      Always go bigger than you think as you will use the space, we went bigger as we tow this behind our cabin cruiser and going smaller would not make a big difference and we are sure glad we have bigger when we head out in it for fun!!

    Why does the Mercury 20 hp look like a 9.9 did you bore it out and put a turbo on it.

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Před 9 měsíci +1

      The 20 HP is the exact same as my 9.9, but that is just a 9.9 sticker on the 20 HP for certain reason, ha ha!

    I have a 2023 Stryker Pro 420 with a 30hp Mercury.
    How does the 20hp mercury do with lots of people and gear?
    The 30hp is almost too fast if it’s just me or even two people lol.
    I can go 35km/h with 4 adults and two little kids with some gear in the boat.

      We have my wife and I and our daughter and a dog, 2 prawn traps and line, a foil board and it gets up and goes not problem , have had three buddies as well foil towing and no problems! The 30 must rip though!

    You think an older 15 hp 2-stroke could handle that size boat for 2 adults 2 children? Or probably not enough huh?

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes we had 3 adults and 4 kids no problem with the 20 so 1 less adult and 2 less kids for sure, it wont set any speed records though

      Thx for the response man! I had reached out to Stryker and they said not to go over a 360 size with a 15hp motor. Looked at the 380 versions and 360 but just think that will be too small. Think I’ll just do the 420 and see hot the motor does. If I need a bigger one, I’ll save up and buy and new motor. Will probably just go 30hp at that point lol.

    The boat it’s made in China not Canada.

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Před 10 měsíci +3

      Yes canadian company and product is made in china, they make amazing products a lot less money so you get more value for your buck, china is a leading nation with carbon fibre as my buddy has all his surf skis made there, I never stated the stryker boat is made in canada, thanks

    Inflatable boats without hard bottom are not very stable in water and turning is reduced on inflatable as compared to hard bottoms

    • @DaveNorona
      @DaveNorona  Před 3 měsíci

      You might have to try one of these as we have been using it off our cabin cruiser and all the time in squamish for adventures and crab and prawning, boat gets on step quick, easy to steer, easy to turn on a dime and super fun and light, I am sure a hard bottom is awesome but these are super light and way less money. Happy Boating

      @@DaveNorona Sorry there Homeboy but they sell inflatables with ridgid hulls and I've seen enough videos and read articles that tell me as compared to ridgid hulls inflatable hulls are not as sturdy and have puncture issues. Enjoy your raft!!

      RIBs are better than SIBs for sure but SIBs are like a few thousand dollars compared to a RIB that will cost at least $50k unless used (which is a whole nother thing cause you likely will need to retube it at some point). Either way, SIBs and RIBs serve different purposes. For what it is, Stryker SIBs are some of the best out there and most legitimate SIBs are very much ocean worthy vessels compared to lake rafts from intex and the like.
