- Takao Shito is a farmer living in the Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan. Unlike other farmers who left when the airport was built in the 1960s, he chose to stay and continue to cultivate his farmland.

"He is a man of focus, commitment, and sheer frikkin will."
Sure one way or another his legacy will outlive that airport. True commitment.
I greatly salute on him, i respected his rights ,dignity fight for his farm NO Matter they offer him cash I admire him
Honor your father and mother and you will live long and prosper on your land!
Salute! for him for keeping his family legacy
What are you talking about? That dude is an asshole...he has to protecr his stupid pride againT the benefit of many
Somebody who loves most the land than the money!!!
I'm Very Proud Guy !
*God Bless You All*
I would live there since I’m an avgeek
such props to this dude - love this
Dude should rent his place for plane spotting
he is not interested in money :)
👎👎
you gotta respect his decision!
Imagine flying into narita and just seeing a farmer in the middle of the runway
Flew into Narita RWY 34R right by his farm on FS 2020
Nice one
He won. Covid being positive in one man's life without adverse effects.
What a beautiful soul ❤️ Absolute respect ❤️
This is right! Sometimes, you need to protect the thing what's left in your family.
Respect him for airplane and airport
Stand up guy 🇯🇵 💪
I like this guy!
Respected
So honourable .
Respect!
Their offer of the equivalent in USD is $1163484.00 which he could probably live quite well on in Japan in some location, and likely have a farm, but not the one his father left him....
Soul Man ! My respects !
Best house ever
Hatts off Sir
I would argue his farm being in the middle of an airport makes it more interesting and appealing to visitors.
UPDATE AS OF JULY 2023:
Statement from The Sanrizuka-Shibayama United Opposition League against Construction of the Airport:
“[We] strongly condemn the violent eviction that destroyed and robbed the farmland and buildings of our member Takao Shito, as well as the tower and signs owned by the League.
The Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA) and Chiba Prefectural Police’s riot unit have taken away with physical violence Mr. Shito’s habitat and land, which his family has cultivated since his grandparent’s generation for 100 years and yields a bountiful harvest. They have also destroyed the tower and signs that have shown farmers’ unyielding will to fight against the state brutality to construct airport for nearly 60 years. We will never forgive the NAA, the police and Chiba District Court, which legal-washed their criminal act.”
JUSTICE FOR MR. SHITO AND FARM WORKERS EVERYWHERE
1st time i saw an (IN) in exterior!
Here we use (outside) when we are not inside the airport main building.
Well, i hope his vegetables taste great with all the kerosene dropped.
This is funny, you can visit the Shinto shrine in the middle of the runway
You have airport in your home
I’m not interested in money… anybody that says this are probably the most trust worthy people on the planet if they are telling the truth.
Huge respect for his decision and mindset, but the data on air quality of airports and their surroundings is scary, I wouldn’t want to eat vegetables covered in atomized jet fuel exhaust / leaded avgas.
So that's the airport and government's fault, not his. Everyone wants to blame people like him though for not folding to pressure. It's sad.
Is eminent domain not applicable in this case? Maybe Japanese law fully protects private land owners.
it didnt at the time, he won this land because thousands protested, rioted, and even built a fortress on the airport at one point
Farms specifically have much stronger protections under Japanese law than other forms of property
Almost 1.7 million dollars. Wow
That would be a very very expensive land . That land can x3 its price
Expand the Haneda Airport, and then close down Narita.
Cantik rumah tuan.
In KLIA, There are surrounding palm oil plantation...
Doesn’t the soil get polluted?
Now the Narita Airport can become to make the new 3rd Runway(3,500 meter).
How can he go out to a public place when his house is right in the middle of the airport which does not provide road access?
Tunnel.
cool
The jet fuel can’t be good for the crops.
HSV F-2
huh?
But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
Take the money and run, surely all that plane noise and air pollution is in his food, has his veg never been tested for fuel contamination, surely its over the limit?
take cash and live your live!
Yum kerosene veggies
How's his hearing or lungs? His father died at 48???? Lung cancer from all the jet fuel fumes?
Jman 84……
His father died when he ( the son ) was 48...
so misguided. stop and think for a moment about honor, respect and families. the airport could have been put somewhere else. not where a community was established.
Bro his father died when he own was 48, see carefully & read subtitle carefully dude. Means he's father lived a very well age and hope that his son can do too and his son can also.
I would take the money tbqh. His farm is going to be ruined if a plane has an emergency near the airport and has to dump fuel.
Jet fuel will poison his farmland.
Then he can sue for damages
@@joestein6603 more money 🤑🤕💰
Take the money and farm elsewhere :)
take the $1.6m and farm somewhere else lmao, so ignorant
It not about the money, it about sending a message. -Joker
