Newell is a better coach…but Newell is on a whole different playing field…I don’t think this Newell is 3x the coach of Foretravel…I would go with a Foretravel over a King Aire all day long…Foretravel Always has excellent rear baths..Kinda not fair when comparing a coach 3x the price over the other…Just my $.02

I don't think I would call the Foretravel a "Production coach". I'm sure that Newell makes more coaches than Foretravel. The Newell is nicer but not one million dollars nicer. The Foretravel is a better value.

It's not just what you pay but also how well it holds it's value. I kind of doubt he is going to get what he is asking for the Newell but he does it for a living so I doubt he is too far out of line. With the depreciation the Newell is probably a better deal at the end of the day.

Andrew, you need to go out to Texas and visit the FORETRAVEL factory. This isn't a fair comparison at all. You're comparing the REALM, which is a 'production' coach, to a custom NEWELL. You should be comparing a FORETRAVEL IH-45, which is a custom coach, to the NEWELL. Yeah, the NEWELL is going to have more glitz, and eye wash, but the IH-45 also has many of the high end features as the NEWELL and being a custom coach they can add whatever high end features you want. The biggest difference I can see is the tag axle steering and aluminum side walls but is that really worth another million dollars?

As I watch and listen to your comparison, when you go through that Foretravel you might have considered using the phrase "not as expensive a treatment" as Newell as opposed to "not the quality" you'll find in a Newell. The differentiator as you compare treatments is "expense" as opposed to "quality". Otherwise, nice video. And as an afterthought, Foretravel seems a wildly great "value" buy when compared to Newell and a couple others (Prevost excepted).

  • @tiffanystokes5509

I can already tell which one you like better Andrew lol! Just by how you were comparing the two when you were giving the tour of the Foretravel. For me? If Bradly T came up to me and said I could have either one for free: Hands down the Foretravel is the one I would pick if I had the choice between the two. The paint job on the Newell coach is beautiful. But the inside looks like the inside of a nightclub, or like a party bus that people would go to party and have a good night and there is even beds for people to sleep in after the party. It in no way makes me feel like I’m in a warm and cozy coach. It’s not ugly by any means, you can see the quality of the craftsmanship. And it’s a very attractive coach. But it isn’t something I would buy even if I had that kind of money. Over 2$ million dollars? I don’t see it. Anyway….thank you so much for a great video, it was really fun comparing the two coaches. I would love to see more of these kind of videos in the future!😊

If both were offered to you for free and you chose the Foretravel, then I don't mean to be rude but you are... not very bright. 🙂
I'm kind of just playing around, but in 10 years from now, the Newell will be worth MUCH MUCH MUCH more than the Foretravel. If money means nothing to you, then you're unique but the for the rest of us, value is important.

Just the same as if I announced "I prefer the taste of a piece of dog feces over a cheeseburger. Excrement is more delicious than a hamburger" I would expect challenge. To say you'd take this $800k coach over a much more valuable $2.2m begs challenge. The only shock to me is that no one did in 4 months. ;-)
Feel better, friend. It was just a fun retort to an otherwise silly comment of yours. Truth be told, I don't appreciate the Vegas mirrors and LEDs on some of these high-end coaches, but I most assuredly wouldn't choose one that is $800k depreciating to $400k over a few years vs $2.2m depreciating to $1.7m in that same time, but... that's just me and my silly opinion. ;-)

I even showed you that I understand the point you made. My wife and I watch all these high-end RV videos and laugh at how crazy over-the-top they are with all the Las Vegas (we live in Phoenix, close(ish) to Vegas) features. What we DO like it the amazing quality and hate production RVs with sub-standard quality.
And we're with you, we cannot afford that $800k coach, much less a $2.2m coach. Having said all that, since you and I don't have the money, I'd think you'd take the Newell for the very value point I made.

To compare a Foretravel to a Newell makes it apples to oranges IMO, which has only been formed by viewing all your videos past 4 years 🤷‍♂ lol The Foretravel Prevost conversions are very impressive floor plans and rear baths but they seem to be very far and few between I wonder if Foretavel still builds on the Prevost.

Neat video. As a current Foretravel owner I think you are spot on. If you own a Foretravel you can’t imagine owning any other coach than a Newell …. I’m excited to see your upcoming video on the 2013 IH45 that is going thru the PDI process there. The IH was the last of the true Foretravel coaches … built on their proprietary chassis. I agree with Brad when he said that a 8-10 year old Foretravel is probably better built than a new one. 💪👍🏼

  • @deanhauser6626

Newell is the coach to have, not a production line or a passenger bus conversion coach. Foretravel I think is a great value over "any" other production coaches, I would like to have one but, probably won't. I am not impressed with any of the very high end coaches that do not offer real wood cabinetry and, their reasons about the wood moving around with the season changes is partially true, being a cabinet maker they could offer real wood veneers over stable substrates to give you the warm feel of wood not, the shiny plastic laminate. I used solid oak and maple in my rebuild and have no problems. I think Liberty Coach is getting way out of hand price wise but, if you can sell your product to those that have to have the most expensive then there those that can market that to some people

2017 was the last year Foretravel built custom frames. IH-45 does depreciate quicker than Newell, but there is not $1MM in added benefit between the two. The IH-45 with HWH Active Air give the coach an unbelievable ride. The 2018 and beyond have become more of a production coach, so comparing the latest to pre-2018 is not apples and oranges. I have spoken to a few coach owners and they have owned both. Their opinion, as owners is FT ranks a close 3rd to the other custom built coaches. We have had production coaches and the FT is a massive step up from anything in the production RV industry. Everyone has an opinion and each has to be happy with the choice they make! I can upgrade my FT for less than $1MM to make it what I want...Great job on a quick overview!

Also, keep in mind that the older Foretravels were custom built with their own frames, etc., which I believe ride better than the Spartan chassis, which they went to in I believe '08. I like when Bradley said he like to deal in reality when it comes to numbers. It really doesn't matter what Foretravel MSRP is, all that matters is what they will sell it to you for. To be honest, I don't think I would deal with a RV company that gives a MSRP that 30% higher then what the coach will sell for. You have to ask why are they doing that? To find the one person who doesn't research prices so they can take advantage of them and sell thm a coach at MSRP? Sounds a little grimy and off putting to me.

Newell is the best of the best, and a dream coach for anyone, but for twice the price, and with many of the fabrics and custom touches that might not be someone's up of tea, the Foretravel is without a doubt the better deal. All the best hardware, and quality you'll ever need. Also there is some level of customization that can be done to a Foretravel, not from the ground floor up as with the Newell, but a lot still.
