What About Foretravel Luxury Motor Coaches?

  • Often in my comments I am asked to review Foretravel motor coaches. While I do run into them periodically, they don't show up that often. But today I was at Premium Coach Group in Gilbert, AZ and was inspecting a 2006 Foretravel Nimbus 336. This unit is not only well-maintained and clean, but at 33 feet an exceptionally short luxury motor coach . This makes it unique and beautiful so I thought I would share it and a few points about Foretravel at the same time.

Hi James, I realize you don't consider yourself "a very good sales person". But I'm here to tell you that you are wrong about that. As I am in sales, I realize that my job is to help my clients by sharing the details of the product I am "selling". Truth be told, people love to buy stuff, but no one wants to be "sold". The best "sale" isn't a sale at all. It's a purchase. A purchase achieved by the client able to understand the benefits of the product (or service) and how it will benefit them, while knowing about the entire product as much as possible.
You do an outstanding job of extolling the virtues (and pitfalls) of the particular RV/Motor Coach in an extremely honest way.
I really appreciate your approach and your really hard work and even more the not-so-hard work when you get the opportunity. Can't wait for the next video. A sincere thank you for all you do, for all of us...

This video was very helpful as I didn't realize that Foretravel coaches were some of the higher quality builds out there. Pretty impressive for a 16 year old coach to be holding up so well, and it sounds like one of the few that use the same slide out system as the most expensive coaches on the market. I'll definitely be taking a closer look at Foretravel in my search for a pre-owned coach. I've learned so much from your videos, thank you!

If you really want to do me a favor, you can review that 2008 Monaco with the Detroit 60 they have sitting next to the Foretravel in the video. It's about as close to perfection as I've found for us at this point, and I'm expecting it to have a "SOLD" tag on it before too long at all, whether it's myself or some other lucky individual.

Be very very careful with brand specific forums.
These are owners and while they are very brand loyal, their loyalty can really affect some of the answers you get. You will not get a bad review because that would be admitting that they bought the wrong brand.
I was a member of one of the foretravel forums for a few years, joined up to get some answers from people who own the product.
It started out pleasant but towards the end it got a bit rude.
You start to say anything negative and the gloves come off to the point of people being banned.
I drank the coolaid before I bought my travel trailer, was a member of the Arctic Fox owners group. Put my faith in what they had to say. The fox was not my best purchase,
So when I was in the Foretravel group I was a little more questioning, it didn't go over well.
Needless to say I left that group and never went back.

This is a nice rig for sure. I have been trying to decide what kind of RV to buy, and looked at one today actually. But, i fear a Class A i can afford , might be a rabbit hole for issues, and i feel intimidated by the size when it comes to maintenance, cuz i'm old. Plus being retired i am on a limited budget. So i will probably get a pull behind, even though i will have to buy a truck also, but i feel much more confident about maintenance on a TT and or and Truck. None of my indecisiveness is gonna stop me from enjoying your channel, and dreaming of a large custom Coach :)

Make sure you get an inspection and make sure you get something that the truck can haul. I see so many that are over their towing capacity struggling up the mountain passes

A somewhat unknown company that has always built excellent quality; 102,000 miles really not too bad. I would personally choose this coach over almost anything new, I kind of like the "smaller" "lower" version.

Can you make a video on how paint repairs are done on coaches? I’m in the collision repair industry and I’ve wondered how they are done on motor homes. I assume all the sealants have to be stripped away and then re applied after paint? I am curious about the process.

What’s the slide mechanism do the use on the Foretravel? Do the make their own? Or use Lippert?

In 2012 the Foretravel went to a one piece windshield and a 7 foot ceiling height inside.

Do all early Foretravels have the lower ceilings? I’m nearly 6’4”…

Hi James. I'd like to ask a question. Our 2021 work and play, the bed for some weird reason didn't come with actuators to hold it up when open. what brand would you recommend? LBS? I will measure it when open as I learned from you regarding your outside ones you replaced on your bus....Thank you!! hope you come to Fla soon!!!!🇺🇲

I am looking at purchasing a 1995 Foretravel Grand Villa U300, it has the cat engine with 195k miles. No slides, Do you think parts will be hard to find?
