Concerning Megan Fox, it’s not just voice acting that’s not her thing. If you’ve ever watched any of her movies, you’d see that acting in general is not her strong suit. Her underwhelming performances (regardless of the character she plays or how large her role is) are consistently one of, if not THE, weakest piece of almost any movie she’s in.
Exactly! Which scratches my head why NRS even picked her in the first place when there are so many better choices. Grey Griffen (the voice of Azula (Avatar the Last Airbender) and Catwoman (Batman Arkham series and Injustice) would have been a better fit for the character than A.I. robotic porn star who sounds my groaning cat with a vibrator up it's ass.

There was never a doubt that JK Simmons wouldn’t nail it for Omniman. The guy is qualified as a VA as much as he is as an actor, given all the work he has done as both.
I do not understand getting Megan Fox for the main cast. Ronda Rousey kinda made sense as a fan cast gone wrong, but Megan Fox was never gonna make the role any better, and I doubt it gained the game more attention.
I don’t know what it cost, but a lot of people are pointing to the fact we’re not gonna have Antony Starr as Homelander, and I doubt we’ll hear John Cena as Peacemaker either.

In Brazil, a guessed star known as Pity (her biggest sing is Na sua estante) did voice act Cassie Cage in MKX, it was so bizarre that she hasn't been invited to continue the voice acting for MKX’s Kombat Pack 2…instead she’s replaced for Priscila Franco, whose kept the amazing work until MK11.

Just remembered: I’m not comparing Brazilian Voice Acting with worldwide voice acting, I’m just putting some more stuff to the discussion itself, I’m not saying X Country voice acting is better or worse, even though Brazilian Voice Acting will always be the best…just kiddin’ (or not, maybe)!
About Pity, not saying she is awful, she's a great, very talented singer and has a beautiful voice! But, as a voice actress…she's a great singer may I say!
Ronda at least was expressive and it actually made the MK11 version a bit charming though a tad off putting in most scenes. I could tolerate her voice since Ronda put in a good effort and she does have a bunch of solid line reads. It’s just a handful of odd reads that probably would’ve been fixed with a bit more time/better direction. Sonya was fine despite Ronda’s voicing flaws, but you could grow to accept her’s at the very least and I didn’t hate Sonya because of Ronda.
Megan Fox on the other hand has no soul behind her voice in ANYTHING. Like it feels like her first cold read and NRS was like “Yeah! That fits Nitara!” I was excited to see Nitara again, but MF’s performance made me hate her, and that’s something. It’s one thing to do it for the “wow factor”, but wow factors don’t always make the game better, especially when a disaster like this happens. Feels more like a waste on a game that is struggling to keep fans invested into the series.
edit: Also fun fact, Megan Fox doesn’t even do the kombat foley. At least Ronda did her own foley.
You should know Megan Fox did the VOICE for Nitara, but Cristina Vee did the EFFECTS for her as well.

It was just so painful to go though the story mode, be extremely invested in the story, and then have that investment be abruptly interrupted when Nitara opened her mouth. And it happened every single time she came back around.
Never liked MK11 but seeing footage of it made me miss it... That's so weird, but ig it says a lot about "MK1"... It's like MK lost its essence or feel and MK11 still had it.
I hated 11 the first few times I played but it became one of my favorites. Mk1 is just to much shit going on.

First time hearing Nitara I knew something was off about her voice. I didn’t even know it was Megan fox who voiced her.
I personally thought Sonia in Mortal Kombat 11 had pretty good voice acting and had a beautiful younger character model. The older version has a bad face. I guess that makes me kind of weird. There are a few lines and dialogue, where Megan Fox does a fairly passable job.

The funniest part about the Megan Fox voice is that they didn’t even use her voice for the actual fighting. All the grunts and screams are Christina Vee. So NRS KNEW Megan Fox sucked and still went with her.
Her and Ronda both suffer the same issue great voice but you can tell not alot of voice acting experience. No matter what there saying it all sounds the same emotion wise.

