Knife Crime: Live-saving Bleed Kits To Save Lives | Good Morning Britain

- The number of fatal stabbings in England and Wales is at its highest level since records began more than 76 years ago, and compared to last year they've increased by nearly 20 percent. Campaigners say one of the only ways to reverse this worrying trend is by having bleed control kits as accessible as defibrillators on Britain's high streets. Former gang member Carl Scott says knife crime is a particular problem in Britain's gang culture. When he was in a gang he was stabbed and had his best friend die in his arms from a knife attack. Carl is now training people in the South East on how to use Bleed Control kits and is campaigning to install more of them in the South East where he is based.

That's OK. This is why charity funding is important, it makes philanthropists feel good about themselves, corporate and private donors receive tax write offs and in turn those in need get what they deserve. With something like this in particular, it will save lives during the NHS and ambulance strikes and upheavals.

I've got a bleed control kit in my car with my first aid stuff hopefully I never have to use it but I have it, I think it contains a clotting agent on a dressing of some sort and a tourniquet
That's the thing I'm 1st aid and defibrillator trained. We was never told the procedure for the kits in public. So in an emergency by time you get to the kit. Some stab wounds they be dead.
This is why I project youth are putting on training for the community

This is a really good idea. It's just a shame that this country has got to the state where we need them. Wish men could settle arguments with their fists like they used to. It's not ideal but realistically humans are animals and will fight sometimes but a fistfight is rarely lethal. I can sympathise with why someone would punch someone, I can't fathom why you would ever want to murder someone over an argument.
totally disagree - bleed kits don't address the problem - they address the effects of the problem - thats like saying - to combat car crash victim deaths or severe injuries - we don't enforce or attempt to stop people driving at excessive speeds with combinations of speed cameras, pulling drivers over for speeding - and imposing severe penalties for breaches of the law - but just putting crutches or wheelchairs or bleed kits on every corner to help people who are victims of being hit by cars or being in car crash incidents... it is normalizing the issue - not attempting to reduce or tackle the reason for why its happening and limiting its occurrence...
Using fists frequently kills also.

First of all, bleed kits aren't meant to address the problem, they are meant to address the AFTER EFFECTS of the problem, that's the point of them. And since when does having bleed kits STOP the police enforcing the law of knife crime? It doesn't. You may not realise, but it is 100% possible to punish the use of knives AND have bleed kits around just in case the worst does happen. Jesus
@@KanyeBreast4 This whole Knife crime epidemic accelerated upon Police no longer conducting stop and search on Londons streets due to perceived racist targeting of certain ethnic groups... so No... Police are not actively removing knives from the streets as they once were... proves my point pal... if they did so - that would be a measured response to reduce the amount of people getting stabbed - which in turn would reduce the need for bleed kits... do you understand the concept of causality?
@@antonalbo No it doesn't prove your point, because even when stop and search was in effect, it went nowhere near to solving the problem. Nowhere near. And just because police aren't doing stop and search, doesn't mean they aren't doing a multitude of other things to keep knife crime at bay. Do you understand the concept of logic and common sense? Thinking that bleed kits don't address the problem (which they aren't meant to, they are meant to deal with its after effects) and thinking bleed kits are comparable to having wheelchairs for car accidents means stopping all law enforcement on speeding. Why can't we do both?? Why can't we enforce the law on knives AND have bleed kits in case the worst happens?? Basic logic really

How can you educate the "people " carrying knives to NOT carry them . They live in a different world to law abiding people .

We need them on every block in every democrat controlled city. The only people who benefited from compassionate treatment of criminals is criminals. The murder rate in America is worse than any time in history. No bail laws have enboldened criminals while the average law abiding citizen suffers
