The best thing of Leela was that she may have been ignorant of many things, but she was not stupid nor foolhardy, and when push comes to shove she could hold her own in scrapes. Certainly different from past female companions up to that point.

@@SciFiBrony - Jamie was a great companion. Not stupid at all, just a man out of time. I always liked his response, when told something that went way over his head, or that he didn't fully believe - it was:

Lead her people through a new, difficult era of freedom and self-determination...or flee across the universe in a magical, if not very dependable old blue box beside a barely stable old man.
    Sounds familiar.

That would require a chronological knowledge of even the episodes that no longer exist to be able to rank them, and as I started somewhere around Season 3, since there's no longer any record of the original first two seasons; I have no way to know that, especially when I have not heard any Radio Episodes, or played any of the Games.

Even though Leela is dressed like a cavewoman, she is beautiful. She showed courage to barge into the TARDIS to join the Doctor in his journey across the Universe and find the right lever in 1 of the control rooms just before the Doctor could stop her from touching it and get ting the ship moving.

I always preferred Leela, I found Sarah Jane Smith far too needy and whiny, Leela didn’t hesitate to put Four in his place when she needed to
She’s the NuWho equivalent of Martha Jones, probably why Martha was my favorite NuWho companion
Rose; too whiny and needy, like SJS
Martha; smart, independent, and not afraid to put the Doctor in his place, she’s also quite easy on the eyes
Donna; too shouty and abrasive at first, but matured nicely
Amy; never truly resonated with me, she tried to be a mix of all three previous companions...

I love the way she forced her way onto the Tardis! I would really love to see more of the older episodes. I stopped watching Doctor Who for a while, not because the doctor was a woman, heck I'm a woman, but the episodes got really tedious the first year of her reign. It does sound like things are going to become more interesting though.

A surprise that Tomas & Caleb didn't decide to follow Leela as she was running to see where the Doctor was heading for after he made Leela's tribe & the Tesh make peace with each other. Would Leela hate the Doctor if he did get into his TARDIS and got away before Leela found him and decided to go with him in his ship? Leela did show a nice smile before she asked the Doctor to take her with him.

Leela probably would have been protective of Sarah against villains and hostile aliens ect and Sarah would’ve been protective of Leela against the Doctor’s grouches. There’d have likely been a lot of comical double teaming of teasing the Doctor. Also I imagine Sarah would have (albeit partly) conquered her (Leela) where the Doctor failed to by managing to culture her, Leela in turn would have taught Sarah some arse kicking.

  • @azurerainbow4637

Leela had a lot of nerve to admit that she's a mindless savage before she had seen the Doctor had decided to leave and then she decided to go with him, though he didn't want to but gave in after she got into the TARDIS and managed to get the TARDIS moving and he couldn't send her back.

  • @azurerainbow4637
