If u put the candle with lid, it make ur candle to smell smoky cuz the smoke trapped inside with lid on top

It shouldn't do - because you're immediately cutting off the oxygen source by using a lid - the wick can no longer combust/ candle should stop burning very quickly (in a few seconds).
