The RodSTOL Fox is sold and delivered to its new owner. It's making the Pacific Northwest Tour with finding homes in Idaho, Washington, and now Oregon. Thanks for watching my content, I'm going to miss making the vids.
What made you decide to sell it. I was hoping to run into you sometime and see it in person. I am about to undertake a kitfox II project that has been deregistered but does not have significant damage. I am sure I'm going to run into all kinds of hurdles with airworthiness. Trying to figure out the easiest route. May have to take it down and do the 51% and would love to go over it with an A&P to come up with a list that would end up calculated to qualify for 51%. Do you have any opinions on who could help with that in Seattle / Wenatchee area? It needs re skinning anyways so will have opportunity for repair and mods. Thanks
Also, I'm going to miss your content cause it's tough to see much of it on here besides Kitfox IV or newer.
@@craigkennedy8281 Hey when you're in my area let me know. Is your Kitfox project over on this side of the mountains? I'd be happy to help however I can.
RodSTOL Fox No, it’s in Snohomish. We have a little piece of property in Orondo though that I hope to be able to fly in to eventually. Do you know any a & p’s on this side? Thanks
@@craigkennedy8281 I don't unfortunately, I know there's quite a good experimental presence in the Arlington area as that is where I learned to fly. Maybe plug into the EAA chapter there and make some connections. If I ever head you're way I might hit you up and take a look at your 2
Beautiful airplane congratulations !!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Thanks for the effort.
So glad to see such a modern, informative video on these old kitfoxes. I’ve seen a few of them pop up affordable and have considered them as time builders. Hope you make more videos of it!
Edit - just finished the video and realized you sold it. Beautiful aircraft. Hopefully you get something else awesome in the future.
I used to fly in that kitfox with frank. I almost bought the kitfox but I never fit in it all that well being 6’2”. I’m happy to see it flying again looks good!
I have Serial number 142! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful little bird. Thanks for showing.
Good work! Your plane looks fantastic. I am working on a model 2.
Very nice I love my model 1 it is serial number 11 I finished building it in 2017
Nice overview
looks great for being that old
Great vid - she looks stunning, but now sold? 😞
Haha I am in school for my A&P looking to do the same! haha
Sorry, I just saw the other comments and see that it sold. I have a Kitfox1 down here in Texas that I will be selling soon and building a Zenith 750!
Have you sold it> Looking for a kitfox
Did I see the gas tank behind the instrument panel?
Looks like you did a real good job on the plane. Somehow that prop seems familiar :-) What are you flying now? Jim
Hey Jim, yeah the prop worked out great, thanks again! I know have my IA so I annual and maintain a friend's C-172 and in return I get to fly it as much as I want. It's a pretty sweet deal, but I still sure miss my old model 1. Glad to see your Model 4 in the air, happy flying!
I own a Kitfox 1 with a 582 blue head and I only get 65 mph indicated , I noticed yours cruised much faster . What is the pitch set at ? Mine is set at 10.5 degrees.
What is cruise speed and max speed with this engine?
I have a model 2 with zero flight time. has 582lc grey head recently finished but could use some help with all the small stuff , only has alt and coolant temp and tiny tach for guages. i am in east wa. any suggestions?
Yeah you'll definitely need an EGT gauge, learn as much as you can regarding Rotax 2 strokes, join up avidfoxflyers.com which is great community with a wealth of knowledge.
Has it been sold?
Did You ever sell this plane?
Still for sale?
Was the name of the previous owner by chance Frank?
It was, did you know him or fly with him in the Kitfox?
Brandon Rodstol He was my neighbor growing up. Frank gave me my first airplane ride in that kitfox when I was about 8, 25 years ago. It was a rush to takeoff off his driveway/front yard. He’s also my wife’s uncle.
@@fromthevise How cool is that! Yeah while picking up the plane the grandson told me all about his escapades, it was a shame I never got to meet Frank. This makes me happy to know a little more of the history of my Kitfox, thanks for sharing!
