The casual players weren't a concern when they hired people who don't like Halo to change Halo to something else.

Lot of similarities between them. They wanted to appeal to different crowds, & in doing so alienated much of the OG community.
Not to mention trying to micro- monetize Halo MCC, including mods some of us had been using for years from Nexus & similar. They only gave up when backlash hit them from every attempt, & even then it was because they wanted to charge for a majority of stuff we already had, with very little new stuff (same thing with Battlefront "remastered").
The whole competitive scene, back in the day, was just people jumping in & gaming.
These days it's your job, your life, your way of living.
Stats now matter more than ever. People aren't trying to win as a team because there's only glory in one person getting every kill.
What exactly is wrong with it? I don't get it. Multiplayer was never really my thing tbh, I like single player story driven games, and tbh infinite is my favorite in that regard. Obviously the first 3 are really good too and arguably have a better story but campaign gameplay wise I love infinite. The open world rpg style was awesome to me and I'm really happy they did that, but those are my favorite type of games.

@smileyr MW3 has content, it has gamemodes, it has regular updates. And the series has had decent games recently. Halo hasn't had any of those things in a long time. EA is terrible, but Microsoft has literally let their best game flounder and die.

It's crazy how Halo has one of the most passionate and dedicated communities that has stuck around even when the company making the game continuously spits in our faces over and over and over for 10+ years now and somehow microsoft doesn't give a shit to not be cheap on the franchise and put people in charge that ACTUALLY love Halo.
I go back every once in awhile and watch the old Halo 2/Halo 3/Halo Reach ViDocs from Bungie and they give me a sense of comfort remembering how beloved Halo was not just by the community, but by the developers. Bungie back then were so passionate, having LAN dev tests and just laughing their asses off shit taking during their matches. It was what Halo was all about. A fun somewhat competitive but mainly chill multiplayer FPS to hop on, play some slayer or some ranked, swap to a mess-around mode like grifball or zombies or action sack and just laugh at the wild shit that would happen.
I still want Halo to get back to that point but honestly I thought Halo infinite was our best shot and they blew it so horrendously bad. Maybe some day it will return to those great days of fun but I've gone from hopeful, to slightly optimistic, to indifference.

Now we all don’t trust their corporation (if we all ever did since 2010) and now 343 have no where to go and it just seems to be getting worse. I went thrifting the other day and found a perfect condition disc of halo 2 bought it and found an old Xbox tshirt at goodwill… it was like I was 10 all over again… and halo 3 had just come out with all my elementary friends and my dad and uncles all on to play through Xbox chat. Memories o memories.

See the things is, people always say “let’s hope 343 learned their lesson with this game. And they’ve said that for all 343 games. They will not learn. They want their own story. They want their own universe. They don’t wanna give fans what they want. I will say infinite is the best out of the 3 but they used it to try getting more of our money while also giving us less than we deserve. Why would they spend the time and money giving us campaign dlc that only a handful of the player base will buy (because most infinite players didn’t even bother buying campaign) when they can just get free maps made by forgers, put together some cool armor sets that you have to buy, shove in a limited time game mode, and call it a content update. The armor that you see in the shop, like what was said in this video is likely armor that was planned for a season pass but now one set costs as much as 1/2 or 2 passes combined. So they’re literally doing the BARE minimum and making far more money than if we got what we wanted because they don’t have to use resources to get us this content.
Yeah I’d buy more if I got what I wanted but then that would require them to actually do something.

Modders have brought the halo 1 magnum, smg, battle rifle into halo reach, all with custom audio and pickup icons, and basically developer grade quality, modders have been adding new weapons and vehicles for years and years now in halo 3 and reach, why cant actual developers do it?

I hoped for large sized halo games to come out, I feel like the large ships and large scale battles that should go on between them and the lore behind the ships don't ever get enough credit so after Reach I hoped...but I have yet to see any progress
Yeah, in the open beta on "Highpower" I saw the Panama, the frigate in the sky, and I assumed it was a ship that would help in the campaign when it released, like the frigate Savannah in halo reach, but nope, we don't even get to see how the frigate Mortal Reverie was downed, or the supercarrier Infinity either, it was all skipped, plus where are the other navy ships such as the Halcyon class or Marathon class cruisers? Where is the support ship Spirit of Fire?

I love Baldur's Gate 3, but this would only work if Larian Studios made an FPS Halo game. They are more than up to the task, given how near immaculate Baldur's Gate 3 is.
It would be cool if halo 7 is a reboot of the series and actually pick up where the halo 3 left off. 343 halo series never existed.

