Thanks to this channel, I'm a fan of the Broncos, while being a fan of the Packers. My fan fiction will be to see the Packers V Broncos (rematch of SB 32) and see how these two cover the SB. I would watch that than any network.

A first rounder is a valuable piece of draft capital. Nix being "better than wilson and stidham" isn't a high enough level of expectation.

I think Brandon summed my thoughts up rather well here....Bo Nix at Oregon was short passes, screens and check downs mostly just to keep moving the chains. Paytons offense last year with Russ was a lot of short throws, screens and check downs....the difference is Russ would hold on to the ball to long and either get sacked , get the ball to the check down guy when the D had figured out what was happening....or the final option....run around like a demented cat with zoomies until Sutton got open enough to risk a throw to which he somehow manages to catch. Just gotta hope Bo doesnt get sacked 45 times in a season......
No. Bo did screens and checkdowns because he can't throw downfield. It's why he flamed out and was awful in Arkansas. He's a 4th round QB, Denve panicked and drafted the Broncos version of Christian Ponder.

Bo Nix is fantastic. Can make all the throws even if he leans toward the short easy stuff. Not incredibly accurate w long ball but otherwise stellar. The problem both he and JD both have us that he tightens under pressure. If you NEED him to make a throw to keep you in it, he probably will miss it. So like JD, he falls behind in shootouts. But if he also can easily come roaring back as the pressure dissipates.
If you can get him to stop his tendency to miss on key plays...you have hell of a qb.
I look forward to watching this QB competition on hard knocks this year
YOU GOT a decent pass rusher- If Pratt is still there on your next pick grab him - Between Wilson- Nix and Pratt you should find someone to hold the team till next year--

I'd be more worried about Penix. He plays straight up bad in 1/4 of his games and then lights out in 3/4
Bo Nix is exactly what Sean Payton wanted..... and got. He's played a lot of games and he's shown his strengths and weaknesses. As a rookie and young man, Sean Payton will be able to "mold" him into his system and utilize Nix's intelligence to run this system similarly to Drew Brees. No one is saying Bo Nix is Drew Brees but it could happen over time. This is a good pick for Sean Payton and Nix may surprise a lot of people.

Bo Nix and Drew Brees have different strengths and weaknesses and are complete opposites as players. But I understand that you’re saying you hope Nix could run Payton’s system as efficiently as Drew Brees. If he does, it will look differently than Brees

As a Broncos fan. If we don't get a Quarterback to get over hyped about. It's not a true mile high off season.

I hope apt of these QBs hit. There has been a lull in consistent quality quarterbacks in the past long while. It feels like we haven't had more than 6 or 7 at most good qbs before a severe drop off in quality. I don't know if any of what I just said makes sense but my point is I hope all these guys are good and we have actual battles and rivalries with good throwers of the football on more than just a few teams. I hope the commanders did right by picking JD. I hope Drake has a legendary career.
I love Sutton but hes not our only good WR. Everybody is sleeping on Josh Reynolds. Maybe theres a reason for that, but the few times I watched the Lions I was impressed especially when competing for targets with Amon Ra Ra Ra Ra St Brown

Minus Reynolds last game with us I loved Reynolds. He would come up with some clutch catches. The Lions though have a lot of weapons so I don't know what to expect from him if he is your number 2. Though I wish him all the best unless he is playing the Lions.

Bo Nix was great at Oregon. He beat Oregon, Alabama and LSU at Auburn with less talent around him.
As Tom mentioned, if Bo kinda sucks, they'll just pick another one next year, probably at a higher spot. Does anyone really expect Denver to seriously compete this year while carrying the massive hole (in dead cap)? Hell, even if he doesn't (but isn't amazing), they might still do that anyway just because of the two they have to face routinely.

Well NFL teams thought there were 5 better QBs in the draft than him and over 50% of first round QBs flop so it is a good chance you draft 3 years of purgatory whenever you draft a first round QB not named Manning.

I’m not even going to lie, Nix was my favorite QB of the draft. As a Chiefs Fan im happy he went to Broncos because he won’t get ruined. He should get developed properly and give a career foundation. He is a really solid choice and think the Broncos will have a pretty decent season with him.
