Well, nothing like taxiing all the way to Germany before departing Amsterdam 😂. The taxi out to Amsterdam's polderbaan runway takes as long as some flights 😂. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed filming this flight. Flying on British Airways' ERJ-190SR's and seeing their special performance first hand was awesome. I don't think I've ever had a steeper departure or approach. You can even hear the main gear tires screeching in pain when we touch down! What a cool flight, I hope you all enjoy this one!
Well, that runway is out in the countryside it's like taxing out to the Reef runway at HNL or one of the runways at IAH or HND.
My favorite airport for variety of action to one I’ve never seen before. Awesome!!!
One time I was taxiing out of dfw and the line to get to the runway took deacades
@@bforkner01 - Yeah, Denver can be a bit like that. 30 minutes taxiing to some of the far reaching runways. If you fall asleep at the start and wake up before take-off you may think that you've already arrived at your destination! 😄
Damn steep climb
I'm telling you what... These ERJ-190SR's are no joke haha. Probably the steepest initial climb I've ever had. Thanks for watching my friend!
Embraer jets - as always, the best engine roar. Thanks for posting
Glad you enjoyed it!
CF34 🥰
You know you've been listening closely to the idle sound of the CF34-8 when you notice that the CF34-10 idle sound is slightly different 😅 love the CF34 🥰
Amsterdam to London nice flight trip report. Very nice airplane Embraer 190 SR. ❤😊🛫🛬✈️✈️🧳💺🗺️🌍🌎🌏🌐🇬🇧🇬🇧
That climb thooo!!!😍😍
Crazy steep. This is probably the steepest climb I'ver ever been on. Well at least until I departed LCY later that day and had it again haha. These ERJ-190SR's are beasts!
at least you´ve seen the whole Netherlands on the way to Polderbaan. Thanks for this fantastic video!
Glad you liked it!
Nice video brother 🤓☝️
Welcome back my friend, and as always beautiful sharing adventure documentary travel trip reports and the filming footage compilation looks spectacularly gorgeous, thanks again and best regards from Montreal QC Canada
Glad you enjoyed it!
I can’t get over the fact how this pilot didn’t even need to use the full runway on landing unlike the pilots landing at Maui, who runway is around 2,000 feet longer.
Great video thanks. Close to home so I can relate. I'm now going to repeat this flight on my sim and compare notes! 😊
Schiphol airport almost made me miss my flight back to ATL on my taxi after landing from ATH. Flight home sucked on KLM 777-300er! The seats were bricks in economy!
Yeah, I can definitely understand that after this trip haha.
49:45 - First views of Essex.
52:15 - Shoeburyness
52:41 - Southend-on-Sea
53:43 - Canvey Island
55:01 - Corringham and Stanford-le-Hope
56:55 - Crossing the M25
58:41 - Dagenham
59:46 - Barking Creekmouth
1:00:09 - Entering London Docklands, landing seconds later.
Great info for everyone! Thanks!
Gotta love that LCY arrival!
Absolutely spectacular. Thanks for the video! This is one of the amazing airports (and cities for that matter) I have yet to visit. Textbook approach and landing by the pilot on this short runway!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!
Fantastic vid!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend!
Have to admit, I saw LCY and it changed my attitude. Coolest approach. I love the idea of literally landing right in the "thicke" of it.
And it certainly is a thrill flying in there. I've never been on an approach that steep, where the speed brakes were deployed all the way down and you literally felt like you were stalling. So fun! I'd love to fly in there again on another trip in the future. Luxair operates Q400's in there. That'd be cool! Thanks for watching!
13:08 jetBlue!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE AIRLINE!!!!!!! I fly them domestically though.
Speedbird best. I ❤ BA
Love it!!
Wow! Thank you.
Thanks for watching my friend!
On touchdown those poor wheels sounded like a flight simulator landing lol
Thank you Bryce once again for uploading the video 😊😅😅😂😂❤❤🎉🎉and what is your next flight video?