We questioned our trust with 343 in 2012, we lost it in 2015.
When a studio takes over a game franchise with preestablish story and fan communities. The new studio must follow a handful of rules. 343 refused to follow the simple rules. If they had followed the rules, things would be completely different today. The rules are as below.
- Stay true to the pre-established lore. Do not alter or change the current known storyline or rapidly change the story between the new games. It causes confusion for fans.
- Keep the current art, graphics and design style (you can add new ideas, but don’t change the existing style)
- keep the game mechanics and play style the same. If you have to alter the mechanics and play style. Do it in a way that feels natural for the player and not something completely new. Fans played the game for a reason, so don’t upset current fans by changing what they like.
- if you you was to be experimental with the art, design, mechanics or gameplay style. Create a side-game based off a current lore story or create a new side story that you can play with. (fans are less likely to get upset with a completely different style of game if it is a side game and not the main line game)
- listen to the community. If you had changed something, or introduced something that upsets the community. Don’t just go in there and alternate it thinking you’re going to fix it. Talk to major influencers or representatives within the community to figure out exactly what people dislike about it. Because it could be something so small, but has a major influence. (Halo 4 plasma pistol power consumption. Something small and easily fixable, but had a major impact on the community. Making a old reliable weapon, almost useless at times because the power drained so fast)
The only real complaints I have with 343 industries with Halo Infinite's multiplayer is that there's no playable Brutes or Elites, or other Covenant species, now the Covenant and Flood palettes for Forge have been released. I'd like to test out armour skins in Forge, but I can't really complain about the store because the multiplayer is supported by the people who can't resist buying pretty dresses for their Spartan.

as someone who WAS a halo fan back on the 360 I remember being disappointed in halo 4, then halo 5 was when 343 burned that bridge. I remember some one asked me if I would play the next halo in the middle of 5 life cycle. at this point I had already left. and I said "if I even get a hint that halo six wasn't good I'm not spending a dime on any halo game as long as I live" I can thankfully say to this day I have kept that promise. I have let go and if you ever want things to change you should let halo die, ps go play helldivers 2

Im honestly just kinda sad. Halo has been such an integral part of my life and such a source of inspiration for me. It is a big reason why I became a writer. I really just feel cheated. (Whether that is justified or not) That i have essentially been waiting for halo to go back to what it was for over a decade. Thats over a decades worth of spent excitement and utter disappointment after disappointment. I dont like when people say "Halo just needs to die" as if its new reputation ruins the old games. I just wish it would stop being abused. Halo is not something i want to walk away from but it almost feels like im being forced to.

Id spend too much time on the beach dying, fighting, respawning, dying more, getting further, dying, and driving around

Hey guys, some of you aren't aware but the funeral for Halo was held back in 2012. Those of us who attended no longer grieve, though we laugh at everyone still in denial.
If they started working on Halo 7 in the time frame that infinite has been out, I'm afraid the mindset for halo 7 will not differ too much in the slightest even with all the changes from withing the company. Halo may just overall be doomed to plumet until Microsoft no longer wants to fund it.

Adding plants will not save the game, adding more functionality like more sandbox items and more forge scripting like the ability to animate large objects.

It's honestly quite astonishing to see just how far 343i will go to screw over the remaining playerbase. In all honesty while the operation event pass now has more agency because of the addition of SP it seems to me that they keep coming up with new ways to devalue the pass while making it more unaccessible to complete in a timely matter so as to push players to spend real money on credits to either make it permanent or autocomplete. We used to get credits, xp boosts, challenge swaps, and xp grants with each iteration of the Battlepass, and they keep slowly chipping away at it so we don't feel it as much when you get barely anything in return.
I wish halo 7 will continue halo infinite's campaign DLC story
After the lessons learned with ODST, and Spartan Ops, they were never going to release a campaign DLC in the first place. They thought they could get away with releasing cutscenes only, but the Banished AI storyline was crap.
343 are now being led by a much more competent management team. They ARE milking out what they can from Infinite. But with all the fixes they've made to infinite - I'd rather the next game took all of the positives with it...
The maps our forgers have created over the past year are bloody phenomenal. I only hope they can make the same level of quality in the next one.

Halo Infinite was the first Halo game that made me go back to playing the previous title. I enjoyed it's campaign, but it's multiplayer was just disappointing. I think the only way to save this franchise now is to simply take it out of the hands of 343 and just let the fans have at it.
This reminds me of WB saying they were just gonna refresh the DC universe so anything that happened in Aquaman and blue beetle didnt matter. So no one went . sales were low. No one is gonna keep spending money in this game that will just be abandoned eventually because 343 will just stop supporting it to push Halo 7.

What sucks is that I try to stay positive, because what I believe and learned is that always having a negative mindset you always miss the best parts. However I always had this feeling that Halo was sort of destined to be like this. Microsoft to this day doesn’t care about the title that made Xbox well… *Xbox* and 343 keep fumbling, they have good ideas but they change, remove, or add stuff that isn’t needed as well as necessary. Even if Bungie stayed comparing to who they are now, Halo probably wouldn’t be in a better position. Like even if a new developer is tasked with making a Halo title that’s such a big risk and not as simple as people think. People want Certain Affinity to make a Halo title but they forget they made Halo 4’s multiplayer (although they made H2A’s multiplayer which I didn’t think it was bad).
Being a Halo fan sucks right now, plain as day. We had a game that had so much potential and amazing ideas but fumbled so hard because of greed as well as terrible management, and a TV show that has so many lows man. I want Halo to succeed, so many things need to be changed with Microsoft and 343, no matter how big our voices are heard they aren’t listening. I hope for a better future but only time will tell.

