- We were stunned to see that a rubber band could so horribly injure this puppy's neck. The rubber band penetrated deep into the tissue and causing a wound so extensive that it is one of the worst we've seen in relation to her body size.
As soon as we had her on the treatment table of course we cut the rubber band off, and although the removal stung a bit, we suspect that relief was almost immediate. We now treated the wound like any other serious laceration, and supported her with antibiotics, a hydration drip, food and--yup, cuddles!
It took her a couple of weeks to no longer need the bandage, but we were astonished at how quickly her little body healed. Turned out, to no one's surprise, that she is a huge love bug, eager to forget her weeks of excruciating pain, ready to jump into a long happy life ahead.

These amazing people are faced with so many grotesque injuries, but they never even flinch. They just spring into action and do whatever it takes to help any animal in need. What an outstanding bunch of humans ❤

A rubber band? So tightly embedded! Poor dog. Another lucky dog found by the right people. I love the professional manner and process in which these dogs are treated, but especially love the tlc they get after and during the treatment.. from the gentle loving nurses. Im sure it speeds the recovery process. ♥️ . Thank you to all on the team of AAU.

When this dog was puppy someone might have tied rubber band as a good gesture but then left it ignored while it grew up. Its neck size increased and rubber was small so this happened !

I think either a child put the rubber band or an adult with a low iq who didn't think what could happen. Many people don't think at all about consequences in life.

Wow, I was shocked when I saw the rubber band after it was being removed from the dog. Don’t understand why some people can be so cruel to a harmless dog. The person who put the rubber band around the dog’s head should have try it on himself/herself, in order to feel the pain that the poor dog had to go through. Glad that the rescuers get the dog in time to be treated. The dog is playful after the incident. Hope that the dog will find a kind & loving family to love him forever. 🤬😤🤦🏼♀️😭😱☺️🥰