On Wednesday it's a short hop from Tulsa to Houston onboard Southwest's retro 737-8 Max in their old Canyon Blue livery.
That was a very hard landing! I’m surprised the landing gear hasn’t broken.
It was indeed. And I don't know if these 190's have had special modifications to their landing gear or not, but the ERJ-190SR you see here has been specifically designed to tackle airports like LCY that have short runways and very steep approaches. So, it's possible the gear have been strengthened as part of the SR modifications. Again, I don't have an actual list of what makes the SR variant different from the regular or LR 190, but they were specifically designed to operate out of LCY, so it's possible. Thanks for watching my friend!
I notice that they really pack the aircraft in tight on the apron at London City. Wingtips can't be that far apart so extra care will probably need to be taken when moving aircraft.
Reminds me a lot of Burbank here in the states.
Wah 👍
Nice combination of chips and juice
Quite some steep departure and really fast taxi.
Those ERJ-190SR's aren't joking around haha. Thanks for watching!
@@sla31you welcome
Oof! Hard landing, out of curiosity what has been your hardest landing that you have filmed and is on the channel?
Oh man... I've had some hard ones. This one is up there. You know when my camera moves that much and there's that much distortion of the lens, it was rough haha. But that's really out of necessity here and these 190's are specifically outfitted to operate out of LCY. Other than this one. Off the top of my head... I had a pretty hard landing in Burbank on Avelo. Caused my camera to not only jolt like it did here, but it also caused it to manually de-focus. I can also remember a pretty hard one on Southwest in Dallas once. I don't even remember what flight it was for sure now it was so long ago, but I think that one was probably the only true, textbook definition, "hard" landing I've ever been in. The plane had to be inspected by mechanics before it could operate its next flight. For wide bodies, I think the hardest I've ever had was my first flight on ANA's A380 from HNL-HNL. It rattled your teeth haha.
What a surprise to see that JetBlue at the gate! No doubt he's going to JFK later in the day--perhaps you should sample Mint Class on a transatlantic flight! You definitely got the Grand Tour of AMS! Interesting how much farmland borders the airport, no apparent fear of upsetting the residents below--as you made that left turn, fascinating to see the contrails of other flights zipping by! Clearly, just before touchdown, the River Thames was at low tide, seeing the mud. Would think landing at LCY would be similar to landing on an aircraft carrier but surprisingly no loud reverse thrust and certainly can't complain about gate position--really neat to see the parking procedure, something unknown here in the US. Where did you connect to? On my bucket list to fly BA's A319 all business flight to JFK via Shannon--an future trip for you?
Yeah, flying into LCY was definitely fun. Reminded me a lot of Burbank here in the US. Only LCY's terminal is certainly nicer haha. On this trip I was using AMS as my "base of operations," so I had a couple hour layover at LCY to explore and then it was back to AMS on other BA E190. I wish I could've done their all business A318 before they were retired. I guess the A319 will have to do haha. I'd certainly enjoy doing that. We'll see if I ever find a ticket cheap enough to do it haha.
Great fly! Have you heard FAA is making increase time off for air traffic controllers amid close calls due to shortage and burnouts? What do you think?
Long overdue. But, I believe they're still having an air traffic controller shortage, so this will ultimately likely lead to ATC delays throughout the country.
A Lufthansa flight that left the terminal in Frankfurt at the same time would have arrived in London already, while you're still taxing!
Yeah, leave it to me to plan a trip where I based in Amsterdam right when they had one of their main runways closed for repairs haha. Hence the many taxis I had to this runway in a different country 😂
Hi
Hi
I am in london right now
Hope you're having a great time!
You are flying for the first time in lcy
Yup, this was my first time ever flying into LCY.
Fantastic Shots! Im gonna use this video to sleep peacefully. Is that ok with you?
You're more than welcome to my friend.
blimey, where was the runway, Belgium?
Close. Germany actually 😂.
Waw
I didn`t know until now that international passenger jets are still allowed to land at London City these days.....
I even saw a Luxair Q400 there that day.
