Maserati MC12: the Enzo Race Car - ISSIMI Spotlight feat. Jason Cammisa - Ep. 03

- The Maserati MC12 was an open-top homologation race car based on the Enzo Ferrari, which itself was never raced. Just 50 road-legal MC12 “Stradale” and 12 Versione Corse (racing versions) were produced, compared with 400 Enzos, making this one of the rarest cars produced in decades.
This ISSIMI video includes full-throttle acceleration sound and ultra-HD 4K visuals.
The MC12’s racing history is as impressive as its Frank Stephenson-penned lines. The MC12 dominated FIA GT racing, earning 14 championship titles including 3 manufacturer’s cups. This success puts it in a rare category of FIA GT1 homologation and race cars that includes the McLaren F1, the Porsche 911 GT1, and the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK GTR.
With its incredible rarity and prestigious racing pedigree, all-carbon construction, pushrod-actuated suspension, and the magnificent 630-hp Ferrari F140 V-12 engine, the 2004 Maserati MC12 has all the ingredients of a future classic.

Damn good comparison cars.
Damn good sounds.
Damn good moves.
Damn good made up element Titininium.
Damn good job, budget Sandler.
You’re breaking rule 3
Thank you! :-D
"Budget Sanler"!!! OMG That's so true!! I am dead! XD
@@JasonCammisa Also, camisa in portuguese is T-shirt
I like to think of him more as Homologation Sandler
"The perfectly proportioned BMW X5" is not a sentence I ever expected to hear
The first and second gen X5s are really both excellent designs...throughout the bangle years I always called out the X5 as the aesthetic highlight of BMW's lineup.
M C yeah I agree, esp the second gen still looks relatively good today
it was always a good looking SUV
@@koko1914 Looked great on a lift, which is where you usually found them.
@@zhaoyangxie Second gen is awful. First gen still looks good, for an SUV that is.
"Jason Cammisa ≠ Adam Sandler" hahahahaaaaah
Dude! That's it! Been bugging me for ages.. Nailed it :)
He *is* , however, Carlos Lago.

I would love to see the spotlight placed on a Lexus LFA.
as much as I would love to see Jason dissect and LFA, I feel like the cars in the Issimi office have a prominent European focus
@@deathcab4booty 😔 true, he clearly loves European cars, Japanese, not so much.
Please no, the more attention it gets the more expensive it'll get xD . I want to buy it some day hopefully
That Yamaha-developed roar on the LFA sounds fantastic!!
I vote for that, the LFA......! .
9:33 I loved that it says professional idiot do not attempt
BNM LKN and “closed” “course”... suuuuuuuuuure 😉
It sure was a professional Idiot, because the engine wasn't even full up to temperature
Glad they put this in. I was just about to step out and do the same with mine
@@FIREPHOENIXX234 90°C is the considered to be the perfect temperature, and if you look carefully, you can see the car IS at 90°C, so yeah, it was up to temperature.
It's not like you can, they are apparently incredibly rare, lol (the car, idiots aren't rare at all)
Jeez this car get's better with age!
Take Camissa to the Gun range
That's how the Enzo should've looked like
@@Pirustae enzo looks better though
looks awesome but not as good as the enzo
the inventory in issimi office is so crazy, jason can pull up any car to show the similarity rather than showing us a picture. I LOVE IT!!!!!
btw beatiful testarossa
But didn’t have Enzo to put next to it
The Enzo is a stunning car. But I always preferred the looks of the MC12
oh nah other way around, was lucky enough to sit in an mc12 but the enzo is just another level of beauty
HISSSSSSSS!!!!! lol awww you are going to be sent a nasty--gram from Ferrari! tsssk tssk (just kidding around)
@@alalal123421 I'm not so sure of that. The F40 still looks much better than the Enzo. The MC12 reminds me of the F40.
Ferrari produces way too many cars!! They lose their appeal.
Sublime review that a car like this deserved and no one talked about it until now for a long time
I reckon it's because none of the plebeian car journalists could get their hands on one of these
check out Fifth Gear's review of the MC12 back around when it came out. The owner drives it a bit in a way you may not expect.... he certainly has fun with it!
@@quackman haha this is what means to use properly it is a toy anyways
thanks for recomending
The homologation cars throughout racing have always been amazing. It forced car makers to make amazing cars for us laypeople so their meat robots could race them. And before people say "homologation cars are only for the rich and not us", then I remind them of cars like the WRX, Lancer, Fast Volvos are products of homologation, and they quickly shut up.
