This is the problem with the two party system in general. You have echo chambers on both side telling the candidates what they want to hear and no one is speaking the truth, every one is lying. Until you have a display like last night where trying to defend Biden's performance shows your true character. Newsome for example has completely lost my support now as a Californian. I like his agenda, but defending Biden after that performance means I can't trust anything you say anymore. Thankfully, most of the media understands this, and is telling the truth today.
