    Joanne created Fifteen Spatulas to show people the cooking from scratch isn't as intimidating as they might think. On the blog you'll find recipes with step-by-step photos and explanations of the how's and why's of cooking (like why patting a steak dry before searing is so important, or how the hardness of your tap water can affect the strength of your bread dough). Happy cooking!

    You can also multiply the whole recipe by 10 and make a peanut butter cup for a really bad day

    The only problem with this prep is that when you bite into them the peanut butter mix will come squishing out. I would suggest that you paint the first bit of chocolate up the sides of the cupcake paper holder and then follow on from there as demonstrated in the video. You can always shave of the little extra bit of chocolate to smothen the edge. And then you have a fully enclosed home-made peanut butter cup :)

    Must make this when you have a bad day. So much banging. Hope the neighbours don't complain. Nice recipe.

    Hi Alexandra, I recommend freezing all layers before proceeding to the next, so it has a chance to set and lay flat before adding the next. So in other words, yes =) Enjoy the peanut butter cups!

    I accidently ate all the peanut butter cups my parents ordered now I won't have to explain to them that I ate the peanut butter cups all I have to do is maje them! C:

    The whisk probably won't be strong enough because the mixture is very thick, but you could use something like a wooden spoon, and just make sure everything is very well mixed.

    You toss it in the freezer after that layer briefly to set it, but it never really freezes, just chills.

  • @FifteenSpatulas
    @FifteenSpatulas  Před 11 lety +1

    If you use regular sugar it won't dissolve, and you'll have crunchy granules in the peanut butter.

    Peanut butter & chocolate, what's not to love? You make it look so easy to make your own peanut butter cups and I love the idea of using the cookie scoop. We have a Buckeye Brownie recipe that is a classic...main ingredients are (you guessed it!) peanut butter and chocolate!

    Hi Julia, you can definitely make adjustments as you see fit. The sugar and butter are there for sweetness and texture, but using regular peanut butter would be fine.

    It should work fine, it might have a thicker consistency and won't be sweet, but try and see if you like it, it might suit your tastes. And yes, I still suggest freezing each layer so they stay a bit separated.
