I'm 55, but saw them yrs ago @ burnt ramen in oakland, California they were amazing hella energy, great band
the best band in the world!
I'm 54 and was at every Sunday matinee @ CBGB from 82 to 85 and these guys blow Discharge away by miles.
Thomas Fleming damn right
Of course because over the generations D beat became more powerful but remember without Discharge it may never had been. I am the same generation of punk as you (old now lol) but punks today should respect their ancestors who carved it out for them to improve each generation.
Ab so lutely
@@emptyemptiness8372 well said
definitely mate.
First time i saw them was at the Excurtiating Terror house in L.A back in 2001-2002.......... fucken amazing, for me it opened a whole new world of progressive music. From His Heros Gone to Tragedy. Punk for ever!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Excellent performance... Tragedy is the BAND

Fucking Awesome Quality!! Thanks For Posting This. Cheers!!
It really took me some time to get into this, because it's so dense, but when I did... wow
Man! Great band! I used to hear many swedish, finnish and english bands doing crust punk. But Tragedy is the very first one american band doing crust good as fuck! By the way, don't get me wrong: no borders, no flags!
Thanks for posting this video!
Disrupt!!! ;)
Hristo Ignatov Hell, yeah! What's wrong about me? I forgot that Disrupt is an American band! HAHAHA. Thank You! :-)
By the way: my favorite crust band is Doom, but my favorite crust album ever is Unrest (Disrupt), fucking master piece (check my videos!)
FrankCastiglione Unrest is a fucking beast of an album!
+FrankCastiglione I guess you're not familiar with Hellshock and the whole of Portland
FrankCastiglione STATE OF FEAR is Fucking Good Crust Band! Jay always have the right riff!

Once of the greatest Hardcore Crust bands ever!!!
@@sarahelisabeth373 Wut
@@UnclePhillyMyAss HE SAID “ONCE OF THE GREATEST HARDCORE CRUST BANDS EVER”. It’s a pretty straightforward statement.
@@alexnewman5338 Hi Alex. You might notice that my @ was not directed at him but someone else who's comment is now removed. Unless David is also Sarah.
Learn how to internet before trying to act a smart ass please. Leaves you wide open. Have a nice day.
@@alexnewman5338 Um, but he was reacting to someone else than you'd think... ;)

See you there! \m/
Und ab gehts,,,Das macht glücklich Peace
Son bestiales!!!!
I’m guessing “crust punk” that I keep hearing about is a lot like metal. I’m new to this genre and I’m liking it!
yes and no, instrumentally there's definitely metal influences, but vocally and thematically it's much more like hardcore/punk.
If you like Tragedy check out World Burns To Death
Tragedy's Darker Days Ahead album is pretty much a metal album. I love all of their releases but to me Darker Days Ahead is their magnum opus, the riffage and composition are absolutely sublime. In all honesty, I think d-beat can get a bit boring and too easy to lean on sometimes and I think what the band did in Darker Days Ahead was creatively genius and crushingly epic after more or less covering any and all straightforward crust/d-beat ground that they could.
the show coming up with Neurosis will most definitely be epic...
Man they were firing on all cylinders on this night !!!!!
This was in their prime
top drawer,,
crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! holy shit! fuckin great!
Tasty.....
haha, dude why did Bill just like throw his bass down on the floor there at the end??
Fuckin awesome! Come back to Ireland guys!
Any of the guitar players or bass players know what tuning they use standard to play? Probably use some pretty heavy gauge strings drop A ? Just a guess
Sometimes even drop b
amazing fucking band
me too! (Y)
The real tragedy...
Hahahah
I saw them at the Blind Pig Ann Arbor in '06
I was sitting right in front... I use a wheelchair to get around, but also can walk on my knees if need be.
Anyways, first song I was like 'what the fuck am I thinking' needless to say within 2 seconds I realized I fucked up.
My buddy threw my ass and chair over Todd's side of the stage as I escaped a most certain pummeling.
Haha
Am I the only one who was disappointed as fuck that "Fury, Fury, Fury" wasn't ever released? Fuck I could listen to that song forever.
Ben T they’re coming out with a new LP titled Fury
The dude with the Tragedy patch doesn't even look stoked lol
México City PLEASE!!!
Nice vid tho! Tragedy fucking rules.

These guys listen to way too much of Japanese hardcore but executed the influence really well.
大橋光裕 for sure.
They were around way before Japanese hardcore lol
@@nickfanzo Most of 1st wave Japanese hardcore bands started around 81 through 82.
So you mean TRAGEDY started way before that?
Excellent!
I didn't know TRAGEDY had such a extremely long career.
Mitch XXX blah blah blah
Crust is American. Poor kids afforded the voice to be pissed.
Crust is worldwide.
Crust is pizza wide
18:25 A hat with a nazi symbol and a Tragedy patch! What the hell ? D;
I think it's a "crossed out" nazi symbol :P
Triggered! STFU
@@666theblitz If you're not "triggered" by Nazi imagery then you're pretty much a Nazi. Fuck off ass hat, keep the fuck out of punk spaces.
And anyway, nazis used Swaziland but they didn't invent it and they don't own it. But even if dude IS a neo-nazi he's still allowed to like Tragedy. They seriously fucking kill it. I love this band, yeah? So fucking rad.
@@h.n.deaton6931 Tragedy is a band that is part of crust or anarchopunk movement, it is simply the heaviest and most radical genre of punk. So if he was a neo-nazi he should have been beaten up at this show. This is how neo-Nazis are treated at crust shows in Brazil. Because crust emerged to elevate punk to another level of seriousness including direct action. Anyway, my comment is now 6 years old and you are here defending swastikas as big posers. The pin he wears is a "crossed out" swastika which is the correct political position for a punk and crust event. Nazi punks are listening Screwdriver, not Tragedy.
