones and I pray that their souls rest in peace 💔🙏
