  • Sebastian Vettel certainly had lesser equipment than Lewis Hamilton in F1 2017, thinks Eddie Irvine. But was he really the better driver? And could Hamilton still improve if he was jet-setting less? The 1999 almost World Champion talks to Chief Editor Christian Nimmervoll in an F1 2017 season review (part 2).

    Eddie's respect for Michael is obvious... Kudos to you Eddie. I still can't believe that pit stop way back in 1999...The Championship was yours. What dreams may have come? Thank you Eddie. Forza Ferrari.

    Jacques Nasser was astonished to learn the Ford Motor Corporation's highest paid employee was one Edmund Irvine, back in the days when Ford owned Jaguar.

    Great feature. I've watched these videos from the very beginning.
    In the Uk, media likes to hate on Ferrari apart from that, they aren't open with what they say, so I like these videos, for someone who says he hasn't watched much Eddie's got the right impression of the season.

    A team would hold back performance, but certainly never help a rival team. Could cost titles if the rival team finds an advantage in other areas.

    @Bahamuttiamat Před 6 lety +12

    Yes, eddie, lewis has the speed advantage, its called his right and left foot.
    Ferrari and mercedes were more of less equal all season. The better driver won.

    • @Rosario_Verano
      @Rosario_Verano Před 6 lety +10

      Mercedes curb stomped Ferrari in Qualifying and was by far the better car at power circuits. The whole ''Ferrari have a better car'' thing was based solely on the pre-season tests. That being said, Hamilton made less mistakes than Vettel and made the most out of Mercedes's qualifying pace.

    • @Bahamuttiamat
      @Bahamuttiamat Před 6 lety +1

      Ahuh what about the tight circuits? Monaco, singapore, hungary, spain, spa, austria. Lewis curb stomped Vettel. If ham drove that ferrari he'd have won the championship even sooner. Excellent chassis and superb aero.
      Funny how many choose to ignore the difficulties of driving that huge merc boat.

    • @C3lloman
      @C3lloman Před 6 lety +4

      Spain and Spa are not tight circuits, they are by the definition flowing fast circuits. The only circuits where Ferrari had a clear advantage were Monaco, Hungary and Singapore. That's 3 out of 20 races.

    I used to like these but man he's annoying sometimes. He sure does whine about and criticize modern drivers but he never achieved much and he doesn't even watch races these days. All of the criticism and negativity gets old.

    • @techtipsuk
      @techtipsuk Před 6 lety +6

      Digit975 I think he pays more interest than what he makes out. He’s a bit of a prick though I’ve always thought that.

    • @digit975
      @digit975 Před 6 lety +3

      Yeah but he seems to have a bad case of nostalgia. Everything modern, except Lewis, sucks and it was all better back in his day. Like how he said Vettel easily won his championships and his only competition was Webber... he might want to revisit 2012

    • @digit975
      @digit975 Před 6 lety +1

      GTSpeedster That’s not it at all. He’s acting like 1999 was the last good year of F1. Pretty much all he does is complain. I’d rather have a better analysis than “I don’t want the races but here’s my opinion through my rose-colored glasses”

    • @addsy6396
      @addsy6396 Před 5 lety +6

      Not achieve much? Thought he was runner up 1999 f1 season and helped Ferrari clinch the constructors championship that year...