Jason I think you're the second most hilarious car reviewer after Jeremy Clarkson. I absolutely love your style of reviewing cars.
Agree with this. Well said
Comparisons to Clarkson are insults IMO
IMO Jason is a much better reviewer than Clarkson IMO. Humor is subjective, but I definitely like Jason’s better.
Thank you guys!!
i like clarkson but jasons definitely better, throttlehouse is also phenomenal
Absolutely loved it! What I'd love even more is you featuring every homologation special car in the Spotlight series.
i hope for mercedes clk gtr next
Thank you so much for making a video on the MC12. It typically does not get the attention it deserves!
Jason. Thank You, you've taken on a personality the 35 and youngers needed. growing up on top gear and loving each extreme of personalities, you've found a way to be just as iconic without imitating one of those 3. Thank you
That intro is staggering. Reminds me of the last few seasons of Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May. Car reviews like the RC-F and the LFA had similar lighting shots.
Passion just flows through every single sentence of yours Jason! I cannot express how happy these videos make me!!!
I love every part of this video.
Just the right amount of him talking about the car vs. him showing and driving the MC12.
This series is just getting better and better. I can't wait for more. You guys are doing an impeccable job.
I love this guy’s raw, direct approach. Give us MORE!
Didn’t know Adam Sandler was so into Maseratis
How can anyone dislike this video. Thank you Jason! I was fortunate enough to once see a MC12 on the road for literally 5 seconds and the image is burned into my brain. Such a magnificent unicorn of a vehicle.
What a fantastic car, only highlighted by an even better video. I have been loving this series, and it just gets better!
Instant watch. Love Jason. Some of the best content on CZcams. Well done. The front overhang on this is is insane. Plymouth Roadrunner esque
Such a great car, I still remember 50cent driving this thing in his music video for Window shopper back in the day.
Just stumbled across this series, binge watching now! thanks guys!
F*** me, epic content @ISSIMI. Jason Cammisa you SOB the commentary is fantastic my dude. This channel is helping me stay sane during the lockdown. THANK YOU.
Thanks for the fresh content its about the only thing I have to look foreward to these days. Please keep it going
My friends sent me the link to this because it's the #1 car in my dream garage and I spout these numbers off the same way.
Thanks Jason!
I've been lucky enough to see two of these in person. Breathtaking
I've been in love with this car since its inception. I still have my Maisto model of it. Gorgeous The last of the poster cars in my mind
This is the best car site on CZcams. Jason is awesome. Very funny, very entertaining, and full of great information. The only thing I wish she did was more videos.
More epic, honest content!! Thank you guys!
One of my favorite cars since I was a child. Just gorgeous.
This is a really nicely done series. Perfect length and balance of visuals and data.
This Spotlight series is something else. Love it.
This has always been my poster car, the if I make it big car. It’s always been under appreciated. Great video as always. Keep up the great work.
This is the car that made me a car enthusiast. I was lucky enough to see one when I was a kid at an auto show in Grand Rapids. Only one I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing!
These really are getting better I forgot how much I missed well produced jason cammisa
I saw a couple of these at Lime Rock about 10 years as go. This Is a memorable car for sure. Ty Jason!!👍🇺🇸👍🇮🇪
Loving this series! Wish I could binge watch it! You need a Netflix funded season!
why do i just found out this channel now, absolutely loved it !
Thank you for featuring this car, cleared up my confusion on its existence. Also had no idea it was lighter than an Enzo despite being the size of an aircraft carrier.
Great review, very detailed. Thank you. Greetings from the UK!
I love these spotlight videos! Keep em coming
The blue and white paint job is absolutely stunning. If nothing else I would, like you said, buy this car for the way it looks. Its a work of art, and it flashes its colors in a sober, but still evidently flaunting way thats just about perfect. Its not too crazily outlandish but its not too quiet for my taste. What a wonderful piece of craftsmanship.
Loved the two little throttle blips at the end.
Well presented. Once again, a great episode.
Great job Jason! Love this series and the MC12 is a very cool car.
Awesome video guys! Great props to Frank, Jason even pronounced his surname correctly. This channel rocks!
This has become my new favorite channel on CZcams!
I loved the MC12 from the moment it was released. Funnily enough it took years and years for the Enzo to grow on me. Now I love them both but that MC12 is still something else!
What a car, what an edit and what a Camisa
What a nice review! It really makes you appreciate the car.
Keep them coming .
Great video.
shifters on the steering column as God intended. Thank you for this.
We need more of these Spotlight videos!!!
Saw this in Seoul circa 2008. And boy does it stand out on the road!
