- In Grant's first studio portrait experience, he was obviously very hesitant, but patience pays off. Moving quickly, and always having a plan for the next pose, helps move your young subject along. In this video we show the effort and the reward ... several great portrait images!

This is the best behaved three-year-old I have ever seen
This is the real pro work of a portrait photographer! Winning the confidence of a very shy little toddler who is completely overawed by everything going on around him.
Tim - one thing I see consistently in your videos is that your poses are always a journey. It's never just a "sit this way, look that way..." like so many do. Time after time, your patience and confidence leads your subject to the most wonderful and natural looking poses, even when they're so obviously uncomfortable at the beginning. This was especially true in this one. Thanks for sharing your expertise with us commoners! We continue to find inspiration in your teaching technique. God bless.
I appreciate that! Thanks Todd.
You just earned every penny you get! 🤭 I can relate to all of it when photographing my grand girls. For 9 years now.
What a sweet boy ❤
I feel the exhaustion just watching lest doing it…. how can you put up with it I have no idea….Master at what you do.
I like your style of photography not like the ones nowadays where it is just plain white
Thx for the inspiration ❤
This toddler did so well! You’re work is amazing :)
Thank you!
you did an amazing job keeping the kid calm. lol
Hi Tim, I really love your style. I'm really learning a lot from your Channel. God bless you.
Thank you, Ivan! Yhanks for watching.
great pictures, thanks
I'm sorry, but this is the best behaved three year old I've ever seen. I want to see you sweating it out with a more realistic three year old, the kind that won't sit still, look anywhere near the camera or cooperate in any shape, form or fashion. That video would be more educational. :)
Frank Zayas yeah i would like to see a video of a two yr old who screeched and banged her head against the floor the whole time
We get them all the time, and I do have a few techniques. I haven't done a re-shoot since 1983. Mostly, I leave enough time for the session, a let it be known, no one is going home until I have some good ones in the can. All kids can have a good couple of minutes, even if you have to wait twenty minutes for it.
Thanks for watching!
@@TimKellysMasterPhotoTechniqueswhether shooting young or old, so many times my last or last few shots end up being the best ones. When everyone is relaxed or after I say this is the last one or just one more, I keep shooting after I’ve told them we’re done. I’m learning so much watching you.
you are so sweet with him!! your work is amazing!

Thanks for watching!
Everything’s great about the video except the results. They look so posed and unnatural. Very much like what you’d get at a jc penny or other generic portrait places.
Thanks so much sri