I’ve been in the Halo fan base since 2004. I’m a colossal nerd for the lore and everything. But with how much 343 has disappointed me starting from 5 mainly, my interest for future Halo content is out the window. I don’t even know where we are in the lore anymore. Too many questions and not enough answers
Personally I feel ignored. I’ve always played as an elite. Makes me feel like a alien assassin type deal. I feel like we are long over due for a third playable species. We’ve went backwards and it sucks.

Thankyou Halo Follower, you do good things for this community. I was excited when Pierre took over on Infinite, but was shattered when they pulled support and stopped seasons, especially after the game finally had some consistency and stability. Since then, decisions on the useless operations, ridiculous cosmetic pricing, and implementing Ezy Anti Cheat that clearly sucks, has led me finally uninstall the game. The comparison to an abusive ex is so accurate, they aren't allowing fans of halo to have any hope, as the decisions they are making now is leaving lots to be desired. It's like 343 was formed to secretly destroy halo, the tv show should have inspired more players, I mean just look at Fallout, instead we got a pile of trash. halo 4 I liked a lot, enjoy everything about it. Halo 5 Had a good story, I didn't really play multiplayer that much on 5. Halo infinite I played 1 time a year to check back in but nothing got better. So I would really like to see a different studio do Halo. Honestly any of the famous story dev studios would be fine with me. Hell I wanna see what a Fromsoft interp of Halo would look like lol.

The problem of getting some assurance is every single time 343 have promised we will get these little things fans have wanted for years, they either never give us anything with the excuse "we just can't" or under-deliver.
I got so mad with 343 written halo i said fuck it, now im writing my own halo story that respects the universe while expanding onto it in ways we should have gotten. A story that i plan to have it turned into an animated show of my own. Screw 343 and most importantly screw microsoft, ill do it myself.

What’s wild to me is RIGHT when things got on track the foot was taken off the gas pedal. The last actual season was a huge success and got the game where people wanted it to be for the past few years.
On one hand I get that they want to move resources to the next game to make it what they wanted infinite to be while starting with a better foundation, but it’s so frustrating to see how close infinite got. We tasted it, they showed it was possible.
Infinite can be successful with sandbox updates alone from here on out. Just bring back old weapons every couple months until the games done. Such a simple concept.. no need to redesign functionality, balance is basically baked into their designs..
Instead of making Spartans so plentiful and have 343's vision of humanity that of being stronger, I personally would've liked it if humanity were beginning to pick up the pieces of themselves after the Covenant-human conflict. Then the prometheans rising could've meant that humanity also has to get what's left of them just as the prometheans were picking themselves up. The promethean designs where they are in shards (the floaty parts of the guardians for example) could mean that the prometheans are in pieces and the composer or whatever could bring back an AI that makes the prometheans whole (in some way beyond the physical). This promethean AI could be like a cousin (or something) of the Halo ring technology and John has to stop the Didact from resurrecting the AI and this also could allude to cortana's digital death and John has to fight enemies like the covenant in a final mission of 4, 5 or whatever without Cortana. The Covenant reveres/ allies themselves with the Prometheans but really they want the Promethean composer tech as they believe that tech is more powerful than the Halo rings and ultimately want to keep that power for themselves. The flood are still part of the story somehow etc. Idk this is just fan fiction
Halo 7 needs to be made by two companies, 343 or maybe certain affinity
If they give us 3 new guns and 2 new vehicles then I'm happy. I genuinely miss halo 5 compared to infinite updates.

At the very least, they need to change 343’s studio name if they have all new people working there. In reality though we need a different studio working on this game
I love halo give me more campaign I really wish they would focus on the story and keep infinites multi-player how it is and build on it
I have hope for the next one because it’s UE5. Means contractors actually know the engine

I’ve considered making my life dedicated to fixing halo, I have so many amazing ideas that seemingly come so easy to me. How we got to the state it’s in now is baffling. They desecrated halo with their filthy footsteps. Also I like how they just straight up ignore halo wars, halo wars 1 & 2 is better than the games 343 made.
I wont lie the only company under Microsoft i could ever see making a good halo is ID under bethesda, both dooms were such a return to form for that series

I just want a complete game man... a polished, finished game with a good-great campaign, a progression system with reach-like armor customization/unlocks, forge, and plenty of gamemodes at launch. We were able to do this stuff in the mid 2000's-early 2010's, it astounds me that as technology has improved and profits have been record breaking development has regressed more and more