Just a beautiful piece of art!!
as an italian person I thoroughly appreciate the effort you made learning the correct pronounciation, It makes the video that much more enjoyable, Kudos!
Yall doing such a good job
More Spotlight series. More Camissa! It's all we want!!
I LOVE this car! Thanks Jason!
Ending drive had serious night time endurance racing vibes. Thank you
One of my top three cars. Absolutely underrated.
These cars are so beautiful😍. I got a ride in one, and it was the greatest day of my life☺️. It’s still the best day today!
Woohoo! Another Spotlight video! I'm surprised more people don't know about these MC-12s.
This series is most excellent
Underrated for a long time, one of the best
You mentioned Frank Stephenson, if anyone hasn’t already do yourself a favor and search for Franks CZcams! He has some videos of him breaking down some of his designs with just pen and paper
Great videos I’m glad I found your channel.
A SUPERB spotlight video Team Jason!
Honestly, the emotions that you convey, the passion that you have when talking about these beauties, the knowledge that you have, cinematography, everything is absolutely exquisite.
Aaaaand, you're funny as hell Mr. Jason "Not Adam Sandler, but Ryan Reynolds" Cammisa and Mr. Derek Tam "There is no limit to my car knowledge" Scott.
I like your presentation style, entertaining and interesting. Insightful. Thank you!
absolutely love this thing, I didn't know they were gear drive and yeah because race car. After knowing that I can hear mechanical noises and it's awesome.
aight imma binge watch every Spotlight episode and boast Jason!!! lets gooo
Watching you from France and being a fan of italian cars (owner of 147gta), it's a pleasur to watch such a high quality video. Continue to do this kind of high end videos about italian cars
Jason is the best journalist
Great video so glad I found your channel just subscribed 👍🏻
Awesome video. The MC12 deserves more attention
Really digging the excellent content!! Loving the work and that engine is marvelous!! It may sound extreme, but I hope y'all can land an opportunity to review the 917 on spotlight one day...
Wow man that's you ... what a report big big big thumbs up man... please more of such reviews like that
The car just looks awesome! And I really like Jasons info/insigthts/views;-)
The most underrated car ever produced in the world. Has a career in endurance racing, with an unusual design, has 12 race models built exclusively for the track, and only 50 road cars. If I was a very rich person, I would fill my garage with MC12s and do anything to make these cars worthwhile.
This is so good. Thank you
In 2006, i took my first trip (pilgrimage?) to Maranello Italy to visit the Ferrari musuem/track etc. As Im pulling into the lot of the museum there is an MC12 sitting there parked. I couldn't believe it, so i parked and went to check it out before going to the museum, it had the windows half down and louis vuitton luggage sitting in the passenger seat. It made me so happy to know someone was taking it on a road trip. Its an amazing car to see in person!
God I love this channel and Jason you make these videos so much better 😇
Love these videos
Love the videos!!
Saw the team years ago at the Petit Le Mans. Gave them a printed product with some 50s Maserati photos from Sebring my parents took. None of the mechanics spoke English, big smiles from them, they gave me a team hat.
On god this channel needs more attention
Remember seeing the first delivery of the car to a UK customer in winter. Who *immediately* slid it on the snow and bent the rear wing needing repairs. Golden.
From France with passion and respect ✌🏼🇨🇵😎
It’s Jason’s dancing for me. 12/10.
Sick video!!
THE most beautiful car, I swoon just to look at it.
Amazing video!
Love that Jason chastises the Carrera GT as sooo heavy at 3146lbs yet somehow the MC12 is super light at 3150lbs. Love these videos just an interesting note.
Even in racing games, this car is godly and easily my favorite.
This channel is seriously underrated.
Yes love thee videos please make more they are awesome!!!
Still surprised i saw one right behind a yellow enzo . So cool to see the car that was on my wall as a kid being driven.
Growing up in new Milford nj I would take the ride to dads job when i was a kid, as you do. Passing through the town of haworth nj, a quiet wealthy small town dominated by 2 golf courses. Upon passing through I would see this strange long blue and white shaped car in a driveway. It bothered me so much I told my dad to stop by it to get a better look, this was the 4th time I had seen it at this point. Upon further inspection it revealed a trident on the front. My dad enlightened me that it was a mazerati, though even he did not know what it was. Time passed and while watching top gear we saw the car again and were astounded that we had seen such a thing. I was 9 at the time. Always amazed me when I would see it after that, growing up knowing that i had seen more of an mc12 then an enzo. Still have not seen an enzo in person.
