  • In this video I discuss and review a little gem of a bottle I discovered when I was tired of drinking lukewarm water on long training rides in the summer.

    I live in Florida as well and i agree the plastic ones dont fo that well with keeping your liquids cold in our summers here. I just the travel kuppes over the weekend and gave them a test ride. Only downside i had was the rattling.

    I got the Travel Kuppe bottle for Christmas and I love it. First time I used it though I learned something. I mixed my fluid in it the night before I was going for my ride and I used room temperature water and placed it in my fridge overnight. When I took my first sip out of it the next day on my ride the fluid was only slightly cooler than room temperature. No big deal considering that it was in the mid 30’s, but I’m now starting out with chilled water which worked out just fine.

      So glad that you are enjoying it! Yeah it is so good that it will keep your liquid near the same temps if you put it in the fridge. I have actually put ice in it the night before, left it out on the counter and it still had ice in the AM when I got up to ride.

    I’ve had the TK for a couple of years. It’s fantastic.

      Great to hear from a long term user! I will be ordering another soon, especially for the winter. Have you tried yours with hot liquids yet?

    What cages are those?

    I've been debating whether or not to get a water bottle with bottle cage for my bike. Usually, I ride with my camel back, which has the added benefit of having storage to put tools, bike repair items, etc.... Also, I can drink on the go without stopping. However, it does add weight.

      I used to use a camelbak when I first started but I did not enjoy the extra heat that I created with the back back on. It never caused any issues with me for my back or anything like that. If I do a long mtb race, I will probably use a camelbak with bottles as well.

    I have found that wiping it down with armour-all helps it slide in and out of the cages better

    I will check around and come back for it if it's really the best. I don't drink water but I drink juice. Fresh juice is better than warm or hot !!

      As long as it's not acidic orange juice you should be good. Couldn't imagine the metallic taste you would deal with drinking OJ out of the bottle.

      @@BlackWaterCyclist I'm an apple juice drinker and when traveling, coconut water or sugar cane juice. Anyway I bought the bottle. The one I found to be the most suitable on Amazon for me and indeed, it makes a big difference. I like it. I should have gotten this years ago. I've been without drinking pure water for years. I hate the taste of it and I don't trust it. And so far, I'm good. Not dead yet ! Thanks for the idea of a stainless bottle.

    Do you obey traffic laws? Most cyclists have zero ethics. Do you have time to chat, please?

    • @BlackWaterCyclist
      @BlackWaterCyclist  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes I do. I was hit by a car so I take traffic laws very seriously, even in busy congested areas when it is tempting to disobey traffic laws.

      @@BlackWaterCyclist Say how is your visibility? Those highly visible lime green jackets - are great, but pricey. I was doored, after replacing my white jacket with a black one. Wearing dark green when riding through forests, yields close calls. Because many drivers wear sunglasses on cloudy days, cyclists wearing dark clothes are road food, Dude. Also, are you aware that drivers that have come off the highway into town, experience a slow motion hallucination? This is called Velocitization and makes them cut off cyclists. The "deceleration" causes the inner ear to malfunction. The mass disobedience at stop signs can be solved by using Autonomous Traffic Signs at schools. Posting the stop sign compliance rates, is super hard to ignore. Once the public is aware of zero traffic compliance rates at schools, the stakeholders always instantly change their disgusting habits. Human beings are largely weasels in this modern world, so in my municipality of 1 million, almost no one obeys traffic laws. The Premiers, Mayors, Ministers of Transportation, etc. One drunk driving premier drank 13 drinks and drove in Hawaii. He was made ambassador to Great Britain, cuz high ranking weasels are needed to trash our society. Ethics and a conscience are vital for us, but we look the other way and love sports. My provincial capital is where no one obeys traffic laws. So the Legislative Clerk helped himself to truckloads of booze and bragged about it and everyone looked the other way. Yup. Ethics vs weasels. Autonomous Traffic Safety is poised! GO LIME GREEN! (for visibility)
