The US issue the travel advisory right after the Bob Marley movie was release. The Bob Marley movie is going to drive millions of Americans to visit Jamaica and that’s a problem for some in the US. The US states like Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico are losing tourists to islands like Jamaica and Bahamas. Americans and especially Black Americans are choosing to go to Jamaica instead of Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and that’s a problem for the US. The US wants most of its citizens to vacation in the US to keep the money in the US. Jamaica, Bahamas and the Caribbean is getting a lot of that US dollar and that’s a problem for them.

I guess it's payback for Jamaica because they rejected and American ambassador who was married to another man and Jamaica is not about that.
Jamaica also protested against the killing of the Palestinian people, so those decision makers figured it's time for them to pay.
They will never stop people from traveling to Jamaica, because the violence they're referring to mostly occurs in poor areas, like it does in every developed and underdeveloped country.
America needs to put out a more serious advisory for itself, with over 630 Mass Shootings, over 13,000 hate crimes, and over 48,000 gun related death in 2023 alone... Just saying...

It's very funny that America of all places warns travelers about safety, when in America one can easily lose their life by going to school or shopping in the stores. However, it's their right to inform their citizens of any danger when travelling to another country. They are doing so to protect themself from being sued if anything should happen to their citizens. They gave no names about the resorts they are talking about. And the areas they talked about tourists don't visit those areas. So, shame on America trying to scare people.

In the four years I resided there, I have seen more violence than all my years in Jamaica since the day I was born. I have never been in a community as peaceful as my own...and I have lived in both 'the hood' and in middle income areas. My community is middle income, but it's not even an elite community. AMERICA IS AS VIOLENT AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE.

There's hardly any random crimes in Jamaica, the people who are at war must time is personal stuff, gang against gang and domestic violence There's hardly any case where someone will just see you on the street and attack you.
