  • I build a DIY graphics card cooler designed with off the shelf 120mm fans, but is it any good?

Thank you, this is exactly what Ive searched for. I have a 4070ti OEM from HP and it hits under load around 75 degrees celsius to 70 degrees and I wanna customize it because of that, do you think the heatsink is universal for the 4070ti so I can exchange it to a bigger one too ?

Try to undervolting, use MSI afterburner, heaven benchmark (cause it will crash immediately if the UV or OC it's not stable without harm ur PC) and HWinfo for record the data and compare.
1st: open afterburner, heaven and WHinfo, set in afterburner ur GPU fans to 80% and try to get the coldest temp, usually 30~40, when u get there reset in WHinfo the data metrics
2nd: run a heaven benchmark everything high or Xtreme at the resolution u use mainly in borderless window
3rd: when the benchmark finish check in WHinfo the highest GPU clock speed, temp and voltage, remember it
4th: now open afterburner again and press "control + F" or a button called "Curve", then still in afterburner take the clock speed slider all the way down and u can see in the open windows how the curve get down too, now in the curve window u need to take a dot at for example 900mv (down side) and rise to 1900mhz (left side)
5th: run a heaven benchmark again and see what happens if crashes reset to default in Afterburner and try now 925mv and 1900mhz for example an run heaven again, if it works and the benchmark reach the window results then u have room for try now a rise in Mhz and so on but try to not surpass ur original Voltage
6th and final: try to reach the same speed as ur original GPU clocks and when u get it set ur fans to wherever speed u usually use and save it, the next time u game u will see a difference in temps and voltage (watt consumption), u will get a stable and more cool machine whit this trick, btw some games are sensible to UV/OC so if u get a crash in some there u need to reset ur GPU to original state, nothing u can do, sorry.
      Hope this might help u!

You think this would help an RX590 (yeah im old and poor) that usually hits 85 and throttles?
I dont have a 3d printer but i have seen other people use plastic zip cables.

i mean , i have a rx580 which use to touch 81-82c in these summers days , so what i did is first i done some undervolting , then repasting new thermal paste , and i had one fan which was size of an PSU fan of typical 500watt , i just replace it wires with sum USB cable and power it through my pc and place it vertically under my gpu and holy shit my gpu temp reduce by 4 to 5c , before it use to touch 77-76c but with this it touches 71-73c just by one single fan , and that fan is an 12v dc fan usually come pre install with some old pc as a outlet fan.
Since gpu take air inside so i make sure to place fan little bit closer to my gpu fan and it working rlly good. i wasn't expecting an big difference but infact it is , now im planning to get another same size fan and place it under my gpu lol.

@@BeastAsNoob for whatever reason i cant undervolt or underclock, it crashes.
Im planning on deshrouding the gpu and using two artic p12 fans connected to the motherboard instead of the gpu fans.

@@WhiteZelda i had similar issue whenever i undervolt , my pc crashes within 4sec , but later in some reddit post i found an proper undervolt setting of my exact gpu model and this time it didn't crash.

@@BeastAsNoob mine doesnt crash right away, only if i start gaming, probably bad gpu or something.
Also, temperatures do not go down when i undervolt/clock, not sure why

@@WhiteZelda in my case when i do wrong undervolt like starting from 1000mv , and after refreshing window sometimes it crash in few seconds or sometimes when i open an game it just crashes, currently im using stage 7 "1070mv" , stage 6 "1040mv , stage 5 "1000mv" and this actually help to reduce temp without this my gpu goes 83c