Mortal Kombat has always been about gimmicks when compared to Street Fighter or Tekken. It's gathered a ton of casual playerbase which it has sadly lost with its gameplay mechanics.

Honestly i think cole yung would be pretty cool to reprise his character if he comes in to a game. The thing is that the character could be better just with a slight change like instead of tonfas he could make whatever weapon her wants like in the concept art.

If anyone follows mma, Sean Strickland had words with some popstar Megan Fox dates, i dont know the guys name, but Strickland repeatedly calls the guy a vampire and says, "I dont know what happened to Megan Fox she is dating a vampire". And Strickland meant it literally, he thinks he is a vampire, she thinks she is a vampire. I wonder if this is some kink thing between them and she wanted the role.

I didn't think about this issue but your right that money could of went to developers to make the game better, skins, game play or add more characters exc and if you didn't know Frank Dukes was a lier about his dimmonk death touch which is fitting the bill of Nrs lying there's so much to do in this game.

As an aspiring Voice Actor myself, I understand how hard voice acting is. You're not only playing a character, staying in character the whole time because when you're playing a character, you as a person don't exist as you're not you. Also, depending on the character, you may have to alter your voice, tone, pitch, know what words to emphasise and for how long etc etc. Also, some people think it's all the voice actor's fault if the voice acting is bad, there's a bit more to it than just that. It isn't just, the actors are in their booths doing their thing then it's done. There's also a performing director next to the actor or in an opposite room making sure the voice acting is good and always double checking if that particular audio of the actor's voice is worth using for the final cut, if not they'll do another take of it.
Or on some occasions, the performance director will micro director, that pretty much means telling the voice actor everything they need to do, like how they should sound when reading certain lines, (especially if the voice actor isn't sure), what emotion they need to portray and what to do, so the voice actor is getting paid for doing what they're told.
That's why I don't get as upset for bad voice acting as I'm aware how hard the business is, and it's a hard business to make a living in, but at the same time I give so much praise to those who are able to do it flawlessly.
I really enjoyed this video, this was fun to watch as it interested me.

I think it would be fair to have beef not with developer as a whole regarding celebs voice acting, but with sound producer (sound director or whoever is in charge). I doubt that Megan or Ronda were in the booth on their own without someone saying "Cut! That's fine. Next line." Someone was directing that and they could give them direction or advice, they could make several takes and choose the best, but they didn't. Or worst case scenario - they did and the lines we have are the best they found.

Ironically Megan Fox is actually the reason I DIDN’T buy the game. Nitara was the only 3D era character I really wanted back and when I heard she was in the game I was pretty hyped…until I heard that voice. At that point any desire to play MK1 left me all at once. It’s been on sale multiple times (my wishlist notifies me everytime it goes on sale) and I’ve yet to even look twice at it
If they got the same voice impressionist as Terminator to be Homelander, it should be MUCH easier for them to sound like Antony Starr than the strongly-accented Arnold Schwarzenegger.
If they limit the guest star voice actors to people with a track record, or ones who count as a legacy easter egg, I'm fine. I felt that Stallone was a bit phoned in, but even a bad performance can be excused when the actor literally IS Rambo. Of course, if you get actors who both have a connection to the character, and some acting chops like Christopher Lambert, then it's fire.
Cristina Vee voiced Nitara's battle grunts when she attacks and gets hit. Megan Fox as a face model for Nitara is perfectly fine but why didn't NRS just use Cristina Vee in the first place and use Megan Fox's voice as an optional skin like Dimitri Vegas for Sub-zero?
Megan has her good moments. is very hit or miss in my opinion, but what really makes me mad is how awkward it is to transition from Ashrah or Quan-Chi, to Megans voice. It’s startling to see the difference in quality. Ronda had her moments too, but her voice doesn’t match Sonyas, in my opinion, anyways
